Have Amsterdam landed now? I don't have time to read the full thread as going back on shift but curious!!

Yes, safely back in Amsterdam after almost 3 hours in the air!

strawlight · 05/04/2026 01:29

I reckon Tenerife is going to try approaching from the south., and I reckon they’ll do it.

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 01:30

Phew - Dublin have landed - albeit in Manchester

Interested in this thread?

Gone to spare room in attic as can’t sleep and discovered this thread. Now kicking myself for leaving phone on bedside table as don’t have FR on my iPad. Lying here under flightpath for LBA and could be watching the drama of the skies above me play out on screen. ☹️

despite only a 20mins drive away I pick Manchester for any winter flights. I hate landing there.

Looks like it. Both Ryanair Dublin down in Manchester. All the other Man flights slotting into place behind.

Yes. Same time as a flight from Dalaman into Leeds landed on first attempt. Except the Amsterdam one landed back where it took off. Alas.

Guess they’ll get a night in an airport hotel and try again tomorrow.

MadisonAvenue · 05/04/2026 01:32

Girona is following the same circle as Tenerife.

On target to be at 1750ft as it crosses the ring road.

Oh no, it’s going back up again.

Ah brilliant, that's good to know. Well done Amsterdam pilot! Thanks.

L0bstersLass · 05/04/2026 01:34

The two flights trying to land at LBA are the most tracked worldwide right now!
Over 5000 people watching the Tenerife flight!

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 01:34

Tenerife is climbing again

Leeds Bradford airport is basically on top of a moor. It’s always windy and foggy even at the best of times.

Well, not really. It's not the best place for an airport, I'll give you that, and it is mostly windy ( not always a bad thing, you can land into wind) and it's not always foggy 😀

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 01:35

Wonder if Girona will try

Picpac876 · 05/04/2026 01:35

Oooph. Failed attempt from Tenerife

LadyPorkPie · 05/04/2026 01:35

Such a shame about the Tenerife one! I think they should divert all traffic from Leeds to Manchester or Newcastle now or return to base.

Is that mainly so we can all go to sleep?

How do you use flight radar?

Girona might be more willing to divert to Manchester as they've already handled some diversions from Leeds to Manchester. Jet2 I would guess would be more reluctant to do so. Home ground etc.

purpleme12 · 05/04/2026 01:37

We're near Leeds and it's really windy

Mostly but seems according to the wind map it’s picking up again now in that area 😞😭

Seeingadistance · 05/04/2026 01:38

Tenerife heading to Manchester now.

Bjorkdidit · 05/04/2026 01:38

I'm in Leeds and was woken up by the storm about half an hour ago. Its wild out there.

I've been on a few 'windy' landings at LBA, its not fun. But fortunately they've all got down first time and not had to go around or divert. Just seen that some of the flights supposed to land here got diverted to Stansted, what a pain. Then the Amsterdam flight went back there.
