Well I do wonder if itโ€™s mcas. I regularly get sudden onset runny noses if exposed to different things like being out for dinner. Iโ€™ve taken some antihistamines, washed my hands in something safe and covered my face in aproderm. Itโ€™s so sore!

FurForksSake · 25/01/2026 21:34

Antihistamines have helped, so thatโ€™s good. Skin is still sore but I no longer want to rip it off.

MewithME · 25/01/2026 22:08

Oh that's good. Hope you can sleep and figure out what set it off.

@BodysBroken what a day! It's incredible that you are so active already after your fracture. Nice to be woken with a cooked breakfast, I imagine you'd worked up an appetite by then!
My cousin emailed me a while ago recommending The Choral, good choice by the sound of it.

Oh it was so tasty and completely unexpected. He'd got in wet and cold from standing at the side of the football pitch and needed something warm and substantial.

The film was excellent!

Good morning everyone, just trying to catch up on the weekend chat! @FuzzyPuffling happy belated birthday for yesterday, sorry I missed it!
@JewelleryCat welcome to the gang!

I must say I've had a really nice restful weekend, I've got a bloody toothache that I need to sort but paracetamol kept it at bay over the weekend, other than that, I have been mostly symptom free over the weekend and I stayed home and enjoyed every bit of it, nice long bath, lots of reading (reading a book called educated by Tara Westover which is absolutely fantastic!), playing with my son, some light housework.

Today is back to busy, I have a telephone consultation with my dietician at 10am, I need to ring the dentist re my toothache, have to go to the shop for butter, and do my son's school work with him (he is flexi schooled). Plus book a collection with the city council of a mattress we're getting rid of.

I hope today is not a bad Monday for you all x

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/01/2026 08:35

Morning all!

Another good sleep, palpitations on waking but dying down now. Will try for a calm day.

Sounds good apart from the toothache @Realisation14 hope you get sorted. Is flexi schooling the same as home schooling? Pardon my ignorance! My autistic grandson has tutors at home because he is so anxious about school. They have been wonderful and gently coaxed him back into learning. At the moment he is revising for gcses and will take them at home with an invigilator.

FurForksSake · 26/01/2026 08:36

Morning! I am up and showered. Iโ€™ve got to go for my asthma check at 9.45, I donโ€™t struggle much with it but have to get them to leave me alone. Iโ€™m super paranoid Iโ€™m going to forget it.

Mornings feel so hard getting two kids up and to school even though they are mostly independent. Not sure how Iโ€™ll then be able to go to work after!

JewelleryCat · 26/01/2026 08:45

Thank you for the welcome @Realisation14

I think Iโ€™m having a lazy start to Monday, Iโ€™m under my heated blanket and canโ€™t be bothered to move to start my day until the timer switches itself off

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/01/2026 09:01

@FurForksSake I only go for GP check ups to keep them off my back! I do have a phobia about doctors but the nurses are usually OK

FuzzyPuffling · 26/01/2026 09:19

Hello all,
I'm going into town for coffee with a friend this morning, while DH waits in for a delivery of two dresses, which i hope will be good to wear for DD's low-key wedding soon.

I've got a rechargeable hotwater bottle, best thing ever! When my IBS is bad it's the only thing that helps.

Ooh exciting, hope you love one of them!

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/01/2026 09:27

Our broadband and phone were down for about 3 weeks over Christmas, but back on 9th of January. TODAY we have received an apologetic email from EE saying how sorry they are that we are still disconnected, and assuring us we will be getting compensation. Erm...????

JewelleryCat · 26/01/2026 09:44

@TeaAndStrumpets there seems to be miscommunication there from EE. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™d notice if you were still disconnected, especially since itโ€™s nearly the end of January. Where has the time gone?

Oh I love my heated blanket, best thing ever for me. Itโ€™s heavy as well so a lovely weight to just drift off to sleep. Iโ€™m using it all the time at the moment

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/01/2026 09:51

@JewelleryCat time will tell!

There are still a lot of repair men and vans up and down our road, so it seems to be an ongoing situation. They replaced our nearest telegraph pole but there was another one driven into which is tilted over slightly. Maybe the whole job just isn't signed off yet.

FurForksSake · 26/01/2026 10:06

damn it! It was a telephone appointment. I turned up in person and they treated me like an idiot. Text message confirmation clearly said at surgery. I even showed it to them. And then they called 15 minutes late and my phone filtered the call. Immediately turned all filtering off and marked as known. Text from gp saying theyโ€™ll try me again. They havenโ€™t. Heart rate is now through the roof. I want to cry. Is that pathetic? I got ready and used loads of energy and drove to the surgery and walked across the carpark for nothing and now I missed their call.

FurForksSake · 26/01/2026 10:29

Eventual call back, inhaler change. Nice enough person.

JewelleryCat · 26/01/2026 10:36

They should be better with their communication @FurForksSake

If itโ€™s telephone then say itโ€™s telephone instead of saying itโ€™s at the surgery. Crying is not pathetic at all, if you need to cry then cry. At least you eventually got a nice person

I have asthma but luckily itโ€™s well controlled and I just use my preventer. Canโ€™t remember the last time I even used my reliever touch wood

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/01/2026 11:11

Really feel for you @FurForksSake that sounds pretty disorganised. You can relax now!

FurForksSake · 26/01/2026 12:45

Argh. Neighbours have someone cleaning their drive and itโ€™s flooding our garage! Went out to ask them to stop and they were so rude. Told me I was a bad person?! Called husband in tears and heโ€™s calling the neighbour. I canโ€™t believe the rudeness.

That is shocking! Tell the neighbour he is liable for any damage and drying out needed.

BerfyTigot · 26/01/2026 14:02

Sounds like you've had a tough morning @FurForksSake, hope things improve this afternoon.

I've been at the hospital this morning for physio. Was there nearly 2 hours! It's a 45 min drive so have been out all morning.

And now on sofa before a dentist appointment at 3.30pm. Then DS and his gf coming for tea but I have cheated and bought ready meals.

DS out with dog now which is so helpful.

Hoping for a quieter day tomorrow ๐Ÿ™

Wow that never happens! You'll have to buy according to the season, or flip a coin.

MewithME · 26/01/2026 16:03
