That’s pretty much my summary of the situation too. I’m hoping for the best and planning for the worst.

It would be genuinely brilliant to put faces to names and have a good old gossip and a laugh. I’m happy to do my bit to sort it out if we can agree a less public means of communication.

I am so sorry, that completely sucks.

I am absolutely up for a meet - we could DM our mobiles to an agreed person and then set the whole thing up on either WhatsApp or Signal.

I would love to join you, but sadly, if it's in Newcastle, it isn't really possible for me to get there. I do hope it works out, though, and that those of you who manage to meet up have a great time.

Well the way the Labour Party is going it’s going to do some atypical regicide and a thread title change is on the cards.

Starmer is colourless as a leader, but I feel for him. For a movement based on solidarity Labour don’t half bite each other rather than their opponents. Same old Labour discipline problem, they should be strong, but their hearts are not in government. Even if they get a new leader, it’s not clear how they would be better, except they would not be Starmer.
