He also claims he has never met JE. (ofcourse there are photos)

Nigel Farage tells the Reform press conference on pubs: "By the way, my name was mentioned in the files 37 times, but just to repeat, I never met Epstein and I never went to the island"

Farages immunity to being caught out in lies is as legendary as Boris Johnsons.

"There are no reporters here" - to the relative of a patient in front of a roomful of reporters.

placemats · 03/02/2026 16:19

Farage claimed on LBC July 31 2025 during an interview with Nick Ferrari that if he'd been 10 years older he would have met Epstein. (Epstein is 10 years older than Farage) Farage also said big pall Trump who is 18 years older than him 'did not go to the island'.

Pants on fire.

cardibach · 03/02/2026 16:21

There are photos of Farage with Epstein. He truly think everyone but him is thick, doesn’t he.
He used the same lie about Nathan Gill and the Russian ambassador. Caught out but wothout consequences both times.

PickAChew · 03/02/2026 16:22

Does Farage ever breathe without uttering a lie?

cardibach · 03/02/2026 16:32

Seems like not, @PickAChew

Never seems to have any consequences when it comes to Farage, not a peep about the earnings he “forget to declare” who funded his recent trip to Davos the list goes on & on yet nothing he really is coated in Teflon.

dontcallmelen · 03/02/2026 16:37

Bit surprised Mandelson gave up his seat in the lords without a fight.

That's because our media and politics are broken. By design.

Yes. Not a quitter is he?

Sophie Ridge on her first encounter with him: ignored her as she was only a rookie. "Obviously " charming??

"...Funny, well connected, gossipy, you hear a lot of people talk about him with affection in Westminster. My own stand out memory of him is a little different. The first time I met him was at my first ever Labour Party conference, I was a trainee reporter in my early twenties. In other words, I had no status or any connections really at all. And I guess the best way to put it, is that Peter Mandelson was dismissive rather than charming.

The reason I'm saying this is because I think it goes to the heart of Westminster's problem, a problem that I believe is deeply connected to the Epstein scandal (in Epstein’s world status - connections - and money - was everything.) Because people who look at Westminster - in the same way as they might look at Washington - and think, this is a closed group of elites, who all know each other, who go to the same parties, and share the same in jokes... well, to a large extent, they are right..."

The real problem is somehow we allowed becoming an elected politician to be a career. It never should have been. If you want to devote you life to helping people either join a church or enter the civil service.

Appropriate autocorrect there😂

🤣 made me giggle and I wondered at first if it was deliberate!

Another step closer to prosecution for Mandelson

A criminal investigation has been launched into allegations that Lord Peter Mandelson passed market-sensitive information to Jeffrey Epstein, the Press Association understands.

MaybeNotBob · 03/02/2026 18:58

A big problem is that most of our press are merely courtiers, there are so very few actual journalists any more.

PandoraSocks · 03/02/2026 19:01

This is a fascinating article published a few years before Epstein was first arrested and convicted. The signs are all there, everyone knew, but just skirted around it. What I can't quite get my head around is how exactly he became so insanely wealthy in the first place. It is very murky.

It is all bloody enraging. These men with their power who abuse it, whether sexually or financially or both. All whilst the rest of us struggle along trying to live a decent life. 😡

I’m not sure about that. International relations needs an expert. I do think it shouldn’t be someone’s first and/or only career though.

And that’s brilliant and as it should be. But why are we not also putting a bit of a spotlight on Farage?

I don't want the spotlight on him just yet, much better to have it in the 2years leading into the next election.

However, his supporters, much like Trumps base, don't care, according to YouGov, Reform's support is still just 25%.

But Farage isn't in Govt, Starmer is, this a scandal of his own making.

I still think this could bring down Starmer, blocked Burnham, backed Mandelson....

Sometimes i think we are back in the Tory years, its not really what i voted for.

Efacsen · 03/02/2026 19:54

New example of Mandelson passing on market sensitive information to Epstein - how much more of this sort of stuff is yet to be uncovered!

Gordon Brown's resignation

“Finally got him to go today …” an email believed to be sent by Peter Mandelson informed Epstein on Monday morning.

The apparent tip-off, revealed in the latest tranche of the Epstein files, not only gave Epstein an inside track on the UK’s political future, but also on large moves that were to ripple through global markets.''

DuncinToffee · 03/02/2026 19:57

Difference is how Labour are handling it, no MP being sent out to defend Mandelson and action is being taken.

And if Starmer is forced out, I doubt there will be any wails of 'witch hunt' from him

😮

Mandelson is going to jail, for sure.

It’s nothing like the Tory years. When he had information on Mandelson, he reacted - did you expect him to be psychic? Though I agree he’s a shifty sort and I’d have had an eye on him. I do t think he ‘backed’ him though. He employed him.
He didn’t block Burnham, the rules did - and a Burnham knew very well they would so he asked to bypass them purely to create trouble - that makes him unsuitable to be PM (or even an MP) in my eyes. Not even sure about mayor.

FT are reporting

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor discussed ways round restrictions on his making investments while an official UK trade representative and shared official documents from the role with Jeffrey Epstein, files released by the US Department of Justice show

The two-child limit has moved a step closer to being scrapped after legislation cleared the first stage in Parliament.

MPs voted 458 to 104, majority 354,to scrap the policy, ensuring the Universal Credit (Removal of Two Child Limit) Bill passed at second reading.

How about the biggest and grimmest question of all: what it means for women and girls to be able to clearly see that we live in a world where so many of the richest and most powerful men alive are just not bothered enough by their exploitation. Or worse.
