How many bras do you own and how often do you change them and wash them ?

Came up in conversation with a friend who is now saying Im strange 🙄. I live in Southern Europe, in the winter I wear a bra for 1-2 days, in the summer I tend to change every day/ sometimes twice a day. I usually have 10-12 bras on rotation.
Friend says 4-5 days is fine and Im a clean freak.

I have dozens, some don't fit or are uncomfortable so I tend to stick with the same crowd and wear then wash over and over. I need to have a bra declutter... I wear for two days if I'm not sweaty, only one if I am sweaty. Have separate exercise bras so will change after that

If you’re declutterring and they’re still wearable ‘Smalls for All’ charity collects them for people in both Africa and the UK that couldn’t otherwise afford them 😊

I can’t believe most people change their bras every day! The only time I’ll not wear a bra again without washing it is the ones I wear to the gym. Regular days I go at least a week without washing my bra. I have about 4 I actually wear regularly. Am I gross? 🤢

No, I’m the same. Mumsnet is notoriously anal about this kind of thing.

Allseeingallknowing · 24/03/2026 18:33

12- have had a clear out! Wear them for 4-5 days but change more frequently in summer!

I live in sports bras as I'm in the gym every day and find them a lot more comfy than most other bras. I change them twice a day and have a selection of about 12, some from Tesco, others from sporty brands.

AnnaQuayRules · 24/03/2026 18:37

I wear mostly sports bras, I've got about 6 and change them every day. I've also got 4 fancy/pretty bras which I wear out in the evenings, sometimes I'll only wear one for a few hours so I might wear it again the next time I'm going out.

Same, but I was too scared to say 🤣🤣🤣

Same 😂 I'm pretty rigorous with washing other clothes but not bras for some reason. I don't tend to sweat, and I spend half of each day in gym gear anyway. Most of the other half in pjs (braless) so I only wear for a few hour each day but mine can last weeks. 🤣 I couldn't be arsed washing them like knickers (which incidentally, I change twice a day at least, I've just realised I'm weird)

Are you related to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, by any chance?

Told my husband shortly after meeting him that I don't really sweat and now he calls me prince Andrew. Cos he's hilarious 😂 (my husband, not AMW obvs)

Me too but I'm not sure why. Everything else is changed every day except skirts but bras just get washed when I think about it.

MrFluffyDogIsMyBestFriend · 24/03/2026 19:30

My exH and one DS must have the no BO gene and have never needed deodorant. I'd never heard of it until today! I definitely don't have it and other DS is somewhere in between.

KellySeveride · 24/03/2026 19:33

Two daily bras, probably another 4/5 occasional bras.

I wear them for far longer than most on here are admitting to! Sedentary job, small boobs and generally slim-I don’t sweat really. If it was a hot sweaty sticky day then I’d chuck it in the wash.

JaneBirkenstocks · 24/03/2026 19:34

Surely you don't wash jeans, trousers and jumpers after one wear?

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 24/03/2026 19:35

I only have 3 bras and wear them for a couple of days, I don’t think I’m that grubby 😬

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 24/03/2026 19:36

I own two - wear each one for between one and two weeks

Justontherightsideofnormal · 24/03/2026 19:40

Oh god I’ve always thought I am super clean but maybe I’m a minger….. I have a bra I wear all week for work….. wash at weekend.
I now wear not wired as they are easier to chuckin the wash. I go to the gym 5 days a week and wear the same sports bra for the week then wash. I wear clean pants and socks and top/leggings every day. I’m minging arnt i🥴

Bringemout · 24/03/2026 19:45

Probably about 12 proper bras and soft bras for home, change everyday, they are underwear, I once got very sick and ended up with a fungal infection under my boobs (I was sweating constantly for a few weeks) so I’m paranoid about it.

mathanxiety · 24/03/2026 19:50

Three, changed every day. I don't wear one on weekends. Weekends are laundry days

TheDogsMother · 24/03/2026 19:53

I have about 25 but I have some I wear more than others. I only wear them once before washing and though they are underwired I throw them in the washing machine.

TheAngryPuxie · 24/03/2026 20:27

JaneBirkenstocks · 23/03/2026 12:10

No, you're perfectly normal 🙂

Knickers get changed daily for obvious reasons but bras? Nah!

Me too. I change mine once a week in the wintet, maybe a bit more in the summer.

KitsyWitsy · 24/03/2026 20:36

I only have about 5 bras due to weightloss. I'll wear them a couple of days during the colder months but in summer they are changed daily.

purpleygrey · 24/03/2026 20:39

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/03/2026 10:06

There's about 50 in my drawer but only about 12 fit. Of those 12 I probably wear about 5 , but I change them daily. I always wash them by hand so they last better.

Same here. I really must clear them out!!

Overthemoun · 24/03/2026 20:47

When they smell not fresh. I don’t get sweaty boobs in the winter. Sniff test all the way.

they’re so expensive, they must wear out fast if you wash every day.

Notmymarmosets · 24/03/2026 21:00

I have four everyday bras, one sports and three fancy. Surely people are not putting on dirty bras after a shower? You get nice and clean yourself and then put on dirty underclothes? That's a no from me.

rosydreams · 24/03/2026 21:04

reminds me of hahaha, the link underneath. But yeah lets think i got a few pretty things that have not fit my boobs in years. some lovely supportive wired ones that i haven't been able to wear in years due to the fact i cant ruddy stop lactating ,it takes me a few years to stop my middle child is 6 and youngest is 14 months .So wearing something so huggy is a no go then i have my nursing bras which are stretchy crop top bras which i still wear are really comfy and no support what's so ever. Stuck with those for the moment with my boobs flapping in the breeze dam things went south and never returned .I say i have 5 of those but can usually only locate 2 so rotate every few days ,i find scented talc free body body powder helps keep them fresh =p

7 black in the winter, 7 white, beige, pink for summer.
All M&S and happily fit perfectly and only cost £18.

I have a clean one every day. I used to get three days but for about the last five uears I have had a glorious dalliance with intertrigo - red, sore, a bit eczemaish. A clean bra helps hugely, along with medicated soap and baby powder. Not huge - 36DD. If it weren't for that I'd change every 2/3 days and have fewer.

Means I can sort the laundry weekly. Some are from pre covid so fairly indestructible and M&S sells matching pants.
