Agreed, so I'll pay some extra cat tax instead.

This thread is very much laden with posters who suffer a terrible drawback in modern life whereby the afflicted have very little time for words, but prefer to look at deeds.

And I am quite sure a lot of them like myself would be quite happy to discuss the philosophy around the assertion that choosing not to act is still a choice. As Rush sang, in "Freewill".

PMQs is style over substance, point scoring, shouting and some tame jokes

If Trolley thinks Badenoch 'won' then who are we to argue Wink

For a second I thought you were referring to Johnson! 🛒

Well, according to @cardibach , Starmer did answer the question. So clearly you just didn't like his answer.

I suspect that any answer other than 'Oh yes, great St. Kemi, you are right about everything, please take over as PM right now' wouldn't satisfy certain people.

Well cardi is wrong. It's a simple thing..I dont understand why he doesn't

So two of us quite independently watched today’s PMQ and saw Starmer answering all the questions he was asked but somehow we’re both wrong?

Notonthestairs · 25/03/2026 16:13

Yet again we’ve attracted ploppers that only seem to have started to follow politics in July 2024. Funny that.

@cardibach isn't a 'he' either - so you're wrong about that too

Back to ignoring you now

And who need to disguise their other contributions to MN and change name.

Weird weird people.

Funny that.

The Rycroft proposal go beyond stopping crapto and capping donations from citizens abroad -

  • Requiring third-party campaigners to declare donations all year round, not just election periods, and allowing funding only from permissible donors.
  • More stringent checks on the source of funds from political donors, bringing it more into line with know-your-customer checks in the financial services industry.
  • Preventing donations from shell companies by ensuring funding is from post-tax profits rather than revenue.
  • Requiring foreign consultant lobbyists to join the official register, from which they are currently exempt because they do not charge VAT.
  • Banning foreign-funded political adverts outright.

Shame the Tories didn’t think to introduce this before Brexit - but not surprising they didn’t tackle it.

Piggywaspushed · 25/03/2026 16:22

I think it's the word Starmer if I'm honest. Hence the fan club allegations.

So today was exceptionally breezy with a chill in the air that could cut through glass. Easter is this Sunday week away and an early one. Braverman on x posted that she would love a bit more climate warming as Easter is in two weeks 😬.

Dense as a thicket of brambles.

Matthew Rycroft said he was “not pressing the panic button but I am ringing the alarm bell” in his report about risk of foreign interference in UK political system.

Well they should all be happy that people need their heating on that bit longer!

My heating kicked in earlier today and I was very thankful for it.

I've ordered two new radiators and finally have a plumber in to replace the old ones. They are excellent quality and should warm the house up better. Can't wait.

Are you really too silly to have known that we had tens of threads titled Johnson/Truss*/Sunak?
Or did politics only start for you in July 2024?

  • there wasn’t tens of threads about Truss obviously given her brief but fucking disastrous tenure
