I don't really have a recipe, its a bit free form, but...
Fuzzy's Curry Special
Fry up an onion and garlic
Add a good handful of cauliflower florets (and mushrooms too, if you like)
Chuck in a cooked chopped chicken breast (or the remains of yesterday's roast).

Add some chicken stock and double cream.
Add two good spoons of ground almonds.

Curry it up..
I use mind curry powder, ground ginger and paprika...you do you!

It improves if you make it in the morning ( when I have more energy) and let it mature til teatime.

Serve with brown rice (for healthy, feelgood vibes)

Aww thanks sounds good apart from I'm allergic to almonds and don't eat meat ๐Ÿคฃ

What a pain I am! I do love a good home made curry. I am going to think about almond alternatives!

Home from work and in bed with pecan and cranberry sourdough slices and a cuppa โ˜•

Good to hear from you @MewithME โค๏ธ

I am knackered and my legs are sore, ear is still blocked but the headache has not returned so I'll take that as a win ๐Ÿ‘

Haddock fishcakes for tea, cooked by DH, and then an early night,๐Ÿ˜ด

Had to lie down for an hour this lunchtime as I'd been rushing around looking after my dad and then tidying up for his cleaners.

I think it was @Orangesandlemons77 who said that they'd learnt on an ME/CFS course that lying down lowers cortisol, so I no longer feel guilty for daytime naps ๐Ÿ˜„

Sausage and mash for us tonight!

I have made it with Quorn and with extra cauliflower. Both of which work. Can't help with the almonds!

I have glaucoma....Is this an illness?

Hedjwitch · 03/02/2026 18:30

Attended a business meeting and stayed awake. Crashed out for an hour afterwards. Woke up in pain. Need something to eat.

Do you like tikka massala? I've got a recipe that doesn't involve almonds and I was a veggie for years and still prefer it so usually chuck in chickpeas, cauliflower or quorn.

MewithME · 03/02/2026 22:27

Not sure about Tikka Masala. It's a chicken dish and I don't usually do meat substitutes or at least I don't like Quorn in curry. But I like most mild to medium ones. The korma sounded nice because I've not had one in years but then I'm confused because I used to have them but I know I'm allergic to almonds so maybe it got worse.... I have had the nut allergy since I was born though.

Thanks for the thought though....mmmm gonna make curry at weekend and fill freezer a bit (if I have the energy).

I'm going to make Homity pie today. ( Hairy Bikers recipe)
Free of meat and nuts, but lots of dairy!

I actually don't like cooking, but I do like eating.

Realisation14 · 04/02/2026 08:13

Morning all, really rough night here again. I have the dentist this morning and my anxiety is through the roof and my IBS is playing up. Think today might be an "emergency diazepam stash day". I also have to go to the chemist and Asda.

FurForksSake · 04/02/2026 09:13

@Realisation14 sorry to hear itโ€™s more difficult than usual. Thank goodness for stashes!

got the kids off to school safely, waiting for my bupa gp appointment. Must tidy my bedroom and the kitchen, cleaner tomorrow. Havenโ€™t left the house since Sunday. The weather is not making me want to go anywhere!

FurForksSake · 04/02/2026 09:41

Bupa doctor appointment done. Heโ€™s putting in for a pre authorisation for me to see a gynaecologist within two weeks. He was shocked my gp hasnโ€™t seen me after the polyp and with the other symptoms.

TodayIsatrickyone · 04/02/2026 11:03

Morning
Sorry its a rough one @Realisation14 and @FurForksSake glad the Bupa dr is getting things moving at least but frustrating for you re the GP. Everything can feel such a battle at times.

Quiet day here (as per usual.) Though all the talk of curryโ€™s has made me feel like making one so may do that in stages as DH will do the chopping. Teen DD a very fussy eater ( as in lots of things she doesnโ€™t like and doesnโ€™t eat meat) but we found a Jamie Oliver recipe for a chickpea and sweet potato curry both of which she will eat so may try that if energy permits. Plus Jamieโ€™s recipes usually turn out okay and Iโ€™m not the best cook but like you @FuzzyPuffling I like eating! That comment made me smile ๐Ÿ˜Š

Good news is no rain today ( finally!) and I can see sun so going to have a mooch in the garden with dippy dog and see what bulbs are coming through.

Home everyone has a manageable day.

TeaAndStrumpets · 04/02/2026 12:55

I've been to the osteopath to have my hip and neck loosened, feeling worn out now and just want to lie down. It's such an effort to get ready and out of the house and chat to the receptionist then osteopath...I have done too much chatting this week!

FuzzyPuffling · 04/02/2026 12:57

I've had a short walk this morning and glad I took advantage of the sunshine as it's clouded over now.
I've seen some early camellias out and it's very cheering.

Orangesandlemons77 · 04/02/2026 13:43

It's sunny here too but have not braved a walk yet! Have a prescription to collect so might get out later. Hoping for a good day for all Daffodil(daffodil due to the Spring!)

TodayIsatrickyone · 04/02/2026 14:06

Managed a short walk with DH & dippy dog. More of a splash about really as lot of surface water around still on the field after last weeks floods. But it was lovely to manage it in the sunshine.
Had a call from my mum whose car key wasnโ€™t working so DH bless him went straight over to try and help. It wasnโ€™t as simple as he thought and he needed to pick up DD so will need to go back and try and sort it. Iโ€™m on sofa with a worn out dog snoozing on me!
