It's sunny here too but have not braved a walk yet! Have a prescription to collect so might get out later. Hoping for a good day for all Daffodil(daffodil due to the Spring!)

You are very good with your emojis, I can never work out which is which, especially the little face ones! Oh I do hope it's a sign of Spring! It's a much more optimistic time of year.

Bluebellsandwishingwells · 04/02/2026 16:24

Have spent the last two lunchtimes catching up here! Glad that everyone seems to have got through the floods okay. Itโ€™s been crazy weather. Flooding up here too but not near my house, everything is just ongoingly cold and soggy. Belated ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ‚ for Fuzzyโ€™s birthday. I liked the cauliflower recipe too but also not allowed almonds because of my propensity for kidney stones. They are just as painful as people say. Maybe worse ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
Im that strange contrary character who loves a cold grey day ๐Ÿ˜„ Cold and sun is better but I do love the whole freezy tucked up thing, grey or not. I think itโ€™s my Swedish ancestry.
Not been too bad. Somehow kept up with my exercise and just hit page 200 of the novel, am celebrating with a slice of apple cake and some hibiscus tea ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a cozy evening all ๐Ÿ’•

It just kind of occurred to me as I opened MN and saw your post in my list... Been in to the office today and chaired a meeting which was long but with nice people at least. WFH for rest of the week.

Phew ๐Ÿ˜

Going to eat now and catch up with th rest of everyone's news in a bit

@Bluebellsandwishingwells kidney stones hurt. When my GP asked me to rate the pain I told her I'd happily give birth to another 10lb baby and tear again.... Yeh she prescribed some good painkillers haha....

Bluebellsandwishingwells · 04/02/2026 20:09

@Oioiqueen Yes, they are stonking!๐Ÿ˜ฃAm now very careful with my oxalate consumption, no spinach, no beetroot, no buckwheat, no celery, certainly no rhubarb! I have had three and only morphine lifted the agony! Three kidney stones, not three babies ๐Ÿคฃ

Oioiqueen · 04/02/2026 20:45

@Bluebellsandwishingwells tell me about it. I'm generally one that just pops a couple of paracetamol and gets on with it. I think I have a high threshold for pain anyway. However I crawled up the stairs and called 111 because I couldn't pee despite drinking several pints of water. One of my kids panicked thinking I was dying and ran out to my husband who was working in the garden. I was referred to OOH at the hospital who said I'd pulled a back muscle and intense pain can stop you from needing a wee. When I was still in pain a couple of days later I saw my GP who took one look at me and asked how my labour's were. I was like erm I'm not giving birth here love. When I said one was an emergency without pain relief she said she knew it was kidney stones because of my clenched hand when I walked in. I had no outer signs of pain apparently but she had seen grown men rolling on the floor with it. Anyway the relief when I passed the grit was like euphoria. I now make sure I drink enough, I have to nowadays anyway as I'm on anti nausea meds with chemo and if you don't drink enough the laxatives don't work.

Orangesandlemons77 · 04/02/2026 21:50

Just been reading online there is a shortage of co-codomol Feb to June...just had a repeat done for this, will have to see if it is there tomorrow! Have a feeling they want us off this anyway, will have to see what happens.

Oh dear, that sounds awful! How much is too much buckwheat? I have a small buckwheat pancake every day, but not rhubarb or beetroot.

FuzzyPuffling · 05/02/2026 07:54

I knew beetroot was bad.
Nothing that stains to that extent can be good for you.

VikingNorthUtsire · 05/02/2026 09:40

Oh gosh, the kidney stones sound awful. Note to self to drink more!

Yesterday I was working but got out for a little walk around a field near the back of our house. The sun was out and it was lovely, I could imagine spring.

My referral to the CF clinic has been accepted. The email I had from them said that they are very busy so to expect a wait for my first appointment - I wonder how long it will be. I don;t actually have a CF diagnosis so it will be interesting to hear what they say.

Hope everyone has a good day ๐ŸŒป

FurForksSake · 05/02/2026 09:49

Morning! Kidney stones sound awful, my mum now suffers terribly with her kidneys.

I had a shower as I was supposed to have hydro and now I donโ€™t! But Iโ€™m clean and fresh.

im going to go to Aldi and do half my shopping. Iโ€™m wearing jeans which are my outside legs. I wish I was wearing leggings. Jeans are vinted and annoyingly a bit big, but Iโ€™ll see if I can find a belt. They are bershka barrel leg and a lovely shape.

Swanhilde · 05/02/2026 09:51

Morning all! Woken by a cortisol surge at 3.46am and never really got back to sleep properly. Feel surprisingly energetic though so I must be careful ๐Ÿค”

Been doing some prep for ceramics this afternoon. Think I'll dodge the rain and go and pick some pansies and primroses from the garden to try some monoprinting techniques too ๐ŸŒผ

Putting the kettle on now if anyone wants a brew? โ˜•

FurForksSake · 05/02/2026 09:57

@Swanhilde can we see some pictures of your makes please? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Thanks @Swanhilde a cup of peppermint tea would be lovely!

I slept like the dead last night after seeing the osteopath, everything is so tight. I think the stress is making me resemble a coiled spring!

Stupidly spent hours reading about all the latest government cock ups, sadly not surprising but still infuriating. Some years ago I had to come off twitter (as it was) because DD2 was upset by my comments about Keir Starmer. Nothing bad, just constructive criticism! Not worth the upset though.

Of course @FurForksSake โค๏ธ

The vase has a bit of a story - bisque fired in 2007 and glazed 2026! It's been patiently sitting on my shelf in the meantime waiting for my children to grow up ๐Ÿคฃ And the brown/blue bowl is one of my favourite pieces ๐ŸคŽ

I'll take some work in progress pics later and share them ๐Ÿ˜Š

FurForksSake · 05/02/2026 10:32

I love them both! The bowl is such a gorgeous colour. Oooh I canโ€™t wait for my little studio space to be ready for me to use.

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/02/2026 10:35

@Swanhilde that's very welcome, thank you!

You are very talented, I love those pieces!

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/02/2026 10:41

@FurForksSake it must be so painstaking to produce painted things. I have a few vases by Charlotte Rhead and Frederick Rhead and it's the hand painted aspect which is so appealing.

Swanhilde · 05/02/2026 10:50

Thank you both ๐Ÿ˜Š

I've been trying some hand painting recently @TeaAndStrumpets and I'm not very good at it ๐Ÿคฃ My hands are ridiculously shaky!

So excited for you @FurForksSake (and very jealous) ๐Ÿ˜

VikingNorthUtsire · 05/02/2026 10:52

Those are lovely @Swanhilde

I haven't really managed to get up yet (I have been down to eat breakfast and make a cup of tea but now back in bed). My legs and hands seem to be trembly. Not something i've had before.

Does anyone else get this? (I know we all have different conditions). I can rest today but have to be out tonight for a work thing then in the office all day tomorrow.

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/02/2026 10:58

@VikingNorthUtsire that sounds unsettling. I don't tremble but when I am really exhausted I get massive twitches. Like when you're just dropping off to sleep.

Swanhilde · 05/02/2026 11:36

I shake @VikingNorthUtsire and my legs vibrate, it's a sure sign I've overdone it and my nervous system is on the wonk ๐Ÿ˜œ

Not as bad as when my thyroid was horribly overactive though, and I thought I had Parkinson's. But, like most symptoms, I've gotten used to it. Feeling v buzzy atm as I've been wrapping DH's birthday presents. Time for a rest I think ...

Oioiqueen · 05/02/2026 12:40

Hi all. After the first bit of sunshine yesterday in weeks we are back to gloomy rain today huff.... Picked up my wig this morning, it will take a bit of getting used to but for the occasional times when I go out somewhere that isn't the school run I'll feel more like my old self rather than the person with cancer. Now thinking about what I'll do this afternoon before the school run, I'm debating doing some baking. We still have tons of pumpkin in the freezer so might make muffins as the kids enjoy them as a snack.

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/02/2026 13:10

Not much going on here. Had to get DS up for school at 6.45 as DH had to leave early fro work, then went back to bed and woke up with the Ocado delivery at around 10.30. Still seem to be struggling with mornings, I really can't function, even after going to bed not too late

Anyway it is the CFS clinic friends and family zoom session this evening but Dh won't be here (work) so that is a bit annoying.

I'm wondering about whether to ask the DS's (20 and 17) to join, but unsure. What would others do? I mean they could be more helpful around the house, but unsure about sort of burdening them with my medical stuff.

They have their own stuff going on, studies work etc and around the same age I got a bit burdened with my mum's health stuff I remember. Maybe I will just leave it.

Another thing I have going on is the same GP who referred me for the ME diagnosis thinks it is 'probably I might have autism, apparently some of it overlaps with ME / CFS.

So they re talking about referring me to this Psychiatry UK service online. Asking of that is OK. I have said yes and done a questionnaire but now questioning if this is the right thing or not.

Oh I don't know. I have not told DH as he is old fashioned and sceptical.

Hope everyone has a good day Flowers
