He was 'against the introduction of no fault divorces'.

I mean JFC. Has he ever spoken to any family lawyers? Presumably he'd like to go back to the days of having to list unreasonable behaviours or adultery. Or just no divorces at all.

making divorce more difficult doesn't mean more happy couples. it just means more conflict. The man's an idiot.

The man's an idiot.

Only if he's unaware of what he is doing.

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2026 14:32

Yes. He knows what he is doing. Handily fits nicely with the Republican outlook.

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2026 16:23

Vance and Mike Johnson have both commented negatively about no fault divorces in the past - both of them overlooking the data which shows the reduction of women's suicides and drops in domestic violence following the introduction of no fault divorces in the US.

Very amused by the online pisstakes of Kruger's comments regarding the 'unregulated sexual economy' though.

Forget Farage, the real danger is David Paulden. I cannot believe the Greens are polling to win G&D.

Mind you, at least he is supportive of PR….

"Danger" ?

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2026 16:36

We’ve discussed why Zack Polanski changed his name at 18 years old previously.

Personally I don't think acknowledging his Jewish heritage is something he should be criticised for.

Yes, to Labour.

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2026 16:52

Gasps.

Don't give up. I'm sure Reform will throw everything at getting Goodwin in.

PandoraSocks · 24/02/2026 16:57

Reform aren't going to win G&D. Even Farage knows that which is why he is waffling about Wales and not mentioning G&D.

Our Telegraph cut-and-paster will be very disappointed on Friday morning.

He will have to do it without his campaign manager who has now been suspended over racist and antisemetic tweets

It is very odd how the right/far right fixate on his name change. Especially when some of them have had several name changes themselves.🧐

That the man that suggested Andrew Tate could be a future PM. Surely not.

I mean, name changing is easy for UK nationals. So why do people have such an issue with it? It's almost as if they have nothing else.

My middle DS is going to change his name so that he has my surname (he's fostered). Other than his mum doing her nut and me feeling absurdly honoured, the world will keep turning.

Ah.

As previously stated I am not beholden to any political party.

Edited

Yes that's very clear that Matt hasn't had the support he needs. He won't win and Farage knows a loser when he sees one. Thoughts and prayers for all the other Reform MPs. Not.

Oh, don't come here with your David Paulden crap, honestly.

So disingenuous and tedious.

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2026 17:33

Yes, man uses name his family had stopped using due to antisemitism is an odd Gotcha.

I could not be less interested.

Meanwhile, Nigel Farages secret instructions from Moscow, I am most interested in.

Permit me to approach the G&D by election from
another angle.

Who do we believe will take the seat?

It will be an intersection how how the least loathed party does.

There is case to be made for changing the electoral system so that people vote for the person they least want be their MP, and the winner is the candidate with least votes.

Inclined to agree with you.

It’s looking like tactical voting to the nth degree.

A Labour hold would seem the most natural outcome but a Greens win will work for many Labour voters I imagine.

DuncinToffee · 24/02/2026 17:59

We will found out on Friday, per will of the people in Gorton and Denton.

I can give you one thing that is certain, it won't be me and no, I am not Andy Burnham

The will of the people lead to Brexit and disastrous outcomes. Just saying.
