Yup. And as we know, once they are backed into a corner they just go start a new thread and say the same stuff. There are some small changes though. One has gone from "Iran IS doing war crime", to "Iran MIGHT be doing war crime. But that won't last.

Takes me back to my days doing battle with Flat Earthers. But nobody is dying because of their mistruths.

Hahaha, I noticed that, and thought, our @RedTagAlan has found a new friend! That poster does like having the last word tho. Good on you for being both even handed and persistent!

logicisall · 10/04/2026 05:06

That didn't take long did it.
Marc Beckman, Exclusive Senior Advisor to First Lady Melania Trump, told the Daily Mail of the timing of the statement: 'First Lady Melania Trump spoke out now because enough is enough. The lies must stop.
'It is time for the public and media to focus on her incredible achievements as First Lady, the lives she has positively impacted, and her commitment to our nation.'

Trump claims he was BLINDSIDED by Melania's Epstein bombshell

Donald Trump has claimed that he was blindsided by Melania's shocking statement blasting 'smears' linking her to Jeffrey Epstein.

Not persistence. Just a case of who wants the last word most :-)

I am careful where I apply that though. DD "out last words" me near all the time.

Small joys in these troubled times. Trump does more lashing than a sailor at knot school. CNN :

"Trump slams conservative pundits critical of the US-Iran war in lengthy social media post

By Donald Judd

President Donald Trump blasted right-wing pundits who’ve criticized the war in Iran in a lengthy social media post today, slamming Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Alex Jones and Candace Owens as “stupid people” and “NUT JOBS.”
“I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs,” Trump wrote in the 482-word Truth Social post. “They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!”
The president lobbed personal insults at the individual pundits, writing Carlson — who departed Fox News in 2023 shortly after the network settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems — “couldn’t even finish College, he was a broken man when he got fired from Fox, and he’s never been the same.”
He also lambasted Kelly for tough questions during a 2015 Republican primary debate and Owens for spreading conspiracy theories suggesting French first lady Brigitte Macron is secretly a man.
Carlson, Kelly, Owens and Jones have supported Trump in the past, with Kelly and Carlson even campaigning for him in 2024 — but all four have been vocally critical of the administration’s war with Iran.
“These so-called ‘pundits’ are LOSERS, and they always will be!” Trump wrote Thursday. “MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH in not allowing Iran to have Nuclear Weapons.”"

Just remembered something about bees.

The King is big on bees. Massive on bees. It's one of his specialist subjects. I would bet for sure he knows of the place Turd has closed.

CaveMum · 10/04/2026 06:59

TRIP US a good one today.

Going to listen to the Leading interview with Zelenskyy and see how diplomatic he can be about the US administration.

MsJinks · 10/04/2026 07:02

I always assumed Melania sort of worked her way up, via Epstein - so meeting and getting Trump via parties they were both at.

I thought it was like work for her and as she gets more established the pre nup improves and she has to spend less and less time with him (this para just my own thoughts ha!)

I thought many people thought this but apparently they didn’t? I mean it didn’t matter originally really I suppose but no one surely thought they met at a high society function whilst she was studying/working on some Einstein type endeavour!

I’d still rather know what Trump’s involvement was - it must be beyond dire and imaginable - so not ‘rather know’ but think we should I guess!

Not really got a lot of time for his wife, but as said just view her as doing her job to get out of poverty in the way many women always have and it also smacks of another woman taking the backlash rather than the men - but that is of course a personal view of it all.

There is something King Charles could talk about with Trump. But, in the middle of all this, do we want to send UK king to the US with Trump? It could turn into quite a hot diplomatic mess.

I still can’t understand how Catholics can justify being annoyed at the Pope - he’s not just an elected leader (which we could all argue means nada about fitness now!) but he’s the successor of St Peter etc to Catholics - so it’s surely against your Catholic faith not to respect him for that?

That’s a bit confusing ha - anyway, from my memory of RE/Sunday school/general life in a basically Christian based country - his views are hardly wild or radical and just fit with biblical teachings.

I just don’t know how they manage the disconnect between the head of their church and the head of their country - the church I think should outweigh the country for them? I would think it may be most awkward for Vance - if I believed in his ‘faith’ in anything but ‘Vance’!

I’m not religious but I do like this Pope calling them out though and also do believe that surely that’s part of his actual job - it’s also good I think, as country leaders are not perhaps as free to do this.

MsJinks · 10/04/2026 07:13

Bees - I run from them in my home - but am big on liking them and would have thought everyone should be invested in their survival.

She was never studying in the US. She was working illegally on a tourist visa. Going home every 6 months or whatever to get a new one, or a stamp.

Those of us people who considered doing it know how it is done. The clues are right there her book apparently. Depends on what country you are from on how it is done.

Some words from Starmer.
Nice to read.
He is clear on Lebanon, the hope on holding of the ceasefire for good and the no toll at the Strait. Plus getting closer to the EU.

Lots of fine words with "we" doing some heavy lifting..

TBH it would be nice if there was some actual action from his Government on defence spending:

Ah I know this - was just repeating their ‘story’ re some intelligence visa - did Trump/melania put this story out there specifically, or it was it just a normal sort of cover story for a lot of people?

I don’t really judge people who do this - they have their reasons - I may judge later actions though!

14 years of underfunding by the conservatives.
That doesn't suddenly get turned round also the cuts to personnel.

MushMonster · 10/04/2026 08:05

One step at a time for Starmer.
I am not much of a fan.
But I think he is a steady worker.
I wish he was telling us more of where UK stands on this, what we are doing.
I am 100% sure he is doing the right things, on the right direction, but miss being told about it a bit more.

MushMonster · 10/04/2026 08:09

I will have to wait till this evening to get all the details of the Vance-Netanyahu leak!
Let's hope for a settlement of an actual ceasefire across the Middle East today.
And no Trump Socials! Please somebody takes the thing off Trump!

I agree with this. Expectations are awfully high considering the state of things, which really can't be laid at his door.

Exactly. If he moved funding from elsewhere, he'd rightly be slated for it because all government funded services are squeezed. If he increased taxes to fund it, he'd be slated for it.

America, Colby (the Under Secretary of War for Policy) and his colleagues told the cardinal, has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side

They are all drunk on power, it’s not just Donald Trump.

I would like to think that the mid terms will bring some order and rein things in but to be honest I really wouldn’t be surprised if Americans don’t abandon Trump and the GOP in sufficient numbers to effect real change.

That’s how little faith I have in them I’m afraid.

I don't know. Democrats have cleaned up in almost every election since the presidential one. Elections for school board seats, city councils, judges, state senate seats, governorships, have all gone the right way. Whether or not there will be free and fair elections is another question.

And with Reform leading the polls yesterday despite Farage's role in Brexit, his corruption, his ongoing support for Trump and other Russian-propped puppets, and his obvious and odious lies, I'm not sure we're in much of a stone-throwing position.

“Focus on her incredible achievements as First Lady”

😂

When it drops, I hope it’s like a sledgehammer. Because you know full well that Trump will gleefully chuck his own wife under the bus as well.

On Saturday, the US and Iranian teams are expected to sit in separate rooms, with Pakistani officials carrying messages between them.

Hopefully the translators are neutral beings.
