What have you done in the real world that MN disapproves of?

As per the title.... what have you done in the real word that would have Mumsnetter's frothing at the mouth?

I will start.
Someone reversed into my (parked) car and we sorted it out ourselves (without informing insurance!😲) with them paying us to get it fixed (which has now been done).
Gosh..... aren't we naughty!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh gosh loads of things. I can't drive and I don't feel bad about it. I took WLI to lose weight and didn't try hard or suffer at all. My family and friends come round my house all the time without asking. I am friends with people who vote differently to me and I don't argue with them about it and sometimes I agree with their views. I tell other people's kids off if they are doing my head in or endangering themselves. 😱

KeyLimeCake · 10/04/2026 15:09

I still celebrate my birthday despite being a grown up.

I made a bunch of friends at the school gates, still friends years later.

If someone makes a mistake, I don't deliberately try to make them feel bad about it. (Not all mumsnetters do that, but at least one per page per thread do).

I own an xl bully
I drove for 19 years without a license (have one now)
I drive an suv and about to buy a second one.
I breed dogs
my children’s ears were pierced at 4 months old

I dare you to do an AMA 😂😂

YerMotherWasAHamster · 10/04/2026 15:11

This is really funny.
All its showing is that there really is no mn way of doing things and everyone does things the way they want.
Which is how it should be.

NotMyRealAccount · 10/04/2026 15:12

Let my children meet my post-divorce boyfriends straight away because I wasn't prepared to have a relationship with someone my children didn't accept, and let my second husband move straight from his previous girlfriend's house into mine. It's not impossible that he fell in love with me because I had a house and our children got along well, but we turned out to be extremely compatible.

needapokerface · 10/04/2026 15:13

I introduced my now husband to my son and took him out with us on our 4th date 😱this was due to being widowed 7 years previously, no babysitters and my family living 300 miles away and unable to help.

Just incase anyone is wondering he was introduced as my friend which my son had no issues with as he had friends at school who were girls, so why should it be any different for his mum 😁

I've got to admit i'm so glad I wasn't on Mumsnet at the time can you imagine the amount of negative posts and comments I would have received.

I'm a rebel parent 😂

TheChosenTwo · 10/04/2026 15:13

We have a hot tub in our garden and we don’t live in the middle of nowhere.

I work with a transwoman and don’t feel threatened/upset/affected in any way by her existence.

We have more TVs in our house than people.

Already done multiple AMA 🤦🏻‍♀️

Welia · 10/04/2026 15:14

Oh, a new one to me actually. I call people love and sometimes flower! Didn't even know this one was HatedOnMN until just recently.

No plans to stop.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 10/04/2026 15:15

Eaten a very large 2kg chicken between 2 adults [one very greedy] and two children in one sitting with no leftovers. And sausages and all the rest.

I couldn't give less of a shit about trans people using public loos or private ones for that matter. Leave it clean.

Nor do I particularly care about the odd boy playing netball or joining the girl guides. Olympic boxing and sport at a high level I do recognise is an issue and would have to agree that there is a physical advantage and it is regretfully not something to make an exception about.

Statsquestion1 · 10/04/2026 15:16

I live in a new build and we have two brand new cars bought outright 😅

namechangeabc123 · 10/04/2026 15:16

I enjoy fashion and have a moderate interest in passing trends. I am soooo shallow.

Same, also duck, chicken and lovey/lovely. No shame 🤦🏻‍♀️

barkygoldie · 10/04/2026 15:17

This is quite funny, I’m amazed at the lack of judgement arriving in the thread so far.

All the hygiene ones I defy, don’t wash my bedsheets every week, wipe my bum with loo roll only, often forget to cut my kids nails until they start scratching people by accident.

Oh and recently I learned that I’m a renegade because I have no set order in which I put on underwear and socks…

DreamyJade · 10/04/2026 15:17

Had the odd row with DH where we’ve both used a few choice words in anger. When we had both calmed down, we’d apologise to each other and reach a compromise and move on.

We have never called it ‘abuse’, and though less than ideal, just accept that people do sometimes react poorly in an argument.

Screamingabdabz · 10/04/2026 15:19

I’m judgey and I don’t care. Reading some of the posts on this thread makes me itch “I own an XL bully”. Ugh.

Middlechild3 · 10/04/2026 15:19

Peed in the shower

Enigma54 · 10/04/2026 15:19

I don’t live within walking distance of every shop, supermarket, green space, theatre, cinema, museum and independent coffee shop, known to man!

I live near a city, not in one.

Strangerthanfictions · 10/04/2026 15:20

I get quite pissed now and again and have a total laugh with some hazy bits and being a bit daft with my friends. I have not checked myself into rehab, I have not woken up to find my house a police crime scene, I appear able to handle it and enjoy drinking more than a couple of glasses of wine now and again without it ruining my entire life

Cocodonut · 10/04/2026 15:20

Stayed on benefits for years.
Bought my council flat.
Make extensive use of disabled theme park passes.

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/04/2026 15:21

Where do I start 😆

Loulou4022 · 10/04/2026 15:21

I don’t go non contact with others, I talk to them like an adult and sort out the problem or seethe quietly over it for a few days, rant about it to DH and forget about it!

Bikergran · 10/04/2026 15:21

The age gap shock horror really gets me!! When I was 15 (but looked older) my first "dating" boyfriend was 26, he had a job and a car, so he could take me out to the cinema, for meals etc. In return he got a bit of a kiss and cuddle, never pressured me for more. Went out with his friends and their partners, always treated like a lady. Boys my own age were silly little kids with no money, no conversation, and always trying to get their grubby hands in my knickers.

Myblueclematis · 10/04/2026 15:25

I don't shower every day 😱
