Would you have got the Royal children a gift.

If I had been at Sandringham I would not have given the Royal children a gift as they get a lot of gifts anyway. Really they should have taken tubs of sweets and offered them to local children. That way they would have been polite.

I did go and I did bring the royal children gifts. I got an Xbox, a ride on pony and a nerf gun. Unfortunately there wasn't much money left over for my own children's gifts and they weren't thrilled about travelling for hours on Christmas day to deliver the presents but it felt like the right thing to do.

No, but then I wouldn't be schlepping out to Norfolk on Christmas Day to wave at a load of strangers in the first place. Same nutters that camped outside the hospital when the kids were born Confused

That lot are full on weird, the men clutching baby dolls, like something from a horror film.

😂 bastards!
Liz did remember my grandads once but then he was turning 💯.

I think someone has to write and ask?

No idea, I just remember him showing anyone and everyone who came to the house afterwards and the joy that it brought him in the last few months of life.

In spite of that I still wouldn't send any of them one though.

Ladyymuck · 26/12/2025 13:41

No way

Poodlelove · 26/12/2025 13:43

I think it is all donated and the children will get to choose one thing each.
Louis will keep that big red chocolate.

Lovely memory.

No but they will get given away anyway so will most likely end up going to staff or charity.

This.

I hope that Charlotte or "Princess Cuddles" as she has been dubbed by Mailonline glanced your way to ackowledge your servitude to the crown!

I’m even more cynical because I wouldn’t want my kids being given anything by strangers. Could be anything.

They would be checked, and then probably given to charity

No chance was Louis letting go of that big red chocolate. 😂

WineBeforeWhine · 26/12/2025 13:53

Can never understand why people queue in cold weather, or any weather, to see the RF walk past.

ShanghaiDiva · 26/12/2025 13:53

I don’t think they keep them?
regardless it’s not something I would do, nor would I stand around in the cold to catch a glimpse of them.
Dh’s parents celebrate 60 years of marriage and next year and his sister told us not to organise a card from the King as she was doing it. Wouldn’t even occur to me to organise a card. Why would you get so excited about a card congratulating you on 60 years of marriage from two people who broke their own marriage vows. Bizarre!

ChristmasMantleStatue · 26/12/2025 13:55

Absolutely not. They are the most privileged children in the land. In addition, I think it's clear the gifts will mostly be discarded due to potential security issues.

Appalling waste of money IMO.

FromageTime · 26/12/2025 13:55

Owing to not being a complete mentalist, no, I wouldn’t have bought those over privileged children a gift, nor would I have been standing there like an absolute halfwit.

I actually think those people that turn up are mentally deficient.

Dollymylove · 26/12/2025 13:55

Zanatdy · 26/12/2025 12:54

zero point as they give them to charity anyway.

Its not pointless if children in need benefit

ilovepixie · 26/12/2025 13:56

I don’t think they should have to hug strangers, and There’s a woman saying to the royal children your Granny Diana would be so proud. It’s all a bit inappropriate. I wonder what the children think of it all, getting gifts that are then taken away, and the other royal children not greeting or getting anything.

PleasantVille · 26/12/2025 13:56

ijustreallylovebread · 26/12/2025 12:51

I would not spend my Christmas Day lining up to meet them. It’s a total farce. The working classes lining up to give the ruling classes gifts.

The people who go there are doing it totally because they want to, there aren't any feudal overtones

RaininSummer · 26/12/2025 13:56

Definitely not. Ridiculous kowtowing to the so called nobility. Mind you I wouldn't go to see them either. Bloody weird .

Not something I would do but some people are royalists. Some people stand out in the cold for hours just to get a glimpse of a big star attending an awards ceremony, some people to try and get a glimpse of a rock star, queue for hours to get a footballers autograph.
My ex forces son and DIL, along with their DC queued for 5 hours in Edinburgh to see the Queens coffin before it left for London. Some people just want to see history being made in front of their own eyes.
Doesnt make them dumb or stupid

canklesmctacotits · 26/12/2025 14:02

It’s so weird Confused. People giving gifts to the richest people in the country. Shouldn’t it be the other way round? Or not at all? It’s weird on the part of the randomers, and ewww on the part of the royals knowing they’re going to be ogled and photographed. The children in a way are less weird, it’s safe training for what’s coming down the line. But even then. Just all-round weird.

BlossomLeaves · 26/12/2025 14:03

Don’t know if it’s still the case as it’s a few years since I’ve been involved but in the past gifts given to the royals at Sandringham have made their way to patients to the QE hospital in Kings Lynn.

Mydogisagentleman · 26/12/2025 14:05

Would I fuck.
We are a couple of miles away..the sooner this anachronistic, outdated pantomime ends the better.

I like assume the lot must get binned anyway.
Yesterday W&C’s three were called over by a woman who asked to speak to George and was telling him his much ‘Granny Diana’ would be proud of him whilst ignoring the other two.
He was very gracious but it made me cringe. Yes, I like the RF and was a huge Diana fan but the kids never knew her.
Nearly as bad as when Diana died and the family finally came out to meet the public. Women saying ‘look after the boys, ma’am’ to the late Queen. Toe-curling. Like she needed to be told by Edna of Epping that her own grandkids might need a bit of care.

I saw this clip and it made me feel really sad for the children, and I am the least Royalist person there is. It sounds like this is an individual called John (William introduced the children to him) who must pester the family and probably thinks he has some special connection with them. I suspect in reality they only know his name because they have been warned about his creepy behaviour and told to be polite but not to entertain him for too long.
It's really bloody awful for the kids.
