Of course the deeper issue here is the electoral system simply failing.
The unfortunately monikered topic of Electoral Reform is the silent dog at the moment. The principle has almost unanimous parliamentary support (Reform aren't interested, to add to the irony). Certainly over 52%.
I suspect a PR rerun of yesterday would see Reform doing even less well as people could have safely voted for other candidates safe in the knowledge they wouldn't end up perversely represented.
I think the jeopardy that has always existed in elections is now hurting the establishment more than the plebs. And that (obviously) cannot be allowed to continue.
