Just for fun!
One thing that I feel just makes me superior than most is that I am a twin mum. Can’t really explain it except that I feel like superwoman for growing 2 babies myself at once

one thing that will make me think you are cooler than most of if you’re left handed, no idea why, I just know I always wanted to be left handed when I was a kid😂

I have impeccable beat, so am a great dancer. I was a huge clubber, and still have the moves. Hipster 20 somethings comment on my ability if I happen to grace a dance floor these days (I'm 54). I am also a music snob & will only dance to music I deem acceptable 🙃😆.

I have an awesome trainer collection & entertain my children's friends with wild tales from the 90s.

DS1 has inherited my perfect beat. He is the coolest person I've ever known- whip smart, funny, & can wear literally anything & make it look cool- that's a true gift.

I am a super sniffer! Like a medical detection dog. I can smell when someone is ill and can differentiate between and identify a few types of illness/ disease. I’m also very good at wine-tasting, love perfumes, etc.

I somehow didn’t internalise any of the female socialisation stuff that has made so many of my friends miserable until perimenopause. I’m not a people-pleaser, I’m low in agreeability, I really don’t care if people like me, I have no desire to care-take. No children, never married, adore dogs but don’t want to be responsible for one.

My synesthesia son is a super sniffer. His job at junior school was to sniff all the lost property each term and return it to their rightful owner. He was very good, they used to give him a little prize for his services.
On the flip side I changed ketchup brand without warning and tried to pass it off as Heinz and he went beyond screaming mad about it. I couldn’t tell the difference at all.

PS I love this thread. So many of you guys are SO cool it's ridiculous.

CherrieTomaties · 30/12/2025 01:55

I can surf! 🏄‍♀️

MagicalCrocodile · 30/12/2025 01:55

I have amazing visual memory. If anyone ever asks where something is.... I know where I've seen it!

Farticus101 · 30/12/2025 01:56

I can almost always present an amazing sense of calm, optimism, positivity and kindness despite being in the midst of chaos or pain in my own life. I've had work colleagues I've worked with for years describe me as the calmest most positive person they know, all the while I was dealing with very traumatic personal life events.

The down side is always being the person who others feel never needs help so maybe a weakness too 🤔

horseplay12 · 30/12/2025 01:59

I am left handed, have a very weak bladder and my DD is autistic - proud of all apart from the weak bladder!!!

2021x · 30/12/2025 02:01

I am very good at finding my way around a city if I know the landmarks and which way is north! Absolutely rubbish with any left/right directions.

You can plonk me in the middle of central London and tell me where you need to go and I walk there without a map.

Lardychops · 29/12/2025 23:02

I’m a twin mum
I can speak Spanish
During my Masters degree I was approached by MI5
When I was 18 I had a brief fling with someone is now mega star famous on the telly all the time -they were only 21 and a nobody civilian then.

Alan Carr??

HeartandSeoul · 30/12/2025 02:04

I can write joined up words/sentences mirrored - so, right to left, and backwards (not sure if I have worded that correctly; I need to go to bed 🙃!). If you then put a mirror on the right-hand end of the sentence/words, it would read perfectly in the mirror.

I have a really wierd type of synesthesia, I can smell numbers and taste certain words

please explain this more in really intrigued

GameofPhones · 30/12/2025 02:13

I am happy to be alone for long stretches of time (in fact prefer it). Like to have an animal companion with me, though. It seems odd, then, that I am good at communication, speaking two languages and with knowledge of others through Uni study.

IvyEvolveFree · 30/12/2025 02:15

Learning. I can pretty much turn my hand to learning anything I’m interested in knowing about.

The other one is making people feel included. Big groups, small groups - can make people feel part of something. You can sit at my table.

I had a great, great aunt who could write perfect mirror-writing. She was naturally left-handed but when at school (over a hundred years ago), she was bullied into writing with her right hand, which had a tendency to write laterally-inverted script. She was also great at crochet and made lovely multi-coloured blankets. I raise a glass to great-great aunt M!

See, I feel ever so slightly superior to twin mums because I got pregnant 6 weeks after giving birth. So while I was breastfeeding my newborn, I was also puking in the toilet. It was like true multi tasking 😂

Catwoman9090 · 30/12/2025 02:36

I have 2, almost 3, rows of eyelashes.

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 30/12/2025 02:37

I’ve been called a “ Human Jukebox” in the past for my extensive knowledge of song lyrics ( mainly from the 80,s) and recently stunned my husband of 18 years when “ Phorever People” by the Shamen came on the radio and I sang every word even though I’d not heard it in years….actually my memory all round for names, faces, places etc is way above average ….

SauronsArsehole · 30/12/2025 02:37

I learn easily. I mean it, I can pick up most things pretty quickly and become somewhat proficient at it in a reasonable amount of time and I love to learn the process from start to finish. I can put it down for years and come back to it quickly too. For example during covid I taught myself how to wash wool fleece, prep and card it. Spin it. Weave it into cloth as well as dyeing. I made countless hanks of yarn that o wove into fabrics. It’s been a few years since I did it but stick a drop spindle in my hand and I’ll have a few hanks of yarn in no time.

i know how to do a lot of things. I joke I have the most eclectic but highly useful set of post apocalyptic survival skills going. Problem is I’m stuck in a dead end job with no way to utilise my full potential; how do you sell that to an employer? 🥴

TabbyJane · 30/12/2025 02:43

I’ve written more than 30 kids’ books (published) but many people I know don’t have a clue. As far as they’re concerned, I’m a freelance editor.

Ruthietuthie · 30/12/2025 02:50

I speak 15 languages, most of them tonal. I also (probably connected) have perfect pitch.

user1492757084 · 30/12/2025 02:56

This thread makes me feel dull.
I am good at hardy any of these spectacular things except backwards writing, super smelling and portrait drawing.

Also most cats, dogs and horses like me.

MrsTrellisOgleddCymru · 30/12/2025 02:57

I’m ambidextrous
I secretly learnt Welsh to surprise my DH (a Welshman)
I’ve befriended 2 crows and a rook who now come when I whistle and feed from my hand!

QuayshhLawrain · 30/12/2025 03:22

My special skill is being able to fast forward through adverts on TV and restart the show at exactly the right moment. Not massively impressive, but may link in to my ability to land on £XX.00 on the petrol pump without fail!

I am fantastic at parallel parking, as a result of growing up in an old city with narrow streets. Last week, in response to DH saying "You'll never fit in there!", I managed to park in a space leaving just 2 inches clearance on either end. Ha!

I have survived sepsis twice, I was in a coma for a week the second time.

All washing that appears in the wash bin is washed, dried, folded and returned to it's owner within 24 hours of being placed there. I'm not particularly good at housework in general, but I can't bear to see the wash bin full!

Esperanza25 · 30/12/2025 03:40

I too am ambidextrous, as is one of my children.
I speak 4 languages fluently and seem to blend in very naturally in the countries where these languages are spoken: random people strike up conversations with me / ask me for information etc as though I live there myself. It makes me really happy!

emmetgirl · 30/12/2025 03:42

I can still do the splits. I’m 59.
I’m brilliant at accents.
I can remember every phone number and car reg I’ve ever had.
I’m incredibly calm in v stressful situations
DD is a leftie!
