£43000 a month. 11 bedrooms. Bargain.

fouroclockrock · 02/04/2026 21:46

If I drop to 1 mile it goes down to a disappointing £5000 for 4 bedrooms.

There’s only two, I don’t think people use zoopla in my area. On a local estate agents it’s 1k, 3 bed, 2 bathrooms, out of the town in a small village

EwwPeople · 02/04/2026 21:50

Cheapest is £120 a month… for a parking space.😬

Tillow4ever · 02/04/2026 21:52

£3,650 for a 2 bedroom place! Nuts!

Flyingeyeball · 02/04/2026 21:53

£2240 Highest
£525 Lowest.

It's interesting as within the five mile radius of my home there are some very naiice areas as well as some very much struggling areas so quite a wide range in the radius.

MardyBum99 · 02/04/2026 21:54

£15k/mth 6 beds 5 baths also previously for sale for a mere £3m!

£1950. A converted lighthouse gave me travel sickness looking at the pics.

its been up for rather a long time

Twoshoesnewshoes · 02/04/2026 22:01

There isn’t anything on there within five miles of me!

Youspurnme · 02/04/2026 22:01

£130,000 pcm. Don’t mind if I do.

mindutopia · 02/04/2026 22:03

£1600 for a not that impressive 5 bed mid terrace.

Though admittedly, there were only 11 properties for rent anywhere within 5 miles of us. I think this says a lot about the local rental market (which is scare).

That said, we pay £1600 mortgage pcm on a massive 5 bedroom detached house on 5 acres with outbuildings in a national park! Quite depressing to think of paying that for a shitty mid terrace in a depressing market town with a decent amount of crime. 😳

Bloopbloopbleep · 02/04/2026 22:08

I live in Liverpool but the top rent 5m from me is 130k PCM. WTAF

XenoBitch · 02/04/2026 22:10

£3765 for 2 bed house.
Absolutely nuts!

Years ago, we were house hunting and had a viewing of a 3 bed place that was selling for about £130k. I saw it on Rightmove for rent few years ago... for £3kpm.

Bloodycrossstitch · 02/04/2026 22:11

£2600 pcm for a tbf really lovely 3 bed semi detached cottage in a nice village.

Highest price to buy is £7.5 million for a 50 acres of farm land with planning permission to build 150 houses in a very picturesque area or £1.9 million for a 5 bed mcmansion not far from the land that’s for sale.

If I limit it to just my town the highest rent is £895 pcm (there’s a few at this price but all 2 bedrooms) and highest sale price is £418k for a 4 bed new build.

firstofallimadelight · 02/04/2026 22:12

£1600 for a 4 begin one of the nicer areas is most expensive on zoopla

The house over the road from me is a five bed. It’s rented to 3 couples it’s £1800 split 3 ways.

TheUsualChaos · 02/04/2026 22:15

£3000 pcm for 6 bed terraced. It's really nothing special, not in a particularly desirable area but has HMO so set up for a professional share or students. Only one proper bathroom though 🤢

purpleheartsandroses · 02/04/2026 22:16

Some of these have got to be money laundering, surely? No one with the kind of financial sense to earn 80k PCM would have the financial negligence to spend that on rent.

SleeplessInWherever · 02/04/2026 22:19

£17,500, 4 beds in Alderley Edge.

Pretty much what I would have expected, a bit less if anything!

My thoughts too.

The LHA (so the max you can get in housing benefit for a private rental) for a 2 bed place where I live is £720pm. Yet there are places here that are over £3k for a 2 bed place. There must be something dodgy going on.

justasking111 · 02/04/2026 22:22

2.5k for a two bedroom apartment.
