Reform UK's Richard Tice claims donations crackdown shows Labour 'absolutely terrified' of his party's success

Notonthestairs · 25/03/2026 14:33

£12 million quid paid to Reform from man based in Thailand. Nothing odd about that at all.

I believe she holds a MEng

I used to work with professors of engineering. Really, really clever people but I wouldn't trust some of them to plan a kids birthday party. And totally unable to understand Macawbers equation when it came to departmental spending.

Her degree was Law

Her degree was Law

Then you’d have expected her to do better in PMQs than she managed today.

😂😂

She's a former software engineer and consultant. Apart from Meng she has a law degree.

Starmer is awful at PMQs. He has no answers.

He had plenty today. 🤷‍♀️

PandoraSocks · 25/03/2026 15:26

Badenoch said nothing in PMQs about the attack in Golders Green. Why was that, I wonder?

DuncinToffee · 25/03/2026 15:27

BIossomtoes · 25/03/2026 15:09

Then you’d have expected her to do better in PMQs than she managed today.

You'd also expect her to read up on the legislation of North Sea drilling.

Or maybe she had enough of experts......

Overseas donors should face annual cap on how much they can give to British political parties of between £100,000 and £300,000 says major review of foreign interference in British politics

Plus moratorium on crapto donations

(Bad news for Reform UK on both fronts)

and presumably overseas donors should also be British Citizens ?

I suspect many Reform/Tories would appreciate that joke. Far more offended by NT adverts and period dramas showing non white people.

I will own up here and say I sometimes find some inappropriate jokes funny - get annoyed with myself for doing so and obviously wouldn’t laugh and would still would call any ism out.

However that is just so disgusting, and I can’t fathom why or how it could be ‘funny’ - it isn’t a joke of any form - this is just a nasty homophobic sentence said publicly and manages (somehow as it’s a very low bar to get under) to lessen my view of Reform.

Notonthestairs · 25/03/2026 14:17

The Tories illegally closed Parliament rather than face debates.

Point of order. I am sure any new posters want this thread to be held to the same standards they hold Labour too.

Only the Prime Minister has the power to ask the Monarch to dissolve parliament.

Until 2019, one excuse for having a Monarch was their mysterious, supernatural ability to act as a bulwark against tyranny. A Monarch could refuse to pass an unlawful act.

Boris Johnson shattered that bullshit, lied to the Queen and unlawfully prorogued parliament. All on his own. Amazingly, the Tory party is not responsible for this outrage.

On with the thread.

MsJinks · 25/03/2026 15:37

Did anyone notice Rupert Lowe launched Restore this week? Saying out loud the bits even Farage keeps to himself - and possibly being too racist for many names Tiny Tim apparently - fairly unbelievable I know but embarrassed that some fellow citizens think this could be the party to support - probably that ‘joke’ guy will join.

Jimmy Carr has explained he likes to operate in that liminal space where a joke can make you laugh before you realise you should not have.

I am wary of people who struggle to understand a lot of humour. I am very much a believer that sense of humour is a derivative of intelligence, empathy and imagination.

PMQs is style over substance, point scoring, shouting and some tame jokes

If Trolley thinks Badenoch 'won' then who are we to argue Wink

My views about Reform couldn’t possibly lessen, as I already do consider most of those in that party as the lowest of the low. So a nasty homophobic comment isn’t going to shock me, although it disgusts me.

It really is the most disgusting comment I’ve ever seen by a politician, though, and that’s saying a lot.

I think it would be a great deal more useful if it wasn’t televised.

Well, according to @cardibach , Starmer did answer the question. So clearly you just didn't like his answer.

I suspect that any answer other than 'Oh yes, great St. Kemi, you are right about everything, please take over as PM right now' wouldn't satisfy certain people.
