I hope for some of the days the weather is dull & grey, as it will make for a cosier time on the sofa, not getting dressed and watching movies all day with lots of mugs of tea. A whole day of not getting dressed - bliss.

I may go for a long walk some days if dry, I'll be WAH some days but it wont be busy. I may go to the gym.

I won't go anywhere near the shops for the sales - utter hell

A jigsaw puzzle.

Fatmumslim01 · 19/12/2025 14:39

My favourite time of the year, so relaxing. I'm very lucky to have 2 weeks off work and I love how cozy it is after Christmas. We keep the tree up until weekend before back to school so I think that's 3rd or 4th this year.

There will be lots of playing with new toys for DC, lots of reading for DH and I, some winter walks, possibly a cinema trip, maybe swimming. And eating all the Christmas food until at least new year! Although this is my first Christmas on mounjaro so I'll be eating alot less but I'm excited for little tastes of lovely things!

ArcticGrass · 19/12/2025 14:39

I've got 2 books I want to read.
Have to keep an eye on work but nothing in particular should be happening.
Dog walking (hoping for less rain)
Round at a friend's one night for dinner
See DH's kids who are back for Christmas but staying at their mum's just round the corner.
I'm also looking forward to a bit of down time, eating some nice food, and some lie ins...

BauhausOfEliott · 19/12/2025 14:46

27th December we'll be driving my mum back to her house (250 miles away from ours) and then after we've dropped her off we're spending a night in a posh hotel as a treat before we make the rest of the journey home on 28 December.

Then we have absolutely zero plans until we go back to work on 5 Jan, and that is exactly how I want it! I'm so looking forward to just pottering around and playing things by ear every day, relaxing, only going out if we fancy it on the day, grazing on random Christmas food, reading a book by the fire, watching a few films together, going for a stroll in the huge park over the road... I'm looking forward to all of that way more than I'm looking forward to Christmas itself.

TheCurious0range · 19/12/2025 14:48

I usually work but this year I'm not! I am on call until 29th though. Will be visiting family 26-28th then lots of relaxing, giving DS a chance to actually play with the new things he has, I plan to read some books from my pile maybe watch the odd film

MirandaWest · 19/12/2025 14:48

26-28 going to see my mum, dad, sister and family.

Then hoping to chill a bit and do some running etc

Mikart · 19/12/2025 14:49

We will be at the coast walking, eating and drinking

VeryQuaintIrene · 19/12/2025 14:51

Coming back to London, seeing friends, reading, going to the gay panto at the Royal Vauxhall tavern. I much prefer those days to Christmas.

duchessofsilk · 19/12/2025 14:53

I will be doing my tax return - ideal time to do it during that weird boring period. Starting back running again, working a couple of days, I've got one IPL session booked and making my usual list of priorities/goals for the year

mamaduckbone · 19/12/2025 14:53

We have a big family gathering on the 29th so will need to prep for that. Other than that a balance of PJs/TV/Jigsaws/games and hopefully if the weather is good enough some nice long walks, preferably with either a pint or a coffee/hot chocolate thrown in. What we won't be doing is sale shopping / expensive theatre / light shows etc etc. although we might squeeze in one shopping day.

Zephyrcrossing · 19/12/2025 14:58

Breathe a big sigh of relief, hopefully resume normal activities, enjoy the quieter stores and road traffic, hope that nobody gets sick with anything, turn the calendar on another year gone by and watch for the days getting longer.

Iliketulips · 19/12/2025 14:59

Need to work one day. Trip to town for sales and we may meet BIL for a drink or two at the same time. Definitely a day trip out somewhere. A walk up our local hill - a pretty steep climb so will wake us up and use a few calories - I hope. We also have the possibility of seeing two different friends, but will play that by ear. Any other time, local walks around village every day, some online exercise videos, watching tv, reading a book and playing games.

Lockdownsceptic · 19/12/2025 15:00

As little as possible. Always down time after the excitement of Christmas.

TheDandyLion · 19/12/2025 15:00

Redecorating the bedroom.

Squirrel60 · 19/12/2025 15:03

I'll just stay in, doing extra reading, extra sleeping, binge watching horror and psycho movies on my laptop, scoffing Coco Pops, guzzling tea and Baileys!

Maryberrysbouffant · 19/12/2025 15:05

Boxing Day and the 27th will be spent going out walking then relaxing in the afternoons after the family have gone home …then we are going away for a week on 28th.

TangoWhiskeyAlphaTango123 · 19/12/2025 15:05

Also working.

Mymanyellow · 19/12/2025 15:08

TheChosenTwo · 19/12/2025 14:31

We always go away for a week with dhs siblings and all partners, their kids and now grandchildren! So much bloody fun, very wholesome and always somewhere different but coastal,
walks and pub lunches by day and evenings in where people pitch in with cooking up feasts, some play games, some sit by the fire etc.
My dc are early 20’s plus a younger teen and despite the lovely abroad holidays we take them on they say this week with their cousins is their favourite holiday every year without fail.

That sounds perfect. Happy Christmas to you and yours.

LilyBunch25 · 19/12/2025 15:09

Visiting PILs 27th and 28th; in work one day on 30th. Then hosting on 1st and 2nd. Then booked much needed leave for after. Exhausting year..!

reluctantbrit · 19/12/2025 15:10

We do a light walk on the 27th with friends. Otherwise I am back at work, from home but still 9-5 as end of the year is extremely busy always and holiday is only possible for absolute emergencies.

PeonyPatch · 19/12/2025 15:13

Movies at home, maybe the cinema, long dog walks.

annnnd working 29th to 31st.

Parker231 · 19/12/2025 15:14

Ski - we’re only an hour or so from a range of excellent slopes.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/12/2025 15:15

Chilling, eating leftovers and chocolates, reading, knitting, watching on catch-up anything good we missed while away with relatives (not much but there looked like some good ghost stories non the 24th- BBC), walks in the park/along the river/Kew/Hampton Court. Possibly a trip into central London to see e.g. Westminster Abbey/The Tower, all Christmassy.

Sesma · 19/12/2025 15:17

Go out for some walks if the weathers ok, if not it will be a boxset on the telly

Natsku · 19/12/2025 15:20

Working, but I don't expect I'll actually be doing much work at work because so many people will be off.
