Just that. Interested to see if anyone says what I'm thinking...

Antigua - so boring. Nice enough beach (I am a beach bum) but nothing special, no atmosphere, average food and fuck all to do.

Munich - Four million shades of grey

Agadir - dirty, dull, grimy, soulless.

Antigua boring? Oh no, no, no. It is beautiful - apart from the beaches and the beautiful sea, what about a catamaran trip to Barbuda, Shirley Heights, Nelson's Dockyard, St John's, riding on a bus with locals (amazing), the Sugar Mill (can't remember its name), Stingray Island, the whole experience! Great restaurants at Jolly Harbour too. How can that be boring?

Brighton.

Lol I meant a holiday destination. I would actually love to visit Centre Parcs but I only do holidays solo and I would look and feel very odd going to such a family orientated place alone!

I actually went to Center Parcs alone in my mid 20s (when I did slightly mad shit 😂). Took loads of books and DVDs with me and went to the spa etc! It did feel a bit weird, but I went to different CPs loads as a kid so knew what to expect!

Hervey Bay in Australia is our running joke as the most boring destination (and a particularly awful night in a youth hostel). We went there to visit Fraser Island, which was worth visiting, but the town of Hervey Bay was dire.

To support your point, I 100% know I’ve been there but cannot recall a thing about it! Even after googling it.

Brussels is not boring. Where exactly did you go in Brussels?

Pretty much everywhere. We have friends in Brussels so we have been several times. If our friends weren’t such good company, we’d never bother going again.

I mean, you don’t have to like New York, I can see why someone could find it dirty, overwhelming and expensive - but yes you have to be pretty dull to be bored there.

Agree. There's a big difference to not liking somewhere and it being boring. I didn't much like NYC or Washington DC and probably wouldn't return to either but they're certainly not boring places and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to visit.

Golololo · 25/01/2026 19:09

Sarasota in Florida. Everywhere closed by 9pm . Daytime ok though.
Coventry is absolutely bloody soulless.

Bloozie · 25/01/2026 19:10

Cape Verde.

I knew what I was booking. I knew there isn’t much to do there. I knew that it would be a lounger on a sun lounger holiday. I was really looking forward to just a pile of books and watered down all-inclusive booze. I thought I’d be like a pig in muck.

I was not. I felt trapped in the resort and there was absolutely nothing to do out of it. We stayed on Boa Vista. The sea was too rough for water sports, and the island is just so undeveloped. We were miles from anything.

It was so so boring.

Haverfordwest

The abomination of desolation. Worlds biggest Masonic Lodge - well it looked it to me lol. 57 Pentecostalist chapels. Found a decent pub / hotel mind you. Giant weeds growing on the railway platform. Needs TLC.

Went to the Docklands museum in London after someone raved about it and said my kids would love it. They didn't. It was meh.

My kids did honestly love that one. Especially the themed soft play type bit and the Anderson shelter. But there again we like the Natural History museum too…

I did refuse to go to that tank museum in Devon though. Even I have a line with museums and tanks are it.

Anywhere you get taken on a school trip especially repeatedly over many years is always a bit shit. My DC hate Bletchley park because they’ve been and done it on a few school trips. I always hated a particular working farm museum that we got dragged to from school but when I had my own small kids we went back and everyone loved it even me.

Like a PP we went to Warwick Castle when DC were too old for it expecting a proper historic castle like the Tower of London or something and got a bizarre Disneyfied experience with piped music and princess photo opportunities that they would indeed have loved aged about 4!

Gotta strike it right with the phase of life and context for some of these.

This thread is fascinating as there are so many places listed on here that I cannot fathom prior finding boring!
Rome - there is literally something ancient and beautiful around every corner, be if huge like the colluseum or a tiny piece of ancient wall on a random street. Not to mention the wonderful food
Berlin - it’s a very grey place and there’s lots of building work going on, but it felt like it was fizzing with history. East Berlin with the tower, the stazi museum etc. And such cool bars.
Valencia is gorgeous. It’s much lower key than Madrid, Barcelona etc. But it’s a fab place to wander around, beautiful buildings, amazing food. The new city of artes and sciences is a futuristic masterpiece. And I’d has a beautiful beach. And amazing food. Loved it!

Lanzarote - stunning volcanic island covered in vineyards. it’s a lovely place to explore if you hire a car and head away from the resorts.

For me, the most disappointing and boring place
I’ve visited was Canberra. The parliament building is impressive but that’s it. Unfortunately we also stayed with super boring people (friends of friends) so that compounded the absolute dullness. We’ve ticked it off the list and never need to go back.

Actually Panama City was very disappointing and full, too. The canal and locks are spectacular, but the city itself really has nothing going for it.

My son drove to Canberra from Melbourne to watch rugby and he would 100% agree with you!

kerstina · 25/01/2026 19:17

Wolverhampton , Walsall, Weston ( I love all seasides usually but not this muddy brown sea . Someone mentioned Beaumaris and Bangor but that north wales area is outstanding beautiful . I don’t get how people find places like that boring. Same with Aberystwyth you have miles of golden sand down the road in Borth and Ynyslas. Agree about national trust properties not my idea of fun.

Malta.

I also found Malta boring. Don't get the love of it.

Which one as there are two. Newport Pembrokeshire is quiet but absolutely idyllic

The one as you go over the Severn bridge

Had no idea there were 2!

Launceston. It was shut.

I was going to say Launceston. Has a horrible vibe to it.

i love visiting new places and travel - I can’t believe people have listed Berlin/Munich/Budapest! These are not boring places.

Brussels though - that is dull and universally accepted as so.

My Italian friend's children were forced to go to Pompeii for their school trips, they hated it and thought it so boring. I don't think they've been back as adults but we've been and loved it!

My uncle visited Germany a few times and always told me it wasn’t boring at all.

Despite that, he never stayed long.

Although that was in 1944 and he was at 20,000 feet.

😂😂😂

Some of these are mad

how is Valencia, Rome, Florence, Iceland and the whole of Norway boring?

same goes for the whole of cornwall

madness.

Edited

Iceland is probably boring if you have no money and stay in Reykjavik for days. If you hire a car and drive to Jokulsarlon and stop by places on the way there and back, it's amazing. Some people need constant entertainment.

Natural history museum. Cannot understand why people rave about it.

Omg that's my fav place!

The world would be boring if we were all the same, eh? 🤣
