Aargh!

I was intending to eat better this year, and bought the stuff to do so, but I'm struggling to actually bother.

Dinner is usually fine, but I'm struggling with breakfast and lunch.

I'm not on a diet or anything; I would just like to eat more variety as I seem to always end up having bread lately, and it gets boring. Plus I'm constantly feeling bloated and lethargic.

It's homemade sourdough, so it could be worse, but I'm also shattered all the time, and had hoped that eating more variety would help with any physical symptoms.

I thought writing it all down here might encourage me to make more effort.

If anyone else wants to join me, that would be great 😊

I didn't start well this morning, hence this thread:

So far all I've had today is a cup of tea with oat milk and 1 thin slice of sourdough bread with butter and peanut butter

Today I just had fruit juice for breakfast.

For lunch I'm having homemade chicken soup with bread.

For dinner chilli with natural yoghurt and tortillas. Probably have crisps and a chocolate bar later.

I'm totally immobile with a broken foot, having previously walked daily and run 4 times a week and have gained 3lbs as a result, so I'm trying to double down on only eating what I plan to eat and not grazing on shite!

I snacked during the night 🙄because I couldn't sleep, so today will hopefully reflect that:

Breakfast: A handful of raspberries and a skimmed latte
Lunch: Cauliflower tagine with bulgur wheat
Snack: Protein mousse (I can only eat small portions so usually supplement protein with UPFs, which I know aren't ideal)
Dinner: Lamb with garlicky asparagus and roasted carrots

Gallons of Earl Grey and some Coke Zero (yet more UPFs). Might go wild and have some water too

B- 1 crumpet with apricot jam and walnuts
S- mocha with soy milk

I’m not a fan of soup except for breakfast for some reason. Dan bueuttner who did the blue zones series on Netflix apparently eats minestrone for breakfast most days I believe! Sounds great to me!!!

frogpigdonkey · 22/04/2026 18:39

Brunch: three egg scramble with chorizo, onion and tomato and air fryer hash brown
Dinner: huge chicken salad with spinach carrot pickles croutons tomatoes feta potato cucumber

drinking gallons of ribena with fizzy water because I’m craving cold fizzy beer in the sunshine and trying to cut down!

trying to eat less UPFs and also less bread. One step at a time!
