In trouble at work- over a quiche

Coffeandtoast · 21/12/2025 08:38

Good morning

So on Friday we had a little gathering in the office at work. We all agreed to take in various food items and my contribution was quiches and sausage rolls.

so I took four quiches. At the end of the gathering there was one whole quiche left unopened.we agreed that we’d just share out the untouched food

I said that I’d just take the unopened quiche as we would eat it at home. In then comes Patricia, an older woman who I generally find quite difficult to work with. She’s self opinionated and knows everything. I generally try hard to get on with her but she’s a massive PITA. So she said something along the lines of “ you can’t just take the quiche until we’ve discussed who’s taking what” . I explained that I wasn’t to fussed about any of it and that she could just take the quiche, she carried on with her chuntering and huffing and puffing at me. So this is where it went pear shaped, I just snapped and shouted- “ just take the cunting quiche, Patricia”

it’s all kicked off and I have a HR meeting tomorrow regarding my foul language!!!!

I guess op is not coming back to update.

TheSunRisesInTheEast · 23/12/2025 12:54

Maybe a condition of the OP keeping her job, was to agree not to post anything else about the matter on Mumsnet. No doubt it was common knowledge at her workplace how popular the thread has become 😂

Damnloginpopup · 23/12/2025 13:22

Sacked?

Not everyone reads mumsnet

Sacked?

I would be very surprised if someone would get sacked for saying cunting quiche - particularly if they have more than two years service and could go to tribunal

Plus. Employers are supposed to investigate and then do a disciplinary hearing if they feel the need

Sacking on the spot can still happen but it's unwise

now we're getting somewhere 👌

3:30am here, so might be improved 'sober' but here's my revision:

In our office, a lady named Tricia

Took offence at division of quiche (hah!).
"Luv, you're boiling my piss!"

(OP gave Glasgow kiss
:
And faced wrath of the Mumsnet militia).

With respect I prefer my original. Perhaps you should try writing your own limerick?

Sacked?

Or gagged. On account of the swearing.

There once was a woman called Patty
Who at work was bossy and catty
She was late to the party
Acted like an old farty
And quiche was the star of the show

Id be very surprised if someone had to sign a confidentiality agreement just because they swore at work

AgnesMcDoo · 23/12/2025 17:55

You lost as soon as your dropped the C word.

its not acceptable in the workplace

Brilliant. Apart from the last line, which strictly speaking should rhyme with Patty/Catty

TheSunRisesInTheEast · 23/12/2025 19:00

Ok.

And she made the OP really ratty

Patricia, you silly old cunt
why pull such an ignorant stunt?
The quiches were mine
I will not resign
Or say sorry for being so blunt

(Apologies for the bad language. And the ageism.)

Now that's literature 👌

AbbaCadaBra · 23/12/2025 23:06

Take the cunting quiche Lorraine
if it means so much to you
Patricia you are such a pain
You make me oh so blue
I’ve had enough of your control and lies
I paid good money for them pies
why couldn’t you just let it pass?
why report me you fucking grass?
Patricia you will get your comeuppance
And when you do I couldn’t give a tuppence
So take the cunting quiche Lorraine
And stick it up your arse.

I really fancy quiche now. Preferably homemade.

Anyway @Coffeandtoast what did HR say?

onestepinfrontoftheother · 26/12/2025 11:37

I am waiting for the update... I'm still also waiting to hear what happened to the lady with the crows from a thread ages ago - I think about it often and wonder if the crows won?! (I also think about sadder posts, where we never hear back, and I do hope the OPs are safe now).

Bluedenimdoglover · 26/12/2025 20:18

You'll need to eat a big slice of humble pie here, never mind the quiche.

Mimzy26 · 26/12/2025 20:20

Why use the word cunting its a bit much for work

I think its absolutely hilarious and would totally take a quiche to HR to apologise 🤣🤣🤣 to be fair id probably of launched the quiche at Patricia whilst screaming 'take the fucking quiche hon'.

shrunkenhead · 27/12/2025 07:30

Jeez, I'm glad I'm self employed! I wouldn't use language like this with any of my clients and vice versa. Can't believe this is the sort of nonsense HR have to sort out! It's like being back in the playground - "Miss! Lisa said a naughty word!" Give your head a wobble, apologise for your language and aggression and agree to move on. And maybe don't bring a quiche next year!
