Yes it's a bit of a minefield with ASD kids @Tiredandwired2 . Sometimes though, mine cuts through all the nonsense and knows what's best. He's come home from his Dads this morning, had a shower and put clean PJ's on and that's it. He is relaxing. We are not leaving the house. Decision made 😂

I've got a big pan of pasta on the go. Going to chuck some organic ready made sauce on for me and some cheese and fried mushrooms for him. Done.

Doing pizza for tea I think. Not very Sunday but I don't feel like doing a big dinner. Always wears me out.

So a day of rest as much as I can for me too and that's probably a good idea. Full on week ahead.

I do hope you can avoid the kick off. Flowers

That sounds like a lovely restful day. Pizza dinner sounds great.

All fine here. He said he would prefer to go next weekend anyway. Perfect. Now sat in the garden resting and enjoying the sunshine.

@Tiredandwired2 its been a few years since I watched BGT and a live semi final but I always thought even though its live, its on a couple of seconds delay in case something went wrong or something inappropriate was said but I could be wrong. Just thought it might help your daughter and something to investigate together, might help her anxiety

Thank you. I have explained this to her but she get hung up on it. As time goes on the anxiety has widened into many seemingly unharmful things such as the Rio film the other week and the hunch back of notre dame.

She doesn't listen to me of course because I am mum but hopefully the clinical psychologist she is working with can help her with it 🤞 Thank you though

@martha79 that is a silver lining. Sorry you had to go through that and @bedfrog

My exH of 14 years decided to leave me when I was at my worst with long covid and he didn't do it nicely. It was hard and over the last 3 years I felt all the feelings but I am now actually glad it happened. No managing his moods and needs. Although not totally free because I do have to manage his toxic behaviours to our daughter and the fallout from that.

Lovely day here. Just been on a walk I haven't been able to do for 3 years. That's made my day ❤️

That’s awful @Tiredandwired2 . Sounds like you are way better off without him.

me and dd went swimming this afternoon and now resting on sofa for quite some time re- watching Dr Foster on iPlayer.

Had fist week back at work last week after 2 weeks off and survived but realised what a negative impact it has on my physical health.

martha79 · Yesterday 13:46

That's a tough level of anxiety to be dealt with @Tiredandwired2. Glad you've been able to relax today.

@TheChicSnail sorry work has been so hard on you.

@MewithME good idea about the yoga, I did a bit of stretching.

It may be chance, or I may have figured out what made me feel so awful yesterday - because I went out this morning and actually remembered to wear my sunglasses. And I was pretty much fine. Went to Asda for a Sunday paper and to B&Q for some herb plants. Then walked a bit more because I felt alright. The only thing is the prescription isn't quite current, so I can only see so far ahead of me, but maybe that's not a terrible thing either 🤣

Plants planted out and some washing on the line. I might have a nap now though.

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 16:47

@Tiredandwired2 you're welcome. It must be tough to deal with, both for her and for you

Swanhilde · Yesterday 17:51

Just got back from a wonderful weekend with DD in her uni town celebrating her 21st birthday 🥳🎂🎈🥂🍾🎁

Great fun but I know I will pay for the sugar, alcohol, walking, late night etc next week. Still, it was worth it to see her have a lovely time ❤️

Will be in bed soon I am sure - wish me luck for work tomorrow 😬

Tiredandwired2 · Yesterday 18:52

@JewelleryCat so hard. Especially after years with DS challenging behaviours. I'm a bit burnt out. Getting there slowly though.

@Swanhilde your weekend sounds lovely. Good luck for work tomorrow.

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 19:16

@Tiredandwired2 is there something you could just do for you self care wise? Nice bath, nails painted, whatever brings you peace and give you a bit of time out

I definitely need to do this more. My time seems to get swallowed by rest/recovery or essential tasks at the moment. I do try to find small pockets where I can. I just keep telling myself things won't always be this way.

martha79 · Today 09:02

Glad you had a lovely weekend @Swanhilde and I hope you don't feel too worn out today.

Hugs to you @Tiredandwired2 - it's hard to fit in the nice things when you're exhausted.

I had a lovely sleep last night - for exactly four hours. And then was awake for two, and then dozed off again... so quite tired this morning. It's a fairly quiet day at work though and I've no other plans than a little walk (ideally this morning before we're forecast rain and thunder later!). Have a good Monday all.

They say you should always put your own oxygen mask on first...very true. You must look after yourself.

@Swanhilde what a lovely weekend! Well worth being tired but hope you aren't too worn out.

@martha79 I woke up at 5am and dozed for a bit. Sat down to post on here and couldn't type coherently...sure enough the bright zigzags arrived! I don't get visual migraines often but I was probably due for one.

This afternoon I'm back to see the consultant for a cataract check up, but have no way of getting home. I'll have to brave a taxi, half blind with drops! It is a two mile walk to the bus station and once upon a time I would stroll along quite happily but there is no way I can do it these days.

JewelleryCat · Today 10:48

@TeaAndStrumpets instead of a taxi, could a friend drop you off and wait then bring you back? Might be safer than being half blind with drops!

@Tiredandwired2 I do get it, needing to do essential tasks but those can wait. If the carpets aren’t vacuumed for a few days, it doesn’t matter. You matter more than some household chores and other tasks

Sadly no one handy! DD would normally step in but it clashes with school pick up, nobody else nearby. DH has an urgent medical appointment some distance away which he can't miss, but he can drop me off first. Being a private hospital I'm confident the receptionist will call a taxi for me, so no worries!

Orangesandlemons77 · Today 12:27

Just catching up with posts. Feeling Ok here today, got a 5 on Visible today. was a 1 last Friday so hopefully some rest over the weekend has helped.

Went for a walk in the park with DH and now home. It's really lovely out. There is some building work going on here though so a bit noisy.

If you have a local college nearby it might be possible to get cheap treatments, I have done this in the past for aromatherapy massage and it was lovely. the students did a course of 6 and they ask how you are feeling and do a blend of oils based on that, so uplifting or calming etc.

The only problem was sometimes people would fall asleep and you could hear them snoring!

That's so funny, I suppose the snorers have a lovely rest though!

That score on the app is very impressive, you have obviously done the right thing by resting. This is usually when I notice all the unfinished chores and overdo it again! Hope you are more sensible than me.

TeaAndStrumpets · Today 15:21

I was early to see the consultant and out very quickly, so back home in record time for a nice cup of tea. I did compliment the taxi driver on how pristine his car is compared with ours!

Now flopped on the sofa. I also had a GP blood test this morning so that's two appointments ticked off. I hate having things hanging over me.

An old friend of DH is coming to visit him tomorrow but very tactfully staying at a hotel. I will hardly need to show my face and they will go for a pub lunch. That's the best sort of visitor!

Tiredandwired2 · Today 15:31

@TeaAndStrumpets and @JewelleryCat Absolutely true. I try and do the little things where I can audiobooks, sit in the garden, listen to my favourite comedy podcasts. Essential to keep me going.

@Orangesandlemons77 Great visible score. Shows your doing something right.

Feeling awful today. Rested lots and just accepted it's one of those days. It will pass. Slept for a bit. I think it's my diet recently. Since Easter I have been eating more rubbish so need to cut it back.

Probably also the heat and there's me dreaming about a Mediterranean get away in the future! Ahh well, can dream. Just may have to do some arm chair travelling

Dozymoo42 · Today 16:56

@Orangesandlemons77very impressed with your visible a score you really must be doing something right !

Currently resisting the urge to over do it now I feel a little more with it @TeaAndStrumpets nice to see others have the same struggle

Swanhilde · Today 17:18

Back from work and in bed with a cuppa ☕

Not feeling too bad. Legs are slow and I can feel a headache coming on so will pop some paracetamol and hope that keeps it at bay 🤞

Omelette for tea and then an early night 💤

Orangesandlemons77 · Today 17:21

Thanks for the comments about Visible. Yes it's odd as was at a 1 last week. I wondered of going to aqua aerobics had caused that.

I will keep a check this week and see what happens. I did sleep quite well last night so that might have helped things.

Hoping for a nice evening for all Flowers I'm listening to a Glastonbury compilation on Spotify, seemed fitting for the weather.

MewithME · Today 22:10

Hello all. Super full on day. I expected it but it was still a bit much. Had a mini meltdown doing dinner. I could feel my body screaming at me. At least we are both in bed early now and that is good.

I ended up with heat rash on my leg... just like my mum. So annoying. It's burning and itchy. So annoying.

@Orangesandlemons77 the daily score thing is helpful but I don't pay too much attention to a one off 1 or 5. I've gone from one to the other overnight before. I've been useless at doing the daily reading lately though. Not been doing badly on the pacing/trend line thing overall do it gives some reassurance.

Nn all. Sleep tight.
