I’m near Leeds airport and we still have really strong gusts of wind. Wheely bins ahoy!

Jet2 is known for getting the planes down even in high winds, when other airlines do not. They are based here though, it’s their home turf and their pilots are well versed in the intricacies of landing here. KLM rarely succeeds but they’ve really tried tonight!

I used to live 3 miles from LBA. It is the highest airport in the UK and is the most fog bound as well.

I'm glad I'm not flying in this weather.

I’m watching the Amsterdam - Leeds safely back to Amsterdam then off to bed.

Unfortunately it is slowing - perhaps a busy Schiphol - when I last looked 22 mins to landing, now 39 mins.

Goodness it is going to be a near three hours ( for a usual 1 hour flight).

Pilot must be shattered, poor crew and passengers.

if i ever get lost at sea off the coast of ireland, i will be thrilled to discover that is their search pattern - will make the seafaring peril worthwhile 😁
