Math, you are correct. That little Honda does deserve a medal. It just isn't designed to handle 14 inches of snow. You also have to push it through the snow, which isn't a problem with just a few inches, but gets very tiring if you have more snow than that. DH is in good shape, but he's in his late 60's, so he needs something that does more of the work for him. He rang the Honda dealer, and they expect to receive the new one we ordered on Monday, so we'll probably get it on Tuesday or Wednesday.
I was supposed to get three dental implants put in yesterday, but they notified me on Thursday that the boiler in their building was broken, and they had no heat or hot water and had to close the office. They expect to be back in the office next Tuesday, but the soonest they can get me in is February 18th, which is not ideal. They took the impressions in mid-December, so it's turned into a two-month wait.
We were out yesterday for me to have an eye exam. Over the last weekend, I developed some floaters in my left eye, so I booked an appointment with an optometrist at the medical practice I use. He gave me an exam and thought he found a small hole in my retina, which can be quite serious. He insisted that I see a retinal specialist the same day, so we went to a different office, and they fit me in with a half-hour wait. He also gave me an exam, and told me that there was no hole in my retina. I had a very common condition called posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), which is not very concerning, but will cause the floaters.
After all I've been through with my heart surgery, the optometrist had me concerned that I might be losing sight in my left eye. Thank god it was a false alarm. I have a follow-up appointment with the retinal specialist in a month.
This picture is one of our local reservoirs. We drove past it yesterday. I've never seen it with so much snow. It was -17 C when I got up this morning.
