I hope for some of the days the weather is dull & grey, as it will make for a cosier time on the sofa, not getting dressed and watching movies all day with lots of mugs of tea. A whole day of not getting dressed - bliss.

I may go for a long walk some days if dry, I'll be WAH some days but it wont be busy. I may go to the gym.

I won't go anywhere near the shops for the sales - utter hell

I lost my darling mum at the end of September after helping my dad to nurse her for the last 8 months of her life, whilst also working. I had a week off after her funeral. It’s been a brutal brutal year.

I’m seeing my dad over Christmas, coming home on the 27th. I have absolutely no plans and plan to continue this lack of plans till I go back to work on the 5th. I cannot wait for Christmas to be over and the relaxing to begin.

I’m so sorry for your loss sending you and your dad all my love I hope you get some rest over the Christmas period

AquaShark · 20/12/2025 22:20

No work 🎉
We have a panto booked for one day & taking fil with us.
We will hopefully have at least 1 dry day for a good walk.
Otherwise, board games, books, coffee and cake. Chillaxing in the words of my 10 yo.
Then we've booked an overnight stay at legoland for nye / ny day.

GalaxyJam · 20/12/2025 22:22

Working and caring for my disabled son, with the added bonus of trying not to neglect my two other children while they’re off school. Can’t wait!

Blushingm · 20/12/2025 22:22

Working

Blushingm · 20/12/2025 22:24

District nurse so still visiting patients even on Christmas Day

OFHelp · 20/12/2025 22:25

Working. NHS here so no downtime for us.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 20/12/2025 22:28

Visits some local NT property and watch lots of TV cosy. Been saving up some stuff to watch.

ElleintheWoods · 20/12/2025 22:30

A bit of work, a nice day couple of days away with the bf, seeing if I can get my wishlisted items very cheaply on the sales (online only), workouts, more elaborate cooking than usual, and a spa day. Perhaps some socialising and walks as well if the weather's nice and people are up for it. Will be lovely having some time with no requirements to be doing anything.

Oh and making exciting plans for 2026!

Strikingitlucky · 20/12/2025 22:32

I've rewarded myself by taking the whole week off. Im a student nurse and work bank shifts as a support worker. The day after boxing day i've made zero plans i'm just looking forward having quality time with DH and my DD's. Providing the weather is dry, im hoping we will do some lovely walks followed by a visit to a coffee shop, going to the gym (running 5k race NYE) and generally having cosy afternoons before its full steam ahead in Janaury to qualify by March.

Deafnotdumb · 20/12/2025 22:33

I misread the title as "Botox Day" and Ops reply could equally apply to both!

As for me, no beauty treatments, lots of family drama and maybe some paddleboarding.

RadiologyStaff · 20/12/2025 22:38

Mostly working. And eating. And sleeping.

caringcarer · 20/12/2025 22:38

I'm having my eldest DS and his gf down and my youngest DS over on Boxing day. I'm Doing a buffet for them. The following day 27th I'm go ping up with DH to visit MiL. We will stay overnight and come back late on 28th. 29th will be an easy stay at home day. I will have to use up the turkey and any gammon left from Xmas Eve. I mean ght make a turkey, gammon and leak pie for dinner. We will probably eat too many chocolates and watch as one Xmas TV. On the 30th we might lie in then go for a walk if the weather is ok. We might take foster DC to spend some vouchers they are being given after lunch if there is anything they want. Then one foster son has football. For dinner it will either be a takeaway or Wetherspoons. New Years Eve we have a sitter and DH and I will be going out for a drink then a late meal which is already booked. We have already done quite a few Xmas activities played Xmas cricket, painted a Xmas bauble which I have to collect after it's been fired. We have been ice skating too and I've made a Xmas wreath for our front door. We have also been out a couple of times to look at Xmas decorations and light displays and get hot chocolate with squirty cream.

Forever1973 · 20/12/2025 22:39

I've got those days off work this year, so I will rejoice in not having to get up until it's light and then possibly do some shopping in the sales.

Ritual9 · 20/12/2025 22:40

I’m having a baby on 30th! So will probably be preparing for that.

I'm going to sit in the jacuzzi and sauna at the gym and just relax. It's been a rough year. I'm also going to a yoga/meditation thing to hopefully put this year in the bin and start next off in a good way.

Pussert · 20/12/2025 22:40

Friends visiting on boxing day. I’ve got a couple of nice beach sauna/swims planned with friends the two days after Christmas and DH and I are planning a long walk with the DC and dog further up the Northumberland coast. I’m planning a few lazy hours on the sofa by the fire with a pot of tea, chocolate and a new book.
Probably have to do a couple of trips to the recycling centre, there’s always so much wrapping and cardboard to get rid of.
Then back to work for me on the 29th for the week. We go skiing on the 2nd January, can’t wait.

greengreyblue · 21/12/2025 08:41

For the first time we have booked a place near the sea for a couple of nights with our adult chn and dog. One DD lives away so will be nice to spend some time together away from home routines. DH and I are always off as our industries close so we thought we’d make the most. We plan to do lots of beach walks, games and there’s a decent pub close by.

NancyJoan · 21/12/2025 09:10

Nothing nothing nothing. I will get dressed every day, and will probably go to the sales w DD while she is here, but other than that, I will sleep, eat, read and potter.
