I meant to say earlier that when I was reading about all your gardens and walks in the sunshine I suddenly thought about The Secret Garden, one of my favourite books growing up!

Must be a man thing, and a too much clutter thing! I'm sure if we went minimal it would be easier to find stuff.

This made me laugh so much. I had the same with my husband today. I moved a new deodorant up a shelf and he exclaimed "where did this deodorant come from??" - it had been on the shelf below for 2 weeks! No clutter here, we call it his "man eyes"!!!

That's so funny. DH was going to the shop this morning and volunteered to buy some sea salt because we'd run out. He assured me he'd searched the cupboard. Of course I looked and there was a full bag. Held it up, to which the reply was "but it's a different colour bag!"

We must be married to the same man 😂😂

I call it ‘boy looking’ as my DS can be similar! 😂

Definitely be a lot easier @TeaAndStrumpets if we had less stuff! I love a good declutter whereas DH likes to keep things in case they’re useful 🙄

Oh yes....particularly useful cardboard boxes! If anything mechanical breaks he saves the bits. Good bits of metal etc. A proper womble!

Edited to add, on one occasion he dismantled our dead ancient dishwasher to salvage anything useful, and was very upset to find a plastic medicine spoon jammed in the pump...too late, I'd got a new machine by then!

Flute and music theory mainly, plus other bits of woodwind and piano to a basic level. It used to be my main job for about ten years, but I now just do some alongside another job. You're never too old! I only teach adults these days - aged 20s to 70s, and ranging from beginners upwards. There is obviously more time pressure and adults can be a bit out of the habit of learning (although it doesn't sound like you are if you're doing an apprenticeship!) but I find adults often surprise themselves with what they achieve, and find it a great outlet - it's hard to think about other worries when you're concentrating on reading music and what your hands are supposed to be doing.

I had absolutely wild dreams last night - felt constant apart from when I was waking up on and off with ridiculous amounts of adrenaline going on. Silly brain!

Back to work today but it's pretty quiet.

Definitely think I will look into it in the future 😊

@MewithME well done on a successful bit of travelling - there's no place like home! You can relax now and enjoy your garden.

Lots of busy gardeners on here, it's just such a hopeful time of year.

@Orangesandlemons77 were the gallstones done quite a few years ago? Perhaps there's a new technique available so it is worth a chat with your doctor.

@martha79 sounds like the sap is rising! Glad you are feeling the benefit of the sunshine, and you can't beat washing that's been dried in the sun.

@TodayIsatrickyone you sound very efficient in your managerial role! I am also the finder of things in our house. DH is always 'losing' things if they are three inches to one side on a shelf!

@CoffeeBeansGalore a walk in the sunshine after your physio must be good therapy too!

@Dozymoo42 an apprenticeship sounds very useful!

@Swanhilde your garden always sounds lovely. This is such a nice time of year with all the spring bulbs coming up.

It’s linked to my role I’m already doing, I’m on my last module and 3 exams and a professional conversation to go then it’s done ☺️
some days I’m gung ho and very much “yes I can do this!” And some days I am questioning why I am putting myself through this??
Since December though I have moved to online learning with it to cut out the travel to Manchester and they excessive background noise in the class , not sure if it was the ME that heightened it or the fact that the class were all between 18/21 🫣
I had children very young and never got any qualifications worked my way up from working evenings in a corner shop around the kids to be being a team leader in a finance role and I decided I wanted some qualifications I think to see if I could do it. And here I am juggling revision , working and an energy zapping condition not ideal 😂 but will be worth it!

That is quite inspirational! You must be very motivated indeed to do all that alongside being ill. 💐Brilliant!

Wrong thread @Poppy61?

Blooming ridiculous busy stressy dreams again for me, and have woken up very achy. Another quiet day at work though and looking forward to a bit of warmth and sunshine.

Now I'm intrigued!

Woke early, spent an hour in bed worrying about whether I would have an allergic reaction to any of the antibiotics etc in my eye on Friday, thought bugger it and got up for a cup of tea.

It looks like a nice day out there, hope you can all enjoy the sunshine!

Swanhilde · 08/04/2026 09:13

Sun is still shining here ☀️

Have my massage this morning then a quiet afternoon, although I may do some more weeding depending on how I'm feeling. There's a patch I want to clear as I have new plants waiting to be planted 🌱

Have a peaceful day all. Glad to hear your drive home as uneventful @MewithME 💕

BerfyTigot · 08/04/2026 10:04

Beautiful weather here too. Having a quiet day today as ive been socialising for the past few days and really need some down time.

I know i don't post much, but i do like ro catch up with everyone's lives (just nosey)😆

Hope everyone has nice weather where they are ☀️

TodayIsatrickyone · 08/04/2026 10:08

Morning all, beautiful day and hope you can all enjoy it in some small way.

@Dozymoo42 Wow! Well done you. Total admiration for anyone who manages to study additional qualifications but thats quite a challenge with illness on top!

@TeaAndStrumpets Oh yes I’d forgotten about random cardboard boxes.
Though one advantage of DH’s memory problems is I can recycle them if the pile gets too big as he forgets what he’s saved 😂

@Swanhilde enjoy your massage

@martha79 sympathy to the stressful dreams. Hope your day gets better.

@BerfyTigot 👋 Enjoy your quiet day!

MewithME · 08/04/2026 10:22

Morning all. I am absolutely going to make the best of today. Going to do some laundry and read a bit in the garden.

My poor colleagues are all in a staff development day but I put the annual leave request in and it was approved so I am not going 😂

Hope loads don't bother. They were silly to schedule it today anyway. I won't be the only one on leave.

Hoping DS does some revision. He's not v good at it. He said they showed a video from a girl on tik tok at school to explain how to revise so that put him off even more 🙈

Nice to see you @BerfyTigot . Enjoy chilling 😊

I must try and get some gardeners booked in. It's been so hard to get reliable ones since my chap retired. I enjoy hearing about yours @Swanhilde .

At least nature enjoys mine as I have long grass frequently and it's a bit wild!

Ha unfortunately the size of every box is in his mental filing cabinet, no doubt using brain space which would be helpful for other things!

I have been expecting a pre op call from a nurse at the hospital. In my diary it just says "nose rings 8.30" which mystified me for a bit.

The sun is shining today ☀️but I’m stuck in working sadly.

Me and hubby are absolutely shattered our little doggo has been poorly since Sunday evening and has us up all night being sick and poorly tummy 😢 had her to vets they’ve given her anti sickness jab and special stuff to drink to replace what she is losing but of no diff tomorrow think it will be an in the bets on a drip job - they think she might have an infection in her womb but can’t operate until we get her over this bout of illness .
