Tomato soup and a bagel enough for lunch?

My DP and I had a bagel with jam for breakfast around 8:30, then a bagel with cream of tomato soup (out of a tin) for lunch. I just said I'm feeling peckish but he's saying I shouldn't given we had lunch.

I don't think that a bagel and some soup is enough to see you through to dinner (around 7:00pm) unless you've also had a big breakfast.

What would you say?

I am aware that yesterday's choice of breakfast and lunch weren't healthy - I understand the food groups and what a healthy diet looks like. But I was in a hurry and didn't have much in (we both WFH) so that's what I chose to have.

It was one tin and one bagel each for lunch, by the way.

So my question was not about my choice of food and whether it was healthy or not - it was purely asked to see if others would also have been peckish after the amount (and type) of food I had had.

I am honestly surprised that around half of the people here think it's enough food until dinner, but then that's exactly what I wanted to find out :-)

But surely its irrelevant if others are full up or not. My parents eat very little, so they wouldnt be hungry on that, they get very bloated on bread. My OH is the same on bread, he tends to eat half a bagel at a time

But others are different, if you're hungry, you're hungry.

No protein and tinned soup isn't very filling. Even if I have a full tin I'm hungry after a couple of hours. But sometimes you actually need a drink. But your brain tricks you so you think you're hungry. I always have a drink of water if I'm hungry before something to eat.

That is horrible. You must have been starving.

I used to get really low blood sugar, so bad I’d be sweating and shaking, feel faint and sick.
Set me up for a lifetime of misery.
