Maybe someone will ask Badenoch about Timothy.

I’m at the Tory local elections launch where James Cleverly is the warm-up man. He says they will play a video of “the best of Kemi” - after which there is a long pause and the video very much fails to play. Insert your own joke here.

Amongst all the talk about the trouncing Labour will get in the locals, no-one seems to mention that he Tories are predicted to come out with even fewer seats than when they were trounced in 2022.

Badenoch will be toast if the predictions are correct.

Sadiq Khan is calling for the UK to rejoin the EU

Technically he's calling for a customs union and single market.within this Parliament.

A bit more of what he said (because I am delighted!) -

“We should, as a Labour party, fight the next general election with a clear manifesto commitment, a vote for Labour means we would rejoin the European Union. I think it’s inevitable,” he told the Italian publication La Repubblica.
Khan cited the time that had passed since the referendum and the economic instability caused by Donald Trump since Labour was elected in July 2024 as reasons why it would be desirable.
“President Trump is imposing tariffs to friend and foe, creating huge economic uncertainty that was unforeseen at the last general election,” he said.
“[And] America is involved with Israel in a war in Iran, causing huge additional economic uncertainty, affecting the price of oil, affecting the cost of living. God knows what President Trump’s exit strategy is, what the endgame is.
“So the facts have changed. The evidence has changed, which is why this parliament, we should rejoin the customs union and single market. I’m quite clear.
“On the ballot paper of the next general election is a vote for Labour, a vote to rejoin the European Union, and we should be unequivocal about the benefits of the European [Union] because we’ve now seen the alternative.”

Sadiq Khan urges Labour to campaign on rejoining EU at next election

Mayor of London says returning to EU now more desirable because of economic instability caused by Donald Trump

'domination' 'surrender' - they are very sad they didnt get to follow Trump in to war aren't they. Independence = shackled to the MAGA money train.

Hard-hitting report lays bare how NHS came close to collapse and patients were failed

The Covid inquiry’s third report covers a wide-range of issues in detail, but it has one clear conclusion – the NHS came close to collapse.

The report says it “only just coped”, as it set out how overwhelmed the healthcare system was.

It says both Covid patients and those needing care for other conditions were failed.

It also criticises the lack of protective equipment for health workers and how an under-resourced NHS entered the pandemic with not enough beds or staff.
Visiting rules were inconsistent, and it questions whether it was right women had to give birth alone and people with disabilities weren’t able to be supported by carers.

Collapse was only narrowly avoided, it says, because of the extraordinary efforts of staff.

The bit about PPE not fitting female and EM healthworkers is also very frustrating.

Meanwhile at Downing Street parties with suitcases filed with bottles of wine from the local Tesco, which is next door to Westminster tube station and opposite the Houses of Parliament.

My mum had a broken shoulder just pre covid and was sent home from rehab due to covid - 3 years later her shoulder was re x-rayed and it hadn’t set properly- the radiographer couldn’t believe there hadn’t been a follow up x-ray since the break.

I felt bad as I thought it was whinging about it sometimes- as notes on discharge said fully healed.

This is obviously minor compared to many.

I said my experience of covid on here previously so I won’t repeat - but I’m still so angry and I understand the word ‘triggered’ now - despite some other chaotic times in my life - I’m not sure why this more - maybe as it’s our government helped cause this shitshow.

Thoughts to those who will never get their previous lives back/had difficult times.

Disgraceful - hope all Welsh voters see what he thinks of them - as whether or not they’re his ‘personal views’ this shows a massive disrespect for U.K. citizens- and disdain for them - which we do already know here.

Also I think an incredible misjudgement to do these whilst a sitting MP - obviously his pocket counts more than decent behaviour or a bit of forethought - again we knew this.

We didn’t really need an inquiry to tell us that.

PickAChew · 19/03/2026 17:09

We shouldn't have needed an enquiry to tell us that but it's potentially useful to have it confirmed. Especially for the "but Starmer" types.

Remember how Farage and friends will barrack people for "Not speaking the language" of the country they are in.

Living less than an hour from the Welsh border, my lack of Welsh shames me. Especially as my French is that much better.

On a tangential note, the doorbell just went (they'll nick anything round here 😀) and it was a neighbour across the road who recently moved in wanting to give us a little Eid gift ... touched beyond words ....

Bloody Muslims. Threatening our culture by giving people gifts when it is not even Christmas.😡

That is really lovely. It is so sad to think of people like your neighbours having to hear the bile from the likes of Farage and Timothy.

https://bylinetimes.com/2026/03/19/reform-kent-council-suffers-walk-out-after-party-declares-immigration-emergency-during-meningitis-outbreak/

Opposition councillors at Reform UK’s flagship Kent County Council (KCC) staged a mass walkout on Thursday, after Nigel Farage’s party tabled a motion declaring an “illegal immigration emergency” whilst blaming migrants for the spread of “infectious diseases” — a move condemned as racist and divisive amid a deadly meningitis outbreak in the county.

Croeso

It's a lovely gesture. I've been given food when staying in Whitechapel and I always return the plate with some chocolate.

Well, that's what community is - not fucking around with flags.

Our street whatsapp has exploded with thanks - our neighbours have treated the whole street.
