What have you done in the real world that MN disapproves of?

As per the title.... what have you done in the real word that would have Mumsnetter's frothing at the mouth?

I will start.
Someone reversed into my (parked) car and we sorted it out ourselves (without informing insurance!😲) with them paying us to get it fixed (which has now been done).
Gosh..... aren't we naughty!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Have you considered or taken legal advice on what will happen if either of you dies or if you split up? Marriage or civil partnership gives a lot more security.

Think you missed the point of the thread

ThWildRose · 13/04/2026 13:03

I let a tradesman use my toilet and I didnt think anything of it

I genuinely don't understand why people don't get married when they start a family together, have children and become a unit

"Because feelings" I guess

I thought everyone did this! Is it a faux-pax now somehow?

There has been threads with posters fuming that as a single diner they then can't find a table once they have got their food/drink. They feel it is unfair if they were in the queue before someone with a second person who can reserve a table.

Accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, happily accepted my husbands last name and stayed married to him for 20+ years, rejected feminism, left my career to be a SAHW/M and many, many more things

One of my husband’s Aunties is called May. She called her first daughter June. So he has an Aunty May and a cousin June 🤣

My aunty is called june too 😂

Anabla · 14/04/2026 13:03

One thing that is very important to me is eating round a table as a family for meal times and trying to eat, healthy homecooked food (though as I mentioned earlier I have plenty of times where I eat freezer, ready made food!)

However this doesn't apply to mornings. My four year old gets given cereal and fruit juice to eat in front of the TV which buys me time to get myself and everything else ready. There's absolutely no way I'm adding to the morning rush by cooking eggs or making porridge or fruit platters or anything else I should be doing!

Are you a Traveller of part of the Romany Community?
Sorry. Just joking

Were you? A lot might have thought the same!

cornflakecrunchie · 15/04/2026 14:20

Couldn't care less about anyone's sexuality - what's it got to do with me?
We shared finances when I was married.
Hate the bloody boat people coming here. All men, yet do gooders defend it..
Little dogs.. why? They're AWFUL.
Don't slam your windows shut, neighbours, when I have a cigarette in the garden. I'm out there for two mins, unlike your family with their stinky weed.
Being covered in tattoos. No probs with the odd one.
I'm getting older - I hate lots of things!

Gymnopedie · 15/04/2026 16:01

I've just had the annual boiler service. When the (male) engineer asked if he could use the loo I said 'of course'. I'm still alive and I don't need to burn the house down.

ICanFeelItComingInTheAirTonight · 15/04/2026 17:04

I wear skinny jeans.
I don't have a guest bedroom.

Perhaps he sat to pee!

Why don't people let tradesmen working in their house use the bathroom?

Because some dirty bastards pee everywhere, do a smelly dump and don’t treat the place with respect?

Then after the first time they do it, don't let them do it again

Not going to risk it with some unknown worker! I know some of the workmen who come to my house and they wouldn’t treat it like that.

Ask on another thread and I’ll explain it to you.

shrunkenhead · 22/04/2026 18:39

I answer the door if someone knocks on it.
If someone parks in "my" parking space outside my house I park elsewhere (I don't even feel tempted to post on MN about it) and then move my car when they've left.

GinaandGin · 22/04/2026 19:56

Have the tv on in the morning and sometimes I even have the audacity to watch it whilst having my coffee

liveforsummer · 07/05/2026 23:21

I found another one today. I pop out 5 mins before I have to leave on a frosty morning to turn car engine on to defrost windscreen while I pack my work bag and get the dog organised. That 5 mins from my low emission car with an engine smaller than most motorbikes is apparently responsible for global warming (never mind the 45 minutes of crawling traffic I and thousands of others have sit in after for my commute). On mumsnet I’d be banished from society but in really life plenty people do exactly the same

I'd be more worried about someone stealing my car whilst engine is running and I'm packing my work bag 😳
