Right - I’m going to see if Tenerife lands at Leeds then I am definitely going to bed 🙈

But.. but… Dublin is due just a few minutes later…

Pilot didn’t even attempt it. May be heading for Newcastle

Ignore that - I need to go to bed 🤣

Ryanair from TIA has just aborted a landing at Edinburgh. I'm not surprised. It's just got VERY gusty round here.

That’s odd. I’m just north of EDI and it’s gone very quiet here in the last half hour. Thought the wind was dropping right off. 2 flights have had to re circle and another 3 stacking.

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 01:07

Tenerife didn’t land at Leeds. Will see what Dublin does

And then there's Girona which is just passing Derby at present. By the time Tenerife and Dublin are done it should be time for that.

I tracked my daughter on a BA flight to Washington and the plane disappeared off the west coast of Ireland and went into the past tense. I freaked out for two whole hours

I tracked my daughter on a flight alone to Australia via Abu Dhabi.
No contact whatsoever for 24 hours. I spent a sleepless night. Worrying.

Got a text from her next morning saying G' day mother! Sunny here!

Almost collapsed with relief.

I know it's just run of the mill stuff for wealthy globetrotters with private jets.
But it's a big thing when you're not used to it. Also it was a business trip, just her, and she knew nobody at the other end.

It was all fine and she was welcomed and looked after and they'd gone to the lengths of booking a couple of female company staff into the same hotel
so that she had instant access to any assistance she might need.

Australians are bloody great. They thought of everything.

I’ve been on the last flight in before they closed LBA, it was a bit hairy to say the least!

When was that? was it closed after your flight due weather?

AlwaysLookOnTheBrightSideOfLife · 05/04/2026 01:11

Great ad for Jet2 tonight...

Poshjock · 05/04/2026 01:12

EDI 2 landed. Others coming in on track. 1 EasyJet struggling at MAN looks to be going for attempt 2.

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 01:13

Tenerife not landed. Where is Dublin going?

Picpac876 · 05/04/2026 01:14

Don't know what's going on at Leeds. The Tenerife Jet2 seems to be circling and the Dublin flight looks to be heading back the way it came.

strawlight · 05/04/2026 01:16

Tenerife and Dublin now at similar heights in the holding loop. EDIT: Dublin gave up. Come on Tenerife!

Ryanair are known for slamming it down and braking hard at the best of times (something to do with it being a shorter runway) so it could be a bit of a bumpy one!

Jet2 have more to lose by diverting as many/most of their flights are holidaymakers with kids and suitcases and hotel package deals. There are several due to jet off to the sunshine early morning, so it’s a total pain in the arse and costly for them if planes and crew aren’t in situ ready to fly.

Picpac876 · 05/04/2026 01:16

Dublin flight is Ryanair like the earlier one that diverted to Manchester. Could be it's going there as well? Could put them all together on some coaches to Leeds.

Edited

Absolutely, and given they've got a big presence there I'm guessing they'd lose out more logistically for their cabin crew.

EZY from Agadir seems to be holding for somewhere near the Dublin Leeds flight.

Tenerife not landed. Where is Dublin going?

I thought it was going to try Manchester but it looks to be turning back towards Leeds.

There’s a flight from Girona heading towards Leeds now. Let’s see what that does.

strawlight · 05/04/2026 01:21

Is Dublin doublin back?

Girona has joined the party.

Given Jet2 Tenerife doesn't look to be attempting any landings and there's now Girona nearby, could it be they're trying to figure out slots at Manchester?

Looks like it may follow the other Ryanair from Dublin into Manchester

Picpac876 · 05/04/2026 01:23

Dublin for Leeds looks like it's going to fall in behind the other Ryanair flight from Dublin and land at Manchester. Guessing Agadir backed off to allow them to slot in.

Poshjock · 05/04/2026 01:26

there’s quite a queue for MAN, is Tenerife going to join them?

Greenfingered1 · 05/04/2026 01:27

Have Amsterdam landed now? I don't have time to read the full thread as going back on shift but curious!!
