@DuncinToffee They do seem to have changed their tack recently.
It is like if your old boss sacks you you might turn on him .......
for example.

The Guardian really has got it in for Starmer, you wonder if someone high up has a personal grudge.

Isn't it to do with Guardian journalists being monitored/investigated by a Labour thinktank - the name of which escapes me atm?

Agree that there has been a real change in tone - quite hostile headlines at times

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2026 10:17

Is it tracking back to the Leveson Inquiry?

OP posts:
Efacsen · 11/05/2026 10:35

IDK if it is Leveson related but the Guardian have only recently found out about it - sorry I'm being so vague - have seen it mentioned at least a couple of times - will take better notice next time I see the link in a Guardian article

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2026 10:37

I don't know either, just musing

That speech wasn't too bad but not great either. I wish he would be so much braver on the EU and get rid of those silly red lines and stop looking at Reform/Greens.

I don't think he will resign today.

What will West do?

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2026 10:42

The nationalisation of British Steel is good

Please God renationalise the water industry.

Just read this on another benefits bashing thread (from someone complaining about the 40 % tax bracket) after it was pointed out that the tax rates are the same as under 14 years of Tory rule
A lot of people consider the Conservatives from Cameron onwards as a quasi socialist movement. Hence the rise of Reform.
I nearly spat my tea out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve been told repeatedly recently that the last 14 years of the Tories was left of centre and socialist. Madness.

Whole heartedly agree! (With bells on 🔔🔔)

As a matter of urgency.

A bit of a change here from Ms West

Catherine West reportedly set to press ahead with call for Starmer to set timetable for resignation

Will instead canvas support for a timetable for the PM to stand down and allow a transition.

That’s a quiet shuffle away in the hope nobody notices what a tit she’s made of herself. All the big boys and girls have ignored her.

TemperanceWest · 11/05/2026 13:01

I have just read the most unhinged rant from a Reform supporter about the MN left that I have seen so far. It is absolutely hilarious. I don't understand why they are so very cross.

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2026 13:57

Pointless action from West, and the Streeting backers are annoyed he isn't making his move.

Oh dear, it seems like Gibbins has not been suspended from Reform after all, it seems like Darren Grimes falsely claimed he was. He is 'under investigation'

Ffs how much investigation does it need? The racism is blatant.

A bit surprised by this

Sadiq Khan backs Burnham being allowed to stand as byelection candidate so he can return to Commons

I saw that - ap Iorwerth trying to make a rousing speech and the whole crowd saying, ‘respectfully, sir, we choose singing’. Brilliant.

Please God renationalise the water industry.

Should have done this 5th July 2024.
