A few months back according to the media it was Reform's for the taking - now it's a three-way bet between Labour, Greens and Reform

Greens were strong favourites at the bookies when I looked earlier.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 26/02/2026 15:33

Green

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 26/02/2026 15:40

I think Greens are the favourites but a lot may depend on turnout. Older people tend to vote more, so that could end up favouring Reform.

Westfacing · 26/02/2026 15:44

I am in despair with Labour!

I'll be happy with a Green win... it might give Starmer a kick up the arse

If it goes to Reform... well I don't know what I want, geez

I think Labour will win. Unfortunately. They need a good shake up.

PandoraSocks · 26/02/2026 15:51

It is too close to call, I think. The result could be really tight, as it was in Runcorn.

Six votes!

Some of it will also depend on the extent to which people vote tactically, and that's quite hard to predict.

MrThorpeHazell · 26/02/2026 20:18

Does anyone know when the result is expected? I might sit up for it.

RoutineQueen3 · 26/02/2026 20:20

Been thinking about this today! Can't wait to find out the results.

Polls close at 10m. There may be some exit polls straight away. Actual results early hours or tomorrow morning. There may be a recount or two if it’s really close.

Greedybilly · 26/02/2026 20:36

Praying it's not Reform

I’m assuming John Curtis will be on hand with an exit poll!

Not for a by-election.
Eta: result is expected around 4am.

Wolmando · 26/02/2026 21:02

Hopefully Reform or Greens

luckylavender · 26/02/2026 21:04

Hopefully not Reform. And I don’t really trust Polanski either

There is nothing hopeful about Reform.

Pricesandvices · 26/02/2026 21:12

I don't think locals count overnight do they? Or is it because it's for an MP then they will?
It just looks like it'll be close.

Wolmando · 26/02/2026 21:13

I don't really care but will laugh if Labour come third

Playingvideogames · 26/02/2026 21:13

No idea, too close to call and bets are rarely accurate these days.

I can’t think who I want to win less, Greens or Reform. Hopefully Labour will win and I don’t even like them either.

It will be interesting to see how much tactical voting there is to keep out Reform

Or the Greens. Not everyone wants anarchy with boundless immigration, heroin being sold at corner shops and trans madness everywhere

Yes they’ll count overnight. Result by dawn probably. I think it’ll be interesting to see if there’s a shy Reform effect (like the shy Tory effect).

Clubbiscuit · 26/02/2026 22:12

I used to live and work in the area. I’m guessing Green but hoping for a Labour win. Anything but Mr Eugenics.
