What are you doing today/Boxing day?

I’ve not long woken up. DS is at his dad’s and I have no family obligations. I’m single so just me and the dog today. It’s a beautiful day here so I think I’ll take a drive (about an hour) to the beach with the dog. I’ll take a packed lunch with some Christmas dinner leftovers. What’s everyone else doing? Hope you all have a lovely day!

Currently back in bed doom scrolling but very aware of the sunshine and should be making the most of it!

Tidying the house and trying to find homes for the toys. After that a walk to burn some of the kids energy and then tv with leftover food for dinner.

Also in bed doom scrolling… also aware of the lovely weather and need to make a plan for the day!

Yesterday was lovely but it started early (after a late xmas eve) and ended with too much alcohol 😩

I might just stay in bed for a bit longer ☺️

Im in bed, later I shall be waxing my moustache then going downstairs to play board games.

We have guests until tomorrow, it’s been lovely so far. Everyone is getting up now - I’ve been up since 8am and have tidied up and got a wash on the line, towels and table linen mainly and we seem to have used loads of tea towels! We’re having Bubble and Squeak and poached eggs in a bit then off for a nice walk along the Royal Military Canal in Hythe (just 10 mins from us) and a pub stop for some Merlot. Tonight is a Boxing Day buffet and a games night. Yesterday was just lovely, fab food but we were all exhaused by 10pm and I think we were all asleep by 11pm.

Decanting food into plastic boxes. Filling the recycling. Walking the dog. Eating trifle and cheese. Sitting down.

Im going out to litter pick for an hour or so. My house backs onto open green space that people like to flytip and sadly there's a lot of litter generally. So the abandoned toaster and air fryer are getting cleared and I'll aim to fill a black bag or two of rubbish.

I did this last boxing day, Im thinking of making a tradition when the weather's good.

Annandag jul, we’re going to an outdoor dry ski slope today, we’ll probably have lunch out too.

Relaxing, exercising, maybe some pruning in the garden.

Still in bed. Absolutely no idea how to fill today( and the next 10 days) until I go back to work. I will do a walk for some exercise but that's about it.

Beautifully sunny here. So far I’ve had 2 coffees and done the post Christmas Day clean and 2 loads of washing.
Currently sat in pjs deciding what to have for breakfast.
I’ll be taking the dogs for a walk then the rest of the day will be Boxing Day tv followed by wine nibbles and tv tonight with DH, the kids and MIL.
I’ve given DH the day off today as he cooked and hosted Christmas Day yesterday for 9 of us so he’s currently doom scrolling on his phone in his PJs.

Shivering in anticipation of a cold water dip at 11 🥶

Walking the dog, taking my son to a rugby match then I plan on tidying the back garden. Dinner will be left overs from yesterday with a ham.

Also still in bed. Nice to relax a bit after hosting extended family yesterday. I need to get up and drag teens out of bed to go to DM’s where there will be lots more food and games today and a dog walk with DM’s lovely pooch.

I’ve been rotting on the couch in my pjs for a couple of hours. Dd18 and dd11 are both still asleep (the 11 year old in my bed) so I’m waiting for her to wake up so I can jump in the shower and get dressed. Then around lunchtime me, dh and the 3 girls will go to the in-laws for a couple of hours before coming home for tea.

I wish it was socially acceptable to crack open the champagne at 10am on Boxing Day, I could do with the alcohol before going to the in-laws. They’re lovely but I always get stuck with dh’s 95 year old grandma who is deaf as a post and tells me the same stories every single time I see her then tells me how wonderful dh is and how good he is for doing everything and paying for everything for our family whilst making out like im the laziest person in the universe… let’s ignore the fact I work full time, earn more than dh does and it’s me who does most household stuff and organisation. I can’t even argue back as she can’t bloody hear me 😂😂

luckily the rest of dh’s family are lovely and know it’s not true. Roll on 3pm when I can come home and pour a very large glass of something strong!!

In bed scrolling and thinking about getting up but I have unpacked the dishwasher.

Good luck! I went early yesterday and the wind was brutally cold upon exiting the sea. You’ve inspired me, I might do my cold plunge in the garden in a minute if I can persuade myself to get out from under the duvet.

I'm in the hot tub - had a nice long lie with dh, shower and now thinking about brunch.

It's very foggy here and has been for 3 days so the weather is not inspiring me to do anything outdoors other than sit here in the bubbles!

Kids and grown up kids will be back later so it's smash burgers for dinner and more presents.

Doomscrolling whilst trying to persuade myself that I don't need to go do actual work today (self employed accountant) and preparing to take DH and DD to the cinema to see Spongebob

Have now got 6 days of work. Unfortunately DH is on call working untill 6pm . Plan on doing nothing today everything's clean and tidy no washing to do so im just gonna sit and watch TV eat chocolates drink malibu and relax .

I’ve been up since just before 8pm, had a quiet coffee with the Christmas lights on.

I’m going to have a shower soon, do a bit of clearing up and then plan to spend the day reading a new book on my kindle, eating leftovers, and heading down to my lovely little local this evening for a drink.

Boxing day is my favourite.

I'm watching telly quietly. My adult ds is here and sleeping so I'm happy to chill. I might be driving him home later or he might stay another day. He brought the most amazing cinnamon rolls from a bakery where he lives. I've just had a bit of one and might dig in for more.

Dh was at work yesterday so it was just me and dc. So today, once we’re up, will maybe go for a walk (weather not as nice as yesterday) then having our Christmas dinner (it’ll be a sociable shared preparation)
A film and games later

Still in bed, DH was back in work today and teenagers are all still asleep.

When the kids surface I will make some sausages, eggs, toast etc for them. Then clean up, shower and plonk myself on the sofa for the rest of the day. Dinner is leftovers from yesterday for my DS. My two DDs will have turkey with chips, coleslaw and salad.
