Thank you @TodayIsatrickyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, maybe shameful to join a chronic illness community to talk about Astrid even though I have CFS and other things but no one else I know has either watched it or liked it. I promise to talk about other things on here too!

MewithME · 24/01/2026 18:57

We're cool with whatever you want to chat about @JewelleryCat ๐Ÿ˜Š

@TeaAndStrumpets has got us all on tenterhooks waiting for her to report back in her dds new gadgety scrubby brush thingery.

And I've been wanging on about Idris Elba in Hijack for weeks...

This is the level of minutae I live for in between my aches and pains and whinging ๐Ÿ˜Š

I find it comforting.

Also, who was it who inspired me to buy a support for my monstera..with their lovely photo? .cos the twiney thing duly arrived but I have no clue how to 'install' it. My plant is all horizontal and hanging over.

Went to work this morning and banked some lovely TOIL. And then came home and slept all afternoon ๐Ÿ˜ด

I have a blocked ear that I cannot hear out of which is uncomfortable. I can't tell if it's blocked from the inside or out and the tubes between my sinuses and ears are always full anyway. I've been using drops to see if it's a lump of wax that needs shifting and been taking paracetamol to help with the discomfort but I'm feeling a bit miserable ๐Ÿ˜•

Take away for tea and then Traitors Uncloaked, which I was too knackered to watch last night. And then back to bed. Nothing to do tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to ๐Ÿ˜Š

Have a peaceful evening all ๐Ÿ’•

Well the result is in re the scrubby thing. Burned on gunge round gas rings on the range cooker....gone after being minimal pressure from the brush attachment.
Thinnish layer of limescale on marble tiles cleaned off with one pass of the microfibre pad. Lower down the limescale was crusted and didn't want to shift, so out with the nylon scourer attachment....it just annihilated it.

So yes, a definite thumbs up!

MewithME · 24/01/2026 20:01

Ohhh you should have filmed it @TeaAndStrumpets . Sounds satisfying like those jet wash videos ๐Ÿ˜

I'm grumpy today.
Patience was dull as ditchwater and I refuse to watch French ditchwater.

However, have just watched "Whitstable Pearl" and both DH and I liked that.

Oh I'd forgotten the carpet cleaning videos, they were fun.

Apparently people like watching programmes about cleaning really dirty houses - look at Kim and Aggie. You just know the houses they clean will be minging again in three months tops.

I have just ordered several pounds worth of limescale removal spray from Waitrose ; Delphis which doesn't have such bad fumes as Viakal. I reckon a gadget would save money over a year.

JewelleryCat · 24/01/2026 20:35

@FuzzyPuffling it isnโ€™t French ditchwater. Patience is, yes but Astrid sometimes blows your mind and sheโ€™s adorable which helps, Iโ€™ve seen it advertised on the Drama channel, is Whitstable Pearl good then? Is it like Midsomer?

We definitely need a link please @TeaAndStrumpets - sounds amazing! Much needed in this house ๐Ÿ˜†

Don't be grumpy fuzzy, you are going to be a Birthday Girl soon!

Our birthday girl was one this week. Among her birthday gifts she got a walker with a handle which doesn't adjust low enough and a balance bike with the seat too far off the ground for her little legs! She is very short despite a healthy appetite.

So if you can push a trolley and get on a bike you are doing fine!

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/01/2026 20:51

@Swanhilde Bosch Electric Cleaning Brush Universal Brush 3.6v includes one micro usb cable and four basic cleaning attachments. Amazon ยฃ41. There's a version for ยฃ54 ish that has all the possible attachments so probably better value.

We have the Bosch window vac which is better than the Karcher one.

You'll have to write a 'not yet!' On the card.

Have a lovely birthday!

FuzzyPuffling · 25/01/2026 07:57

Thank you Tea. It did make me laugh!

Happy birthday @FuzzyPuffling ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿฅ‚๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ’

Today is a tricky one. I desperately need to rest but I'm feeling fizzy and my head wants to do things that need doing. I've already had a shower and weekly hair wash and now I'm back in bed with a cuppa and I need to stay here ...

Wish me luck ๐Ÿคž

MewithME · 25/01/2026 11:22

I saw this yesterday which made me laugh @Swanhilde
