I don't drink alcohol but I do like having something naice to drink if I'm sitting out in the sun.
Something a bit more interesting than plain old coca-cola/fanta etc.

I quite like elderflower cordial with sparkling water, or soda and lime but would like some suggestions of something new to try!

I really dislike the taste of artificial sweeteners so tend to avoid any diet or "light" versions. I used to love Ginger Ale but it's impossible to find one that hasn't had all the sugar replaced with sweeteners.

Been toying with getting a soda stream for ages!

Do it!!! I absolutely love mine, use it all the time everyday. 10/10! Also just feels really guilt free 🤷

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rosso is lovely- blood orange.

MandyMotherOfBrian · 04/05/2026 22:10

Botivo
Sentia (the yellow one is best)
Mother Root (especially the limited edition rhubarb)

but they’re all more alcohol substitutes than a true soft drink. I do love London Essence tonics and sodas. G Spot are gorgeous, particularly the Apple and Sage.

But for a true soft drink - by far the best ever soft drinks you will taste are Rapscallion. Utterly bloody gorgeous.

French cordials with sparkling water - grenadine, peach and lime are our favourites
Grenadine is also good with orange juice and lemonade for an arizona sunset
Fever tree ginger ale and ginger beer are both good. Nice with a squeeze of lime juice and ice.
Chilled fruit or mint tea if you don't want something too sweet

Ophy83 · 04/05/2026 22:39

Another good one - Club Orange. More readily available in Ireland but can be found in the world food aisle of large supermarkets or on amazon

sausagerollsarecool · 04/05/2026 22:39

You can buy direct from Karma (which I like to do as they're a company with fantastic ethics), or from Amazon (obviously a company with very far from fantastic ethics). Also, if you wanted to try just one can... they sell them by the can on Babipur now. My local co-op also sells them by the single can.

M&S still ginger lemonade

SeaBaseAlpha · 04/05/2026 22:52

A Shirley Temple - lemonade and a dash of grenadine.

Hate diet fizzy drinks and don’t love elderflower.

I like the PE peach sparkle that pp mentioned.

I used to love San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa but they changed the recipe. the below are my alternatives.

Belvoir Farm pink lady sparkling
Bottlegreen zesty grapefruit

eyeballer · 04/05/2026 23:09

San Pellegrino Aranciata Rosso is lovely- blood orange.

No, it used to be but then they removed sugar for stevia.

I don’t drink alcohol, coffee etc and live off water. If I want a fizzy drink I just want the sugar version.

left field kombucha

Or charitea mate

ButterYellowHair · 04/05/2026 23:15

Bitter Lemon with blackberry shrub.

longtompot · 04/05/2026 23:16

@DoomCup I love this in the summer months, made with soda water and ice and add a sprig of fresh mint

BunfightBetty · 04/05/2026 23:18

If you're near an Italian deli, look to see if they do cans of 'lemon soda' - not sure who makes it, but it's just called that. Black cans. It's fantastic, so so fresh and lemony - 1,000 times better than San Pellegrino limon.

Mere1 · 04/05/2026 23:22

I choose Sanbitter with tonic. It’s a bit like Campari and soda.
Also like a tonic that’s hibiscus and rhubarb.

Giraffehaver · 05/05/2026 00:20

Watermelon lime and mint cordial is so refreshing

Watermelon lime and mint cordial is so refreshing

This sounds lovely. Do you know who makes it?

IsabellaVireauxLaurent · 05/05/2026 00:30

different energy drinks, eg monster, origin, cherry, then general apple juice and orange juice, a mix overall

JustAnotherWhinger · 05/05/2026 00:37

Ginger beer with a dash of lime is lovely.
as is cranberry juice and orange juice mixed together. Some places sell the latter as a summer breeze mocktail.

theres a nice cranberry and raspberry soda stream syrup as well.

TheLittleSunnyCat · 05/05/2026 02:17

Kombucha and fruit shrub drink with sparkling water

Robinsons used to do a lime and mint cordial. Had mojhito vibes served with soda water over ice

I do this do...slice of lime, soda, ice and the cordial....very mojito like!

I think a tonic on its own (with ice and lemon) hits almost the same spot as a G&T

Tonic water with a spoonful of balsamic vinegar in it is weirdly nice!

Gardenquestion22 · 05/05/2026 07:14

I make ice tea a lot in the summer
also making own kombucha. That’s v easy.
cold herb tea over ice.
