This is a smoking appreciation thread for traditional tobacco (please no vapes). Pipes, holders, roll ups and cigars.

Anyone still enjoy a good smoke?

Didn't know there was such a thing as a good smoke. It's 2026 not 1956. My father and mother smoked. No guesses as to what caused their deaths

I'm on the roll ups now, and love a cigar! I've decided when I hit 50 I'm going to start smoking a pipe. It'll probably kill me, but I enjoy it.

I've never smoked a pipe but my grandad did and whenever I smell pipe tobacco im taken back to long summer days helping him potting up in his potting shed (old Anderson shelter). I will always love that smell

Used to love a cigarette, would love to start smoking again if it wasn’t so harmful.

Aaaah my dear departed dad loved a cigar. I love the smell, reminds me of him every time.

And I love cigarettes. I know, I know how awful it is, but I’m terribly addicted and I do enjoy them. Maybe one day I’ll be able to stop when life isn’t so difficult, but that never seems to happen. I’d save my health and a fortune. In the meantime, mmm Silk Cut. Also a big old bifter on the proper occasion.

I’ll get crucified on this thread and fair dos. I am monumentally stupid to have got hooked all those years ago, but on a rare tobacco appreciation thread maybe I can say it… mmmm tobacco.

I love the smell of pipe tobacco. It reminds me of my father. Rarely get to smell it now, though.

Fag lover who just hasn't had one for over 20 years but would dearly dearly love to, just daren't as I would be back to 40 a day.

I love the smell of ciggies, cigars and pipes.

I wish I could be a social smoker because I love that buzz of the first cigarette of the day.

Finally, I was starting to think I was the only smoker on here😅I'm a very heavy smoker, love my roll ups in my liquorice rizlas😁 weird because I fucking hate liquorice but I can't seem to taste tobacco properly in a normal rizla🤷

Not stopping anytime soon either.

Half the reason I enjoy meeting up with my sisters every 6 weeks is that when I do we all take a 2 bottles of wine each and 20 Marlboro lights
drink the lot smoke the lot
it’s fucking brilliant
we are in our 50s and the cheeky smokes are the best bit

If smokers want to damage their own health and kill themselves that's up to them. But it's the fact that they damage the health and kill the unfortunate people who are second and third hand smokers that really annoys me.

And there is supposed to be a ban on advertising smoking which , in effect, is what OP is doing on this thread.

Love them - Marlboro gold as a 90's kid and totally classless. I plan to smoke in earnest again when I'm about 75, on the basis that by that point why worry about my health. Now they're a holiday treat (cheaper in Europe) or when things get really bad. (Vaping is the spawn of the devil, I got far more addicted to vapes than I did to fags)

I do smoke roll-ups because they're cheaper but in my opinion, you can't beat a proper cigarette - I really miss menthol cigarettes.

Not a fan of cigars though I have tried them. Never tried a pipe - should I @ShakyBake ?

I'm not interested in any lectures about smoking killing me. For various reasons I have no desire to live to a great age.

Well why don’t you and @Pedallleur go and start your own “we don’t like people that smoke and have positioned ourselves as people that get to correct others that do” thread?

This is a thread on a public forum and other posters are allowed to post their views even if you don't like them.

It beggars belief that MN are allowing a thread which is openly promoting smoking. And you trying to silence posters trying to counteract the smoking apologists on the thread says a lot about smokers.

Prob have to push by the smokers on the other side who will be coughing and throwing their butts on the floor

I smoked 30 a day for decades and hate smoking but FFS love, give it a rest. It's NOYB really, is it? I loved reading the reminiscing posts. So evocative of a time in my past - especially the wine and fags one!! I really enjoyed reading that.

Grown adults with autonomy are free to make their own choices, even if they are different to yours and are entitled to do so.

Why come to a thread to berate people for discussing something they enjoy, just because you don’t like it?

Yes it is my business.
My mother died of throat cancer directly due to her smoking habit.
I've moved house twice because of cigarette smoke ingress from neighbour's houses.
Smoking is a habit which affects the whole of society and people promoting it as something good is ridiculous and dangerous
