Crikey. If the greens don't deal with that firmly, they will have handed the right whingers an actual stick to beat them with.

Not sure some on the right have a leg to stand on.

That won't stop them.

This is shocking, a big problem within the Green Party. They need to take urgent action.

And these arent random activists - they're party officers.

Sadly, it doesn't surprise me. Polanski needs to act fast and expel them all.

This is interesting.

Not good for Badenoch at all, only 11% think she would be the most capable PM.

Regarding the improvement in Starmer’s approval ratings, maybe that’s since Trump started his relentless verbal assaults on him? A lot of voters didn’t like the way Starmer was previously reluctant to criticise him.

SerendipityJane · 28/03/2026 10:31

I am intrigued how the endless drone of the right wing hysteria seems to disobey the laws of nature around how societies become inure to catastrophising.

I think the media is increasingly having to expend energy to try to maintain the fear. And that is sadly causing them to lose focus and let the Greenies slip past.

Which would sit nicely in history with the story about the US president who was so nakedly corrupt and in the pay of the oil barons that his final - genuinely earned - prize will be for services to Net Zero. No man has done more.

(I'd write more but I'm researching how I will fit my solar panels)

Badenoch won't make it to the next GE, IMHO. The Tories are predicted to lose hundreds of seats in May.

It's forever surprising that voters think Farage is capable and trustworthy as a PM.

Farage could drown kittens at his rallies, people would still support him. It is mystifying.

Not all that surprising really, though very depressing. It’s for the same reasons that Trump won a second Presidential term in the US.

BIossomtoes · 28/03/2026 10:49

I’ve just listened to yesterday’s News Agents with my jaw on the floor. The absolute lunacy of MAGA is breathtaking - and that’s what Farage wants here?

Perhaps he should drown puppies.

It's frustrating but ultimately the MSM seems incapable of promoting good news and outcomes. Thriving on negativity will have a backlash, unless it's with those people who love catastrophisng their lives as @SerendipityJane pointed out earlier.

The old fable of the challenge between the Sun and the Wind getting rid of a coat a person was wearing comes to mind. Wind thought they would win, but the person wearing the coat refused to let go of it despite a howling gale. Once the sun took up the challenge and started shinning, that person ultimately took of the coat.

Janes law is you can ignore 5% of anything (1 in 20 is an interesting ratio in human affairs ....). Adjust Farages polling in line with that takes it's shine off.

Yes. But that's a European fable.

I havent listened to that yet but I read a fascinating article in Foreign Affairs called The Age Of Kleptocracy.

It sets out in some detail how foreign policy is now 'largely subordinate to the private interests of the Trump family and retainers'. The dismantling of the NSC, state and defense departments in order to control outcomes and limit effective negotiations. Stopping the enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Suspending the Corporate Transparency Act and rejecting oversight of crapto.
A money laundering bonanza.

Everything becomes a means to divert wealth to themselves and hide it from the populace (because there is no means to scrutinise and regulate).

Bundling deals with Saudis/Qatar with deals that personally enrich the President and those around him (eg Ronald Lauder). The article also specifically makes reference to the Russian money used to influence Brexit and undermine our prosperity.

I dont have a subscription so I can't link to it - but its terrifying.

And clarifies exactly what some people might think they'll gain under a right wing government.

Trumps latest bouts of speaking to camera (I’d hesitate to call them ‘speeches’ or even ‘remarks’) seem to indicate his sundowning has increased pace. They are genuinely incomprehensible. I wonder when/if some iPhone will act on that? It’s becom8ng very obvious his mental capacity is in serious decline.

He's very happy to talk about anything, anything, including sex. It's very sad to watch and I cannot stand the sight of the man, or his voice.

Regarding energy self sufficency, the UK needs to double down on renewables.

The whole point of the net zero shift is that it is being driven by voters consumers now

I saw that. Very common in Alzheimer's when the filter is lost for inappropriate sexual comments to be made.

I’ve taken to finding transcripts or one of the accounts where somebody else reads them word for word. They seem even less coherent that way, as it happens. It is sad actually - or would be if it were happening to someone less totally obnoxious.

My favourite part was where he said that he only hangs around with losers. Looking at the administration that might be the most truthful thing he’s ever said.

In other news Truss is launching CPAC UK. Tickets go on sale next week. Presumably they’ll be able to find an unused phone box to hold it in.

She spoke at CPAC in Dallas (the News Agents episode was recorded there). She’s gone full on Islamophobic now.

I listened to that roo. It's absolutely bonkers. Sadly I have a cousin in the US and and Aunt (UK) who holds similar batshit views.

Except that he’ll never realise that he’s the biggest loser of all.
