Yep, that's perfect @MewithME ๐Ÿคฃโค๏ธ

JewelleryCat · 25/01/2026 11:56

That is funny @MewithME

Just rest for now @Swanhilde and see how you feel a bit later. Even if you can just do one thing, thatโ€™s still a bit of progress but itโ€™s also Sunday and the weather is miserable. A good day to stay in bed

MewithME · 25/01/2026 12:03

So far today, the shopping has been delivered. I've got another wash on and a load out the dryer. Some sausages defrosting for Ds for tea.

I'm now having a rest back in bed. Shame because the sun is out off and on so it's not a bad day but I really need to rest before work tomorrow..DS is in his PJs and happy to stay that way. No disasters today so far .. touch wood!

I will have to do the obligatory call to my mum later. I feel bad saying it like it's a chore but she exhausts me. I love her to bits but she speaks non stop and flits around so her conversation is hard to follow. It's an MEcfs nightmare for brain fog and cognitive exhaustion ๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿคญ

Ambition for this afternoon is to get the Xmas decorations back in the attic! (It may not happen)

Love that @MewithME it is very true. DH told me off for handwashing a jumper this morning. He says me thinking I'm fine today is not reliable! So I've stopped.

Will have to risk the washing machine for rinsing and spinning. It is such a lovely cuddly jumper, pale pink cashmere. I hope it doesn't shrink any more. When I bought it cheap on ebay it was about 4 sizes too big for me (did I say cheap?) It has been washed a few times and has gone smaller but denser - not quite felted. But so soft. I love it when I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps. Soft comfy clothes are important to me.

Stressybetty · 25/01/2026 12:41

Happy birthday @FuzzyPuffling!
Both me and DH have headaches and snuffly. Feeling calmer after restarting the HRT.
Yesterday managed to pack the puppy stuff away in labelled crates and cleaned the sink area in the utility room. Put the washing away and changed our bed.
DH tidied a bit of the garden and cleaned out the dog beds.
Have fed dogs and back in bed with tea and a belgian bun.
I'd like to carry on tidying and cleaning the utility and hall today, see how much I get done.
Need to sort kitchen first from last night homemade pizza.
Love to all xx

Swanhilde · 25/01/2026 12:48

So I've done an online Sainsbury's shop to be delivered next week from bed ๐Ÿ‘

Think I'm going to make a cuppa now, sit in my kitchen chair and do the RSPB bird count in the warm inside. May need to refill the feeders first though ...

Swanhilde · 25/01/2026 14:19

... two hardy great tits and a robin! ๐Ÿคฃ

Still I've topped up the feeders and spent a few minutes outside, so that's my good deed for today.

Here are some snowdrips* and my hellebore ๐Ÿ’•

*DD called them snowdrips when she was little so that's what we call them now

Iโ€™ve tried a couple of times this weekend to do the bird watch. Yesterday the weather was foul so I only got 2 magpies so gave up. Today I didnโ€™t manage the full hour either as had to pop out to MILs briefly but I did see a Robin on the fat balls followed by some blue tits and a pigeon that was strutting around the lawn with 2 magpies popping in and out. Quite a few flew by but that doesnโ€™t count. I know with the Merlin app I usually hear quite a variety but they werenโ€™t around this weekend which is a shame.

Lovely snowdrips @Swanhilde๐Ÿ˜Š Just been in my MILs garden with the dog and she has snowdrops, crocus and some early daffs coming up already! Lovely to see!
Now resting in bed with the dog and DH is prepping a roast.

FurForksSake · 25/01/2026 15:58

Happy birthday @FuzzyPuffling I hope you party like itโ€™s your 70th.

I had a little walk up the allotment to survey the mud. It is muddy.

DH is sawing wood in the garage.

Slow roast pork for dinner.

Asthma review tomorrow. How fun!

Sounds like a better day than yesterday for you and DS so thatโ€™s a win!
Oh gosh I hear you on the obligatory phone call, my mum is very similar and I have to pick a day Iโ€™m able to chat as I know its never a short call. As sheโ€™s getting older, the conversations are getting even more long winded and hard to follow as she goes off at tangents every few minutes bless her. It really is quite exhausting but I then feel guilty if I donโ€™t call her.

Happy birthday at @FuzzyPuffling

Today is our last Sunday free until after half term so we took the kids out for the day. Last time we did was pre chemo, I was in pain and suffering a bit. Today I marched up them hills and walked loads. Felt really positive today and enjoyed making memories.

BodysBroken · 25/01/2026 16:30

I dropped my DD(10) at the stables this morning, she often helps out over the weekend. I fell asleep on the bus home and missed my stop. I panicked and got off at the next stop which meant walking back along a dual carriageway and through a flooded subway to get a bus back home - in hindsight I should have stayed on until the bus turned onto a normal road and I could've just crossed the road to the opposite bus stop.

I'm only just starting to venture out after fracturing my neck 2 weeks ago and I've got an uptick in other pain including my hip and shins so that unexpected trek did me in. I got home and slept for an hour. But I was woken by DH cooking a massive full English!

A friend has hired out a cinema this afternoon for a private screening of The Choral. It's a Christmas treat for her friends and family in lieu of sending cards. She is laying on drinks and nibbles beforehand. I'm taking DD and really looking forward to it, should be a gorgeous, relaxed afternoon and just what I need right now.

In the meantime DH took DS (12) to play football this morning (they won), they've picked up a new bike for DD from eBay, and now DH is getting ahead on some work as next week is going to be really messy (I've got 5 medical appts) whilst DS does his homework.

How wonderful! So glad you avoided the sniffles, sounds like a lovely healthy day!

TeaAndStrumpets · 25/01/2026 17:06

@BodysBroken what a day! It's incredible that you are so active already after your fracture. Nice to be woken with a cooked breakfast, I imagine you'd worked up an appetite by then!
My cousin emailed me a while ago recommending The Choral, good choice by the sound of it.

TeaAndStrumpets · 25/01/2026 17:15

Food is an hour late due to DH yapping on the phone half the afternoon. They call women chatterboxes but in my experience they have nothing on men talking about their hobbies.

I got my lovely jumper rinsed and spun in the machine, sadly it's still got a tea stain on the front. I tell myself it would be fine under a gilet, in winter....this attitude is why I have too many clothes! I must stop hanging onto things.

MewithME · 25/01/2026 17:20

@BodysBroken the cinema sounds amazing. What a lovely thing ๐Ÿ˜Š The bus journey sounded stressful though! I remember my exh falling asleep on the tube when he was hungover multiple times and he just kept going up and down the line ๐Ÿคฃ

@TeaAndStrumpets I have dresses that are twenty years old and I can't fit into. I need to admit it to myself that they need to go to charity shop!

It was great. Feeling wiped now, forget sometimes that I do need to be careful with not overdoing it. We missed most of the rain and looks like it was awful here at home a mere half an hour drive from where we were.

Funnily enough I haven't heard DH snuffling today. No idea what that was all about.

VikingNorthUtsire · 25/01/2026 18:38

Happy birthday @FuzzyPuffling ! And welcome to @JewelleryCat

It's been wet and dark here but I was desperate to get out. Instructed DH that we were going to pick up fancy coffees and find somewhere to sit and drink them. Which we did, down by the river which has flooded spectacularly and covered several fields ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Misjudged the walk and had to be abandoned halfway back, sitting on a wet tree stump while DH got the car. I do think it did me the wood of good to get out though.

JewelleryCat · 25/01/2026 18:56

Thank you @VikingNorthUtsire for the welcome

Everyone has been very friendly ๐Ÿ™‚

I am having a very annoying allergic reaction to something. My face is so hot and itchy and my nose is pouring. Iโ€™ve not eaten anything unusual at all. Time for some antihistamines but why?!

Ohhhh weird. I am the allergy queen ๐Ÿ‘‘ what have you eaten? Been near any animals? Perfume?

FurForksSake · 25/01/2026 19:30

The only thing thatโ€™s new is a new hand soap. But my hands are fine, itโ€™s my face!

I had Reeceโ€™s peanut butter cups and a honeycomb flavour protein yoghurt for breakfast.

Donner was roast pork, cabbage, parsnips, sweetcorn and stuffing. There were potatoโ€™s but I didnโ€™t eat them.

My face hates me and my mouth feels uncomfortable but not swollen.

MewithME · 25/01/2026 19:36

If your mouth isn't too bad then would be surprised if it is a food allergy. Plus they usually start immediately. I react within moments.

Is there anything you know you are allergic to?

I would wash your face with just water and pop some antihistamines.

Could you have developed MCAS ? That's a comorbidity with some things like MEcfs and Ehlers Danos.

MewithME · 25/01/2026 19:38

Oh any new meds? @FurForksSake

My mum had a bad reaction to hers when it changed brand because they used fish in the casing!
