Would you have got the Royal children a gift.

If I had been at Sandringham I would not have given the Royal children a gift as they get a lot of gifts anyway. Really they should have taken tubs of sweets and offered them to local children. That way they would have been polite.

I think that's a nasty thing to say. Some of the people are disabled who the Royals have met through charity work. There was a lady on here a few years ago who was terminally ill and wanted to greet the Royals on Christmas Day.

If people are happy to do this then who are we to judge. Also the gifts and flowers are donated.

If any of these people spontaneously recovered from their afflictions, then I might be impressed.

LadyKenya · 27/12/2025 13:14

I don't know if edibles are passed on to charity. I am not sure I would want to eat something that was meant for a member of the rf (cynical person that I can be, at times). People should not waste their money, but it is up to them, I suppose.

PistachioTiramisu · 27/12/2025 13:17

I'm really not sure how it affects you that some people choose to turn out to watch members of the Royal Family on Christmas Day and that some of them want to give presents to the children. I think it is a very kind thought, whether or not they are allowed to keep them. I'm sure that the 'local children' get plenty of sweets from their family and friends anyway,

The only comfort is that all these nutters seem relatively old. The ridiculous forelock tugging will die out with them.

What an unpleasant comment - was it really necessary? You people with your blatant ageism really annoy me.

LadyKenya · 27/12/2025 13:23

To answer the question, no I would not buy a gift for them. If I was at a loss as to what to do with my money, there are plenty of others who are in actual need of things.

TheDogParade · 27/12/2025 13:32

I find it really odd that people go to see them and buy gifts. More worrying are the people that are inappropriate with the children. There is a video on TikTok of a man repeatedly touching Charlotte and telling her she is beautiful and gorgeous. Why did her parents or security not step in? William and Kate are using their children to gain favour with the public but leaving Charlotte do deal with this, as well as people hugging her, is too much. Weird people with no boundaries, creepy men, something really bad will happen at some point and the parents will be to blame.

MellowCoralFinch · 27/12/2025 13:35

No. I don't blame the children as it isn't their fault that they were born into royalty but I hate seeing ordinary people buying things for millionaires/billionaires. They don't keep the gifts and they probably laugh at people afterwards for buying them things (the adults not the children). The money spent could have gone to charities instead.

TurquoiseDress · 27/12/2025 13:37

No why should anyone buy them
a gift? They come from a family with more money than the vast majority of us

CoastalGrey · 27/12/2025 13:39

I think the children handle it very well, they’ve obviously been taught to be gracious and go along with it but it’s completely inappropriate for strangers to be hugging and asking for selfies of any child let alone royal ones! I genuinely don’t understand why these people aren’t enjoying their own Christmas Day instead of queuing up in the cold - some were there overnight ffs 🫣

me24x · 27/12/2025 13:40

Absolutely not. They should be the ones handing out the gifts

They shouldn’t be put in the position where they have to handle it. They should not be taught to go along with strangers hugging and touching them. Their parents are disgraceful for allowing it and I’m actually shocked that they do. I’m not much of a fan of the royals but I didn’t think William and Catherine would allow this sort of thing. There will always be inappropriate people but it is a parents job to protect their children from them.

socks1107 · 27/12/2025 13:47

No I’d have given to a children’s charity instead and made sure a child living in poverty had a nice gift to open that morning. I like the royals but no would I give them a gift over people that have nothing

heartsinvisiblefury · 27/12/2025 14:07

I saw a clip of a man handing out Disney toys to the three children with the biggest one for Louis and he then said to George that his Nanny Diana would be so proud.

Kind but so very cringeworthy and very very odd.

Is it kind? What the hell is George meant to think? It’s never kind to be inappropriate with children and that sort of thing is crossing a boundary. Weird, not kind!

What a bizarre thing to say.

Hotchocolateandmarsh · 27/12/2025 14:38

Surely they don’t keep any of the gift of consume and of the treats? I imagine it’s a security risk as there are some crazy people (thinking razer blades / injected substances into things). So it’s a complete waste of money and time.

I couldn’t think of anything worse on Christmas Day

Edited

It is the fault of their parents that they have put them n this position. They have allowed people to paw these children and say inappropriate things to them about their dead grandmother, who they never knew. They encourage people to throw gifts at them by accepting them.

I agree. Why is that kind? They don't know these children and they didn't know Diana.Inappropriate behaviour around children.

I highly doubt it. I don't think they still have royal food tasters! 🥑🍭🍫

Absolutely not, they live in a castle I’m sure they have plenty. Donations to places collecting toys for children that won’t get anything is a better use of money.

but then I’ve better things to do on Christmas Day tbf. I’d much rather spend time with my family

OhFFSMum · 27/12/2025 17:59

Is that what people do then!?

YourSassyOchreMaker · 27/12/2025 18:04

No

GlobalTravellerbutespeciallyBognor · 27/12/2025 18:34

I can’t see that anything is kept or even recycled. Too much of a security risk.

Obviously the hugging needs to stop, sadly enough, in an era where some people are helped by it. But it needs to stop.

SterlingsGold · 27/12/2025 18:37

Heck no! I live about a 10 min walk from the church and have still never been to watch them walk in. I find it weird that people give us their Christmas morning to do so. I’m not anti royal as such but I can’t bring myself to bow and scrape to anyone.
