Would you ever have a ONS?

Say like a guy in the club you really fancied.

Surely it’s underwhelming

Why would it be underwhelming? Personally ONS have been some of the best sex I've ever had. No inhibitions, no deep emotions, just physical pleasure

Wouldn't the sex be rubbish with someone you didn't know well?

Not at all. You don't have to know someone to have good sex.

Ponderingwindow · 09/05/2026 20:59

No

I have no interest in casual sex. I want to know someone first.

i also don’t want the risk of disease or to go to an isolated place with a stranger.

Just seems crazy to me that people would get that intimate with a stranger

Is there any point starting a thread to sneer at people?

ScaredButUnavoidable · 09/05/2026 21:16

I did it once when I was about 23. It felt absolutely fine at the time now and it was great fun.

I look back on it now (aged 43) and although I have no problem with the concept of a ONS in terms of the sex, I cannot believe I put myself in such a vulnerable and dangerous situation with a man I barely knew.

I would never do it again for that reason.
It’s absolutely crazy.

saffglass · 09/05/2026 21:21

When I was at uni I had a ONS which I had thought was the start of a relationship. If someone enjoys it and is single or free to do what they want then I think its totally fine, for me I don't really enjoy sex outside of a committed relationship however lame that sounds, I just don't. I enjoy it much more when I know I am also loved.

MirrorMirror1247 · 09/05/2026 21:24

I've had a couple of one nighters, but I knew the guys beforehand and spoke to them afterwards. I've never met someone, slept with them that night and never seen or spoken to them again. That's not for me.

Freddiesfortune · 09/05/2026 21:25

Is this the latest way to bait women on MN to tell people about their sexual experiences?
Who cares what anyone else would do OP.
If you are remotely genuine in posting you have the internet and tonnes of online advice and experiences to read about safety, STIs and anything else troubling you.
Lots of us didn’t when we were growing up.
It’s dark and horrible to try to get people to talk about things they may or may not have done to try to invoke judgement from other women.
Sex isn’t wrong. Risk taking isn’t wrong. Whatever people choose to do or not do they should remember they have one life and other people’s views ultimately are completely irrelevant.

cocog · 09/05/2026 21:29

If you want to and everyone is single and consenting then go for it as long as you use protection no harm done.

MaCheCazzo · 09/05/2026 21:37

This OP has definitely got the ewwww factor. 💩

Namingbaba · 09/05/2026 21:39

If I was ever single again I wouldn’t. I had a few and found them disappointing. They have no reason to care about your enjoyment.

ChicGreyZebra · 09/05/2026 21:49

In the past I had loads but now I’m married so no.

LimbOnTheTreeTheTreeInTheHoleTheHoleInTheGround · 09/05/2026 20:38

I've had loads, and am glad I did 🤷🏽‍♀️

Same! Had fun and felt empowered if I didn’t want to do it again.

Mugfault · 09/05/2026 20:51

Wouldn't the sex be rubbish with someone you didn't know well?

It depends. First time with a new boyfriend I’d only met him twice and second time it was amazing. Best sex of both of our lives.

Disturbia81 · 10/05/2026 08:28

I’ve had quite a few, but they’ve never ended up being one night as they contact me again. I genuinely was okay with them being one night though.

Not my experience at all.. some of my best sex has been with someone I’ve just met.

Pawpaw4 · 10/05/2026 08:45

No, but each to their own

Safarisagoody · 10/05/2026 09:03

Op, are you over 18? You sound very young, and your answers contradict themselves.

Fsfs · 10/05/2026 09:05

Vivisays · 09/05/2026 20:32

You do you, boo. There’s nothing wrong with consensual sex, as long as you’re safe 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think that’s the point though - how are you safe if you know nothing about the rando you pick up in a club. Are you suggesting that condoms prevent HPV transfer, or that condoms provide a life history of the person who could be anything from a serial killer
to a saint? It doesn’t seem possible to ensure safety or hygiene which is why I have never done it.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 10/05/2026 09:09

Doesn't even have to be a full night if you kick them out/leave after the deed.

Best sex of both of our lives

TBF, I don't believe you are in any position to speak for your partner on that front 😛

NotThisRecordNotThisRecord · 10/05/2026 09:10

I think my DH would be a bit pissed off.

He was a ONS I came back to.:)

Watcher2026 · 10/05/2026 09:19

No thankyou I respect myself more

InstantlyBella · 10/05/2026 09:21

Um, I suppose it depends on who the guy is. Sorry that wasn't much of an answer! 😰

NotThisRecordNotThisRecord · 10/05/2026 10:11

Watcher2026 · 10/05/2026 09:19

Lmao

notacooldad · 10/05/2026 10:13

Yes I did about 40 years ago. All these years later I'm still friends with the guy. Obviously not ibtimate, as it was a ONS, but we live in a small village where everyone knows everyone and he is a nice, decent person.

If I was single now at the age of 60 I certainly couldn't be arsed!!!
