There is an absolute corker of a thread about the left being a "snivelling self-righteous mob, busy bodying around, trying to shame others".

I hope we are all suitably ashamed of ourselves.😂

I look at the calibre of poster on that thread and am so grateful I have absolutely nothing in common with them. Some of the arrogance and sneering is off the scale.

Magnificent view @placemats. What a privilege to see that in reality.

DuncinToffee · 09/05/2026 22:10

It's very much the same few posters, they are so recognisable.

Indeed. The constant name changes fool nobody.

TemperanceWest · 09/05/2026 22:18

@placemats thanks for sharing that photo, absolutely amazing.

dontcallmelen · 09/05/2026 22:18

Its almost other worldly placemats so beautiful glad you had such a glorious view.

FFS, Observer article contained crapto

https://bsky.app/profile/catneilan.bsky.social/post/3mlh56elpwc26

Keir Starmer has told @theobserveruk.bsky.social: “There’s a reason that [Farage] is walking away from interviews where questions are being put to him. He doesn’t want to answer the questions because he knows that those answers are not going to be very good for him.”

Delicious.

PickAChew · 09/05/2026 23:58

Extremely. Is there some new talent in comma?

PickAChew · 10/05/2026 00:13

Comms.

Not my speciality, obvs.

MsJinks · 10/05/2026 06:26

@placemats- such a beautiful photo- breathtaking - and I need to go now lol - enjoy the rest of it.

itsgettingweird · 10/05/2026 08:05

I’ve also noticed that when the right win the call the left all sorts of names.

They are sore winners as well as losers 😂

as you all know I’m not particularly left wing but I’m finding myself heading that way more and more.

And it’s not about disagreeing with policies all the time. I actually agree we need more social housing for a start.

It’s the blatant racist comments that people actually ignore or worst still - support. 🤬

Efacsen · 10/05/2026 08:13

The name-calling is so 'playground' - maybe needs ignoring or avoiding?

BIossomtoes · 10/05/2026 08:20

They seem really angry that we’re not gutted and furious. We’re clearly not eating enough humble pie and our sackcloth and ashes aren’t scratchy enough. It’s bloody local elections three years out from a GE ffs. Anyone would think Farage had the removal van outside No 10.

Given one of those had a thread pulled yesterday , they are obviously going to name change.

It’s quite disturbing- wonder what they’d really like to do to us?

I’ve said previously that I’m watching the BBC LotF adaptation with my grandson - quite unnerving parallels tbh. Interestingly, my (awesome) grandson lol picked up that Jack was also weak (discussing the bullying of Piggy, Simon etc) just he found a way to avoid a potential penalty on that - by virtue of rich really.

Well my intuition - vote Tory - failed We now have a right pair of reformers (in more than one way).

However when the breakdown shows what went wrong, the next vote will be far more efficient.

In the meantime, is anyone willing to speculate on whether Brum can secure a permanent coalition ?

All my life I have been bullied relentlessly that FPTP is the only way to deliver stability.

I am owed a fucktonne of apologies. In fact I may not have room for them all, as I am still collecting apologies from the people who insisted having a Monarch was how Britain was safe from destructive politicians who spy for the Russians and can't be trusted to obey their own laws.

Ho hum ...

I feel we might be about to find out what happens when an SM resigns/is sacked. This poor dab in Blaenau Gwent Caerffili Rhymni didn’t think he’d be elected… Got the 6th seat for Reform. Wasn’t even at the count.

I thought only British Citizens could stand for office ?

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/16245243/parly-row-visa-term/

Yeah that was the focus of the thread that was pulled yesterday - apparently Commonwealth citizenship is the route to standing in Scotland

BIWI · 10/05/2026 09:48

Just reading the last bit of the Bad Enoch thread. I quite understand why there's pleasure (for them) in seeing Labour so badly affected. But the total lack of concern about Reform's gains is worrying.

Seems a fair question to me. Especially as I can't really see British citizens being able to hold office in India.

Fair question or not - it's a fact and was just about the only [properly referenced one] in that whole appalling thread - why do you want to resurrect it here?

BIossomtoes · 10/05/2026 10:06

I’m really shocked by that post @SerendipityJane. I thought we were better than that on this thread.

Because I was under the impression that only British citizens could vote (and therefore stand) in parliamentary elections.

I was uneasy that our PM was married to a non British citizen ... so to learn that a non British citizen can actually hold a parliamentary office is a little bit of a nasty revelation.

I couldn't give two hoots about the specifics of this case. It's the fact it can happen that is my focus. Because it doesn't feel right.
