A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ikr every time Starmer and Labour do this and blame others. Hopefully it’ll have the same effect on Starmer as it did Rayner. The arrogance is insane.

Yep, every time.
A PM blaming the security services for his own mistake is a new low though. Another nod to his character.

Well, he has plenty of practice.

The Bank of England have downgraded growth again with unemployment expected to rise for the next three years.

I like that the Lib Dems don’t want Starmer either as some think they can join up post GE but this might be a bit early. Labour MPs need to do their leadership take down.

That’s so bad. The economy indeed.

The Bank of England have downgraded growth again with unemployment expected to rise for the next three years.

Another damning indictment on government policy. With devastating real world implications - that all of them, and more than a few civil servants for that matter, remain in complete denial about.

boys3 · 05/02/2026 17:35

Whilst I’m feeling ranty did anyone have the misfortune to see Steve “elections and why they don’t matter” Reed on bbc breakfast this morning? Cringeworthy defence of Starmer. Hardly news I know but it was sinking to new levels of denial.

I didn’t see it but heard about it elsewhere. Out lovely “build baby build” housing minister who tried to get an application for the building of a block of flats in his own constituency blocked.

Sarahconnor1 · 05/02/2026 17:57

Some of the excuses Labour MPs are coming out with, just make Starmer look like a naive clown, easily persuaded by others to do things against his own judgement

He was hoodwinked by advisors
He just believed what Mandleson told the vetting

Its painful.

Awful. They haven't improved anything have they.

No doubt they'll reimagine it as a good news story because the low growth and joblessness will force a lower base rate.

Yes I heard his ‘rational choice’ defence. The Starmer / Mandelson apologists really aren’t helping.

On jobs below it’s amazing some pro Labour posters haven’t picked up why it’s so brutal for dc to get a job yet. Why are they so loyal, idk

Well they have Bailey on their side so....

Its like they think people won't notice when they lose their jobs. 🤯

Yeah I've heard some of that too.
I suppose his supporters had to choose between incompetent or complicit. They chose incompetent, although most people won't buy it. Even Starmer can use Google.

My impression of Labour MPs today is that they're all stood holding a revolver, but lack the courage to pull the trigger.
Starmer is no longer in power but we're stuck in a weird stasis. The headlines will keep coming but Starmer will stay put for now imo.

I think so, too.

You just know that there’s another banana skin imminent though - perhaps in the form of the Mandy papers, or something naughty done in the prosecution and sentencing of Lucy Connolly, perhaps….

Something like that.

Yes I think so. The by-election and May elections are up next and the constant drip from Mandelson files could do it.

Absolutely everything is making me feel a bit mad at the moment - and that's before I even look at Starmer's situation.

That is very worrying news from the bank of England. I heard about Steve Reed thing, but I'm not sure I can be bothered to look it up. I genuinely feel like they put something in the water with some of these lefties.

apparently, KB has said that the country is crying out for competence. I agree. In the middle of all of this nonsense, I still want to know what's happening with our failing infrastructure and all the baseline practical stuff. I wonder if KB would be better off saying outright that certain things have been neglected, and she's prepared to admit it and go forward sorting out those things.

Every post talking about the good things that the Labour Party have done, I either think it's not good or it's just totally irrelevant.

Isn't that emoji for blowing kisses? 😂 which is fine with me, I just didn't associate it with watching QT. 😂

once again, I find myself thinking, I'd quite like to go to the pub this evening - but I'd really need some right wingers to be there. And if I know any in that group, they're all keeping quiet - to be honest I really think there aren't any. But where are they?!
