What have you done in the real world that MN disapproves of?

As per the title.... what have you done in the real word that would have Mumsnetter's frothing at the mouth?

I will start.
Someone reversed into my (parked) car and we sorted it out ourselves (without informing insurance!😲) with them paying us to get it fixed (which has now been done).
Gosh..... aren't we naughty!🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'd be more worried about someone stealing my car whilst engine is running and I'm packing my work bag 😳

I live in a little off shoot of a cul de sac. The whole street is kind of hidden away with no reason to go down but my little side street is way at the end with the cars concealed by bushes and needs a 5 point turn to actually get the car out so the risk is really very low

Ah ....it's a good job. :)

I found another one today. I pop out 5 mins before I have to leave on a frosty morning to turn car engine on to defrost windscreen while I pack my work bag and get the dog organised. That 5 mins from my low emission car with an engine smaller than most motorbikes is apparently responsible for global warming (never mind the 45 minutes of crawling traffic I and thousands of others have sit in after for my commute). On mumsnet I’d be banished from society but in really life plenty people do exactly the same

But you’re not ‘sitting in traffic’, OP. You are the traffic.

Plumber came yesterday to sort out a problem with our boiler.
Easy fix with no parts required and he was done in 30mins.
Asked how much, he said £50 so I paid him in CASH!!!!!!!😱😱😱

Give our adult sons and grandchildren money whether they really need it or not.
Pay to take them all on family holidays.

I wear skinny jeans.
I don't have a guest bedroom.

Genuine question - does MN hate guest bedrooms? I'd bloody love one.

Good rage bait there.

For me.. I don't shower every single day, nor do I change every item of clothing every day. There's no need, it's so wasteful! Everyone is so concerned with "saving the planet" but they're happy to change every item every day.

The cheek of you to accuse someone of rage baiting when there’s a smell of fish off you lol go wash ya flange girl 😷

No, but I admit to feeling irrationally enraged by the demented posts by Mners determined to be the Hostess With the Mostest, and who want to detail the thoughtful bedside book selection, the vase of flowers, the spotlit mirror, blackout blinds, the pillow menu, tea and coffee station, little basket of sanitary towels, facial wipes, dental floss, bottled water both still and sparkling etc.

I think there are a lot of fantasists on MN...😆

I always used to let people cuddle my babies. I let workmen use my loo. I let my cat wander. I’m a feminist. I vote Labour. I quite like my MIL. I let my children go on sleepovers if they wanted to. I happily give lifts. I don’t fart in front of other people unless I’m caught unawares (that is the only time it’s funny). My children had very little routine and co slept. I have no issue with cooking for vegans/vegetarians even though I’m a meat eater. I could go on!

Tryonemoretime · 30/07/2026 20:23

I'm seriously considering voting Reform.....

EmeraldDreams73 · 30/07/2026 21:11

Am fat.
Didn't breastfeed, couldn't bear the idea.
Probably many more...

I met a friends newborn grandchild and I stroked his cheek…the Mum asked me straight away to hold him so she could drink her coffee! I also let traders use our loo, offer them drinks and cake and my children went on sleepovers regularly and I didn’t micromanage them after school..watching TV and chilling worked well for them. All fully functional adults, good jobs and happy with their upbringing!
