How many bras do you own and how often do you change them and wash them ?

Came up in conversation with a friend who is now saying Im strange 🙄. I live in Southern Europe, in the winter I wear a bra for 1-2 days, in the summer I tend to change every day/ sometimes twice a day. I usually have 10-12 bras on rotation.
Friend says 4-5 days is fine and Im a clean freak.

I have about 10 sports bras that I wear once per exercise session. I then have about 15 underwires bras but seem to wear the same 2 on rotation, changing every 2-3 days

Honestyboxy · 24/03/2026 21:28

I have a lot of bras but can’t tolerate wires anymore so I stick to two wireless ones mostly. I wear them for several days, one if I’ve been more active than usual or it’s been warmer weather.

Surely people are not putting on dirty bras after a shower?

No. They're putting on a bra that they've worn but is still clean. Well, I am.

@Brightbluestone I'm the same as you .
I'm also wearing the wrong size but after a hugely expensive waste of time at bra fitting in John Lewis I got bras that feel like a restrictive corset I've gone back to cheap m and s in the wrong size but comfy !

Kickinthenostalgia · 24/03/2026 22:44

Every 3-4 days in the winter…. Summer is every day…

have ABOUT 8

I have 4, change every day, they are underwear.

Not the same as socks or pants though. My bras don't get sweaty or smelly at this time of year so I change mine after about 3 days. In summer it is more often.

I agree, I will wear my bra for 3 or 4 days, my knickers are changed daily.
I have about 15 bras, 10 fancy, the rest are more practical, which I wear a lot more often because they are the most comfortable.

Me too.

I too do not sweat, or get BO, or have smelly feet. It's a bit mad! I can seriously sweat like a crazy person exercising & it never smells.

Exception is clean bra for exercising.

Got two bras
When they're almost £40 a pop it's hard to justify more to be honest

But the more you have, the longer they last.

Well yes but it's the initial outlay isn't it

To be honest the most I've had at any one time anyway is 3. Again because of price

Then they get too worn to give good support so you have to replace anyway.

canisquaeso · 24/03/2026 23:01

4-5 days would absolutely not work for me, but I suppose it also depends on breast size etc

Zov · 24/03/2026 23:02

I have 6 bras. 1 beige, 2 black, 2 navy, 1 red.

I wear a bra maybe 3-4 times before washing it. In the summer I don't usually wear them one than once or twice before washing it.

I am EXACTLY the same.

So my top tip for the dry ears which seems to go with the no BO gene, is MCT coconut oil in one of the little olive oil ear spray bottle (olive oil is entriely useless for my ears). It's saved my sanity!!

I can’t believe most people change their bras every day! The only time I’ll not wear a bra again without washing it is the ones I wear to the gym. Regular days I go at least a week without washing my bra. I have about 4 I actually wear regularly. Am I gross? 🤢

I am gross with you 🤣 pretty much the same as you but gym bras are changed after every use. I shower at least once a day and my boobs aren't dirty.

RampantIvy · 25/03/2026 12:34

I think some women just get sweatier boobs than others. I don't, so it doesn't make sense for me to put a clean bra on every day.

15

Having dropped weight and gone from a 38GG to 32E, I rarely wear proper bras now. I have a handful that I do wear now and again that I keep for a couple of days before washing (not anywear near as sweaty than I used to be). However, most days I stick a sports bra on before the gym (washed everytime afterwards) I normally wear a vest top with attached bra shelves instead of proper bras.

I have an awkward bra size and I find them so uncomfy so I have three of the same in white, nude and black. I wear each for a few days then wash. When they get a bit old I replace with the same.

Same

That drop in bra size is surprising, many lose none or very little from the breasts when losing weight.

Giggorata · 25/03/2026 19:16

I've just thrown out about 50 bras, mostly underwired. Lots haven't been worn for ages. I have kept a few but mostly replaced them with jelly bras.
I would say that I now probably have about 25 bras. I change them daily, or more frequently in summer, if going out in the evening or if I got very sweaty exercising, etc. Every couple of days in winter.
I have always zipped them up in bags for washing, so they have lasted well.

They were quite perky for a while and I thought I may be lucky but the last stone I lost completely decimated my boobs. I'm over the moon with my weight loss, having sad rubbish boobs is worth my small waist and cute clothes.

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 25/03/2026 19:46

4 wired ones and 4 sports bras. I wear once and wash. Wired ones get hand washed, sports bras go in normal wash.

Really ??
That’s a lot more surprising to me .
I lost weight one time , didn’t have big boobs anyway, 32 B .
I was slim , went sickly thin & I literally had no boobs at all .
When I went back to my normal weight , thankfully went back to 32 B again .
