I must say that the Dalaman pilot seemed to approach that landing very assertively from what one can tell on Flight Radar. Good stuff!

Though why I’m surprised I don’t know as I already use MyShipTracking - my gf lives on the Firth of Forth & I can see the ships so closely, I spend half my time when visiting her tracking them on the app then waiting for them to appear in front of me 😀

I grew up in Bradford & had family at Yeadon (it’ll always be Yeadon Airport to me 😀) so this is particularly interesting. I’ve flown in & out of that airport & had no idea it’s such a difficult one. Every day’s a school day on Mumsnet!

Only up to a point. Then they switch their transponder off when it becomes necessary.

Only four or five planes have managed to land tonight, all Jet2 I think.

Dublin to Leeds set off a few mins ago. It’s usually a 35-40 minute flight so will see if that one lands. It’s still really gusty but poss easing a bit. Four others due in the next couple of hours.

Leeds Bradford airport is basically on top of a moor. It’s always windy and foggy even at the best of times.

Antalya Newcastle landed. Night all.

Tenerife was jet2 as well, as is Antalya- Newcastle which is also down now.

Ryanair pilots are highly skilled you know!!!!

Ryanair from TIA has just aborted a landing at Edinburgh. I'm not surprised. It's just got VERY gusty round here.
