Yes I am thinking of my family.
We have tried to be nice to Trump and it did not work. He just carries on thinking he is better and no one will present an obstacle to his plans. And we do not. We just stay on the sides, quiet.
I think, and I get that you may not, that is time to match Trump energy and just tell him to his face, nope. If Starmer can find a way of being assertive without being blunt or rude, like I am, then great! But we cannot be quiet. We need Carney's energy. Action, to move away from Trump ASAP. Trump is only trouble. Being quiet around Trump is only trouble. And the US is done and dusted, thanks to Mr Trump.
Now, he is plotting to charge for transit through Hormuz... my family will pay, alongside yours. And, well, they have not bombed anyone. No bullies, no bullying countries with war and bombs.
No way UK should stay quiet.
Ok, maybe yes for today till the ceasefire settles (or starts, better said....), but in the near future ( like tomorrow), we need to stand up for ourselves!

I can understand the motivation. However I feel it would be counter productive to succumb to it. Think smart, not loud.

Pakistan doesn't actually formally recognise Israel, alongside several other Muslim majority nations (Indonesia, Sudan, Bangladesh, Algeria etc) so they're in an interesting position if they want their diplomacy skills to have any real effect on them.

The NYT article linked earlier perfectly highlighted how he’s tried to avoid being dragged into the mess. No way will he carry the can for (failed) negotiations.

That said he might have been a better option than Witkoff and Krushner.
