Get well soon MR @FuzzyPuffling!

FuzzyPuffling · 14/03/2026 16:51

We're home. Could have been a lot worse!

Tiredandwired2 · 14/03/2026 19:06

@TodayIsatrickyone Yes, a bad tradesman can put you off big time.

Oh Gosh, dealing with a flood sounds stressful. Hope the cooler gets sorted. Funny you mention cookers because I just put the pizzas on trays and turned on the oven and nothing. Panicked and wanted to cry but turned it on and off and it's now working! I think it's a warning it's on its way out though.

TodayIsatrickyone · 14/03/2026 19:25

@Tiredandwired2 phew that’s a relief it worked! On the funny side I actually bought pizza bases in the online shop last week forgetting we’d no oven. We actually managed to slice them into smaller pieces and cook in the air fryer and they were okay!

martha79 · 14/03/2026 19:44

Glad Mr @FuzzyPuffling is home, hope he recovers well.

I totally agree about getting work done round the house - my landlord has offered to get various rooms painted/ decorated but there's no way I can handle the upheaval at the moment.

Was going to have a quiet day anyway but my body made sure of that with a couple of low blood pressure wobbles, so have just been in bed. The cats took turns at napping on me.

I'm glad you got your pizza @Tiredandwired2!

TeaAndStrumpets · 14/03/2026 20:36

We never use our big oven except for a roast a few times a year. We've got a mini oven which is brilliant and heats up in no time, it's all we need. DD2 has a big Rangemaster running on Calor gas but mostly uses her air fryer! It's so handy.

I don't suppose fuel prices are ever going down so people are more economy minded.

I was eyeing up the pizzas and wondering how I could get them in the air fryer. It would have taken forever so I'm glad it worked

I only have a small cheap single air fryer but find myself thinking I should get a double one. It is so handy and so fast. Things taste so much better too. My son who struggles with foods due to his sensory needs hasn't eaten potatoes in years apart from aunt Bessie's. But a few months ago I managed to get him to eat homemade air fried mini potatoes. Such an achievement!

Oops DD1 has the huge cooker, the younger one has a teeny kitchen! Very bad at editing.

I was going to say too, that I've read so many kitchen design articles recently and people are putting in loads of ovens, coffee makers, warming drawers, steam ovens. It's just crazy. When you think back a bit most people were happy with one oven that slid into a gap. Mine had a really useful eye level grill which I haven't seen for ages. So useful for warming plates!

Happy mother's day 💐 ❤️

MewithME · 15/03/2026 08:59

Morning all and Happy Mother's Day if it applies.

DS isn't home yet from his Dad's but will be in a bit. Today will be low key. He'll make me a card (he's 14 but still v sweet like that). We might watch a film later. I don't think I'm well enough to go anywhere but I don't need anything special.

I think I might be a bit stronger than yesterday. Still buzzy and twitchy but headache has gone.

Hope you all slept well and have a good day.

Happy mother's day, and lots of love to any of you who find it difficult.

I've tried to ease a bit of my work stress by breaking my own rules - I never work over the weekend but having had a few nights of stressy dreams about it and rising panic whenever I think about the week ahead, I've done a few bits this morning. Quite nice to be able to get on with stuff like presentation slides without anything else popping up/ constant Teams messages from colleagues. I feel a bit calmer that there's slightly less to squeeze into the week now.

Delivery of ready meals is due today which will make quite a difference this week.

Swanhilde · 15/03/2026 09:34

We have my parents and DS coming for lunch later, and DD will dial in. DH is cooking roast pork, which is my favourite 😋

The sun's out so I may go and drink a coffee in the garden shortly and appreciate the work we did yesterday ☀️

Have a relaxing day all 💕

FurForksSake · 15/03/2026 10:26

Morning! We went to a music festival that my older boy was in yesterday, sat for two hours and by the end I was in bits. Sadly for Anyone around me it’s really obvious as I end up rocking and contouring to try and cope. We were sat in the middle of a row and I couldn’t get up and leave. Grr.

today we are going out for dinner, we haven’t been out for dinner for a very, very long time. I’m on annual leave this week so I can recover!

today I’m on the sofa in comfy clothes and with a heat pack. Grand Prix on and relaxing while I can. Dinner is going to be at a bbq / smoke pit place so I’m hoping it will be relaxed!

Happy mother's day 💐 ❤️

❤💕 Agreed! To all the Mums and also remembering the Mums who aren't around any more. Xx

TeaAndStrumpets · 15/03/2026 11:06

@martha79 glad you are feeling organised, it always helps. The ready meals sound ideal.

@Swanhilde enjoy the sunshine!

@FurForksSake you have described my idea of hell! I am the Princess and the Pea when it comes to needing a comfy chair, and I have to wedge cushions everywhere to sit on our stupid sofa. It looks nice but.....

After my stressful week I managed to eat a bit today without my stomach going in a knot. I've calmed down about seeing the ophthalmologist too, and have decided which lenses I want.

I got some lovely flowers from DD2 and she phoned this morning. Her little girl 'bought' her a locket and helped Daddy choose a card. DD1 is arriving with her tribe later, so it will be lovely to see them all.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone, I'm finding it hard to keep up with the thread recently I'm sorry!

@FuzzyPuffling I hope your husband is okay after his procedure.

I've seen some adverts for this visible thing I must look into it, my Fitbit app does a similar thing from my watch where it determines how active I can be that day based on how much sleep I've had and my HRV and breathing rates? But I'm never sure how accurate it really is.

Saturday is my stay at home day so I've watched a documentary and done some reading, deep cleaned my bedroom as it really needed it and it's the room I spend most of my time in! Now about to hop into a bath with magnesium salts.

I hope everyone has a manageable and decent weekend.

I just use the free version of Visible, you can just get the app and do that to start with. If you wanted to try it.

Although it sounds similar what the Fitbit does.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Flowers

BerfyTigot · 15/03/2026 15:46

Happy mothers day everyone! Today I've been spoilt with breakfast in bed and flowers.

Quite a lot of pain today which is annoying as I really want to tidy up and declutter a bit.

But I have much less pain than I used to have and this just reminds me how lucky I am these days.

Yes it's good to look back and celebrate the small wins!

TodayIsatrickyone · 16/03/2026 16:08

Hey, just catching up on posts and glad to hear of some nice days for those who celebrate Mother’s Day. For those that find it hard, I hope you were kind to yourselves.

A nice Mother’s Day here, though mum came to me which helped energy wise and DH popped to his mums for an hour. A long FaceTime with DS which was lovely as he’s been super busy lately so good to catch up. DD was working but she gave me gifts and a card and we had a nice takeaway in the evening.

A bad nights sleep, perhaps due to eating sugar when I’ve been avoiding it lately so tired today. Probably did too much chatting yesterday too so sofa day today.

Hope work hasnt been too stressful for all those amazing ladies on here juggling work and chronic illness.

FurForksSake · 16/03/2026 16:59

Hello! I’m on annual leave and managed some time in the garden, so that was something ticked off my list. I’ve done some very random lopping at shrubs and I hope they’ll survive.

I want to go for a walk tomorrow (it’ll be y self I don’t have friends and anyone I could possibly spend time with is at work) but feel oddly anxious and awkward about going somewhere alone and walking and I don’t want to walk around my estate. Is that terribly sad? There are lots of places I could go and I wouldn’t look twice at someone walking alone. I need to get out a bit this week otherwise I go a bit weird and I need to build up the tolerance for work. I’m considering agreeing with myself to drive to the place where I could walk and that if I’m not feeling it I can drive home again.

Swanhilde · 16/03/2026 17:05

Home from work and in bed with a cuppa and some toast ☕

I indulged in alcohol, sugar and caffeine yesterday! DS kept me topped up with tea but used the caffeinated bags not my decaf ones 🤣 Still it was a lovely day with delicious food 😋

Leftovers for tea tonight and then an early night as my sleep was terrible - see above ...

Have a peaceful evening all 💕

Dozymoo42 · 16/03/2026 17:13

Just logged off myself @Swanhilde just lied down on bed resting after taking some painkillers will just chill here until my tea is ready ☺️
Had a busy day yesterday thinking I was invincible then hit the wall around 6-30 so planning an early night methinks - hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day who celebrate !
