Happy Mother's Day to all of the UK mums!
Penguins, sorry you are still suffering from Covid. It sounds like you are near the end of the infection. It doesn't sound like the Paxlovid did you much good. Great news about the refunds.
Math, the same storm is now here as torrential rain, which will go on all day.
Ella, the bouncy castle was a brilliant idea. How often have you had to go into the shelter?
DD and SiL are in Georgia this week, house hunting. The army is going to transfer him to a base near Atlanta when he finishes his master's degree this spring. It's so exciting that she's getting on the property ladder at age 24.
There's a pedestrian walkway over the Hudson River north of us. It's almost two miles long, the longest in the world, reportedly. It was a railroad bridge built in 1889, converted to a walkway in 2019. It's now a NY State Park and is managed by a non-profit organization that maintains it and hosts events there. My parents were very fond of it and often walked over it. Here's their website:

To raise money, the non-profit allows you to place a bronze memorial plaque on the bridge, and my brother and I decided to get one for my parents. It was recently installed, and we went to see it on Saturday. The head of the non-profit met us there to show us where it was. The views were spectacular. The only problem was the weather - it was about 3 C with 50 mph wind gusts. So we put on our winter clothes and walked out to see it. Then we went to a lovely restaurant nearby on the river for lunch, so it was a nice day out. DS was with us.
The bridge to the south is the Mid-Hudson Bridge, which has a smaller sidewalk (pavement?) for pedestrians. Trains have to cross the river further north.
