And we’ve been in an alternate universe ever since. Lots of evidence already! It makes me feel really weird. Weirdest one Ive heard in a while.

Bah! I think you will find that our previous Earth ended in 2012 when the LHC was switched on. Difficult times. 😁

I know someone that went full Qanon in lockdown, our relationship has never been the same. She's also spreading chemtrails misinformation on FB.

I’m still not really sure if he’s joking but I think I know a flat earther. He said the view from the plane was evidence and when you watch a sunset over the sea. I said both of those are evidence it’s a round planet. You can literally see the curvature of the earth. He said “nah, nah” and we were laughing in shock so he started laughing too but he’s mentioned it a few times and used the words “I’m dead serious”.

While laughing his head off I may add.

I never undestsnd flat earthers ,for what possible reason do they think we are being lied t?
And if we found our the earth actully was flat what difference would it make to most peoples lives ?

That the universe is inside a jar an alien has handed in for his coursework, he got a grade C

I simply can’t answer that but I know I asked the same thing.

I imagine, the only potential would be that it was more about them not knowing than lying and then maybe they couldn’t admit they were wrong? I just don’t know.

Trans people are all embroiled in some kind of plot to get children into the hands of paedophiles, how's that even supposed to work?! Had to defriend someone about that.

It took me ages to get my head around the earth being round as a kid despite having a massive globe in our sitting room.

I'm surprised that so many 'normal' people think that the moon landings were fake. Like it doesn't take much so weigh up the available evidence on both sides and come to the conclusion that it was a thing and it did happen. The arguments against are pretty weak.

My ex husband believed in a lot of really quite wacky conspiracy theories most of which I (thankfully) can’t remember the details of but one that stands out in my mind was something to do with tunnels under the earth that giants lived in that somehow also had something to do with the ancient Egyptians.
I think the Ancient Egyptians featured quite a lot.
I also went on a really interesting tangent not long after we split of trying to find the origin of as many of his theories as I could after accidentally stumbling across what seemed to have been the origin of a reoccurring theme of them in a book about anthropologists.

I have a friend who firmly believes the royal family drinks the blood of babies to maintain their youthful looks.

My colleague recently told me that she believes unicorns are real, just because we haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist. Or they might have become extinct. I guess the concept of a horned horse isn't ridiculous or impossible but she went on to say she thought the same about mermaids. She also believes in fairies. I just nod and smile.

My mum lives on YouTube and believes all kinds of conspiracies.

I was telling her about a Flat Earthers documentary I watched recently.
I was being very light hearted and saying what absolute nutjobs they were.

She got all huffy with me and it turns out she "has some doubts" about the Earth being round. So that's fun.

There’s a child minder and home schooler who is also a flat earther in a town local to me. My mind boggles at that.

NASA put men on the Moon via the Apollo programme because JFK wanted to fake it in order to meet his 1961 pledge, but they realised it would be too expensive and too difficult to fake it convincingly, so just went ahead with the real thing.

If we all died in 2021, then why am I still paying bills ?
.. the chemtrails one features heavily with my friends. They ( or someone / lots of people in the world) are blocking out the sun. Not sure if I believe this or not , but people are convinced by it.

I hope we didn’t die in 2021, my hair style was awful that year.

I had Covid in 2021 and thought I was going to die ( not being funny either ) Took days to feel better , but I did lose some weight. It was pretty horrible
Remember all the conspiracy theories over Covid, they still rumble on now.

I know two people who are anti vaxxers and have refused their children’s vaccines “because they cause Autism.”

There's a lady I see on my dog walk who went in hard for Covid conspiracies back in the pandemic. Now we mostly just talk about the dogs but Wednesday this week she actually started talking to me about Covid being a big lie etc. I quite liked it - the sun was shining, the road was quiet and it felt like being in lockdown all over again, it felt very nostalgic 😅
