Ohh I just accidentally napped....and now our dinner will be late. God I want someone to look after me sometimes!

Exhausted.

I'm sorry @MewithME . You deserve to be looked after ๐Ÿ’

Kitterkitkat · 20/01/2026 18:11

@TeaAndStrumpets indeed! ๐Ÿ˜
Now I need stodgy comfort food

Kitterkitkat · 20/01/2026 18:18

@MewithME can anyone do the cooking tomorrow? I can't ask boyfriend as a) he's on another continent and b) I'd get chicken nuggets. But I'm happy to have low nutrition tonight and make up for it tomorrow.

FurForksSake · 20/01/2026 18:23

We had Vietnamese caramelised pork with rice and Brockley for tea. So exhausted but thankfully that only took a few minutes.

FurForksSake · 20/01/2026 18:25

@MewithME would a meal box help at all? We did gousto for ages and they had lots of low effort but fairly nutritious bits. Iโ€™d sit and do a month worth of meal choices And it did help.

You definitely deserve looking after x

Thanks for the suggestion. No, meal boxes don't help. DS is autistic so I have to cook for him from his limited likes no matter what. I get by. But some days I would love someone that make our tea.

It's a treat for me sometimes to just not eat at all when DS is with his Dad. The relief of not having to move is better than feeling hungry.

I can't remember the last meal someone's cooked me. It was probably my mum last August.

Maybe I could add it to my fantasy Idris Elba visit. He could pop round, put the Xmas decorations in the attic and make me a cup of tea. ๐Ÿ˜‚ The fantasy of having a capable and functional adult to help is strong! God I am a sad case!

I mean it's a lot less effort than dealing with Hijacked planes and stuff ๐Ÿ˜

Just watched season 1 ep 2 and my heartrate has gone up! Need to read a soothing book or something now. It's very well done.

I feel like this after Traitors. Takes me a while to calm down....sad case again ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's so ridiculous! DH is tutting and points out even the background music is calculated to get the adrenaline rushing. He thinks I shouldn't watch but I'm hooked now!

Anyway just realised Digging for Britain is on tonight, that's calmer...

FuzzyPuffling · 20/01/2026 19:39

I've cleaned the bathroom today, but the weather has been filthy. Unlike the bathroom.

FuzzyPuffling · 20/01/2026 19:41

We watched a couple if episodes of Whitstable Pearl this afternoon. If you ignore the dead bodies, its quite relaxing!

That is probably about right, a mystery without too much nerve racking! I always used to laugh at tv programmes which warned of 'mild peril' but I reckon that is my limit.

Orangesandlemons77 · 20/01/2026 20:34

Another day mainly resting here. Awoke early in a panic heart racing, then was unable to get back to sleep.

Resulted in a sluggish day, feel asleep in the pm. Horrible weather here today too, grey and rainy. It's time for Spring now I think

Now watching some kind of 'car flipping' programme with DH and the DS's. Had a Thai lentil thing out of a packet for tea. Sometimes I microwave a sweet potato and have it on top of that. But today just on it's own.

Then I had one of the veggie cup a soups for lunch,

MEwithME I have these sometimes, I get them off Amazon. Merchant Gourmet or something. They just go in the microwave for 2 mins. I know what you mean my DS's like the same old things and it gets really boring.

TeaAndStrumpets · 20/01/2026 20:48

@Orangesandlemons77 waking up like that is one of my warnings to rest! Hope you have slightly recharged your battery now.

RuddyLongCovid · 20/01/2026 22:27

Having a flare up. Panicking as I have had to cancel a bunch of things this week (I am self-employed). Oh, for a crystal ball...

Sympathies. Knowing to HAVE to slow right down is so frustrating. Hope you pick up again soon.

TeaAndStrumpets · 21/01/2026 07:35

Morning all!

Oh well, back to the old routine. I enjoyed watching Hijack but it put my heartrate up 20bpm just sitting there, and I woke up twice in the night with adrenaline rushes.

My body is like an out of control plane which has been hijacked by terrorists!

Today I must be calm and relaxed. Ha ha ha.

Kitterkitkat · 21/01/2026 07:38

Morning.

I don't have time to think about medical stuff (hospital in a week though) as so much else is going on. I'm really devastated about it all.

Realisation14 · 21/01/2026 08:27

Morning all, I must phone the GP today, been putting it off for ages and my friend has told me if I don't ring today she is going to chase me for it lol but honestly it fills me with so much dread dealing with doctors, I already deal with them on behalf of my son for so many things that when it comes to myself I would rather bury my head in the sand.

I have a real phobia about doctors so I understand.

@Kitterkitkat hope you're OK. What will happen at the hospital?

TodayIsatrickyone · 21/01/2026 09:45

Morning all,
hope youโ€™re okay @Kitterkitkat

I understand too re the GP @Realisation14 I finally went a few months ago after avoiding it for so long ( years!) and actually I saw a young but lovely GP who was very thorough, so hope you get a better experience than youโ€™re anticipating.

Hope you can have a calm day @TeaAndStrumpets and get that heart rate down again! I know what you mean about some TV, Iโ€™m the same with Traitors but Iโ€™m compelled to watch anyway! Despite having zero interest in fishing, we love the Gone Fishing program with whitehouse and Mortimer when we want some calm TV. Itโ€™s very relaxing with some gentle humour and a genuine friendship thrown in! Even my teen DD puts it on iplayer sometimes!

Still in a crash here with the horrible woozy feeling if I sit up for too long so a definite calm day. Weather looks foul so wouldnt want to go out even if I felt able so Iโ€™ll stay warm and cosy in bed for now with Diddy dog snoozing on me and maybe brave the sofa later for a change of scene. Such excitement eh?!

BerfyTigot · 21/01/2026 09:47

@Realisation14 I can relate. I put off calls to GP until I really HAVE to get something sorted.

Today I'm at my dad's- last full day for a week or so. I need to postpone a consultant appointment for him, which is just a phone call but still procrastinating on it. Then tidying and cleaning. Going to try to have a nap this afternoon.

TeaAndStrumpets · 21/01/2026 10:05

I've poured myself into my leggings for my osteopath appointment later.

We have two house viewings on Saturday so DH is hoovering and mopping. It's such a pain in the arse. We have a definite buyer who won't make an official offer until our expired planning permission is renewed. The 8 week consultation expired at Christmas, various delays from the council. We have grounds for complaint but it would take several months so we are still in limbo. Meanwhile we keep showing people round just in case of disaster. We would have renewed pp last summer but quickly sold subject to contract so didn't think it necessary. Then our buyer pulled out at exchange so lost us three months. Grrr.

TodayIsatrickyone · 21/01/2026 11:17

Gosh that all sounds so frustrating for you @TeaAndStrumpets and rather stressful. I do hope the council pull their finger out with the PP soon at least and your new buyer can confirm.
