How can this be allowed it’s a fucking gagging order surely some department/body or other councillors can rebuke & stop them that’s not democratic & certainly not free speech & as for some of the cretins who have just been elected they should be removed immediately, Christ how can these people even be allowed to stand I feel bloody sick.

Legislation is being worked on which will see this kind of behaviour sanctioned with withdrawal of allowances for councillors who indulge in it after the Nottingham Post challenged it. So no, it won't stand. But change won't come quickly.

West vows to seek to trigger Labour leadership contest

Labour MP Catherine West said she will seek to trigger a leadership contest if a cabinet minister does not launch a challenge to the prime minister by Monday.

West, previously a junior Foreign Office minister, said that if no leadership hopeful makes it known that the cabinet will seek to remove Keir Starmer, she will try to get the necessary signatures herself to trigger a leadership contest.
